December/Janurary Beauty Test Tube

If you Have watched any YouTube reviews of The Beauty Test Tube, you will already know it is very hit and miss. The one was no different. While there were a few very nice items to receive, there were also many that I could do without.

btchews

The first item I want to hit on is a good idea in concept, but not for this blogger, NEOC’ELL Beauty Chews. Full Size is 30 chews, which cost $15.95 and can be bought at neocell.com .The key ingredients are hyaluronic acid, biotin, collage, and vitamin C. Which are all great things for hair, skin, and nails.  They are also gluten and soy free, which is great for those with allergies. The chews are small and easy to travel with, and it is recommended to take 2-3 daily. My only grievance with this product is its taste. If you have ever taken prenatal vitamins, you will know that the can form a very mineral gross smell and taste. For me, these chews had that quality with a little bit of a fruity additive mixed in.

The next item I am very fond of, as is my significant other with a totally different skin type than me,the Dermologica daily Microfoliant. Fullsize is 2.6oz, cost $54 and can be bought at dermologica.com and ulta. I was pretty surprised when I went to place the product on my hand and found that it was a powder. ( That’s what I get for not reading instructions huh?) The active ingredients are; Papin, salicylic acid, and rice enzymes. The claim is that it is gentle and effective- and it truly is. There is oatmeal and green tea added in to the powdery substance that really calmed my dry irritated skin. The fact that it is a very gentle exfoliant, that can be used daily, has been great for my fiances problematic skin. There has been a visible improvement and we will for sure be purchasing the full size bottle.

The Cailyn Dizzolv’it makeup melt cleansing balm claims to be the “number one beauty gurus’ favorite” and holy cow do I believe it! This stuff is amazing! It took off a waterproof eyeliner like it was nothing! But, this product does much more than remove makeup. It also moisturizes and cleanses skin over time, which someone with dry skin like myself needs. There are many moisturizing ingredients like aloe vera, papaya, and calendula flower extracts. While it is very moisturizing it isn’t overly greasy so it can work for many skin types. A full size container is 50g for $24 or 100g for $36. It can be bought at cailyncosmetics.com and in my opinion, is a must purchase!bts

I love whitening tooth pastes, who doesn’t? But this one had a property that I hadn’t really experienced with others, it burnt my gums. In the test tube we did receive the full size product, which retails for $40(!) at Neiman Marcus, Ulta, and QVC.com. The key ingredients are Calprox, fluoride, and baking soda. It claims to be safe for sensitive teeth, bonding caps, dentures, and veneers. The directions say to use a pea size amount on a DRY tooth brush, and brush for two minuets in small circles. I may give this product a few more tries before passing it along to a family member or friend. (The pamphlet also mentions that super smile sells a whitening gum; 12 pieces for $5).

The Hask Essentials express blow dry heat protecting spray, was nothing too special in my opinion. In the tube I received the full size, 6FL.OZ, which retails for $6.99 at haskbeauty.com and ulta. It cclaims to speed up the time of hair drying by vaporizing excess moisture, and protect hair from the stress and damage of heat tools. This product did not smell too great, and it left my hair feeling a bit straw like. There are many more I can purchase at my local drugstore that work and smell better.

The Mally Evercolor waterproof eyeliner in starlight, was the product I was most excited to try when I opened my beauty test tube, thanks to the You tuber EmilyNoel83 who raves about the brand. Man was she right! The liner was creamy, vibrant, and didn’t smudge. It claims to be usable on the lash line, above, or below our eye; and you truly can. The product received was full sized and cost $18. The line can be purchased at mallybeauty.com and at ulta. I will definitely be purchasing more of this brand.btbliss

I was pleasantly surprised by this product. It is very easy to use, you just wipe the pad over your clean dry skin and go! It contains Glycolic acid, Vitamin E, licorice extract, and witch hazel. The last two ingredients made this product very usable for me, sense my skin is easily irritated. This product actually appeared to calm my skin. A full size tub contains 30 pads and is $49. It can be bought at blissworld.com and amazon.com/luxurybeauty. ( The actual link is above)

Beauty Test Tube always throws in extra items that aren’t included in the pamphlet. This time it was a variety of Tan Towels. I have not tested out this product yet, but plan to closer to the summer. I live in Missouri and it isn’t much of a trend to be tan in winter. Tan Towels can be bought at ulta and sephora.com for $27.
