January 2016 Ipsy Review (And a very sad goodbye)

Before I start the review I would like to say a sad see ya later to the great Alan Rickman. I defiantly am part of the Harry Potter generation, and thanks to the pottermore sorting hat, a die hard Slytherin. Because of these movies, and one geeky Galaxy Quest, Alan Rickman was a huge part of my childhood. I know thousands of us are mourning the lose of a great actor today, and he will be in our memories and hearts……ALWAYS.

Now, the review.Besides one and kind of a half products, this month was a good month for Ipsy in my book. I actually got quite a bit that I will actually use, and not to mention the bag itself is so stinking cute!

Tucker Ashley Advanced Peptide eye cream

This was a no for me. The product was half empty, and frankly it had a bad smell to it. I did not feel comfortable putting it on my face and would not feel comfortable passing it on to someone else to put on theirs. So I pitched it.

Hanlie Sugar Lip Scrub

This is the “half” bad product. The upside, I am a huge fan of lip scrubs. This one has a good lemony scent, and feels pretty nice. The down side? I much prefer the natural Lush bubblegum sugar scrub, and this product had a pretty big layer of just smooth balm that you have to sort of mix, so half the product was a bit wasted. But, once I got to the exfoliant it was very nice and made my lips feel great.

Skone Cosmetics Smudger Brush

Though I was not happy the head of the brush was bent in the bag, I was pretty excited to receive this brush. I have been wanting to try some of the Skone Cosmetics products, but it keeps slipping my mind. This brush is very soft and seems really sturdy. I am pumped to use it.

The Balm Cosmetics Mr. Write (Now) in Scott

Who is going to complain about a FULL SIZED The Balm liner in a $10 subscription bag? NOT ME! This liner is so smooth and pigmented. It is  gorgeous deep plum color, one I do not have many of. Can we please address the name? Scott!! hahah!!! I have no idea why, but when objects have people names it kills me. I am easily amused.

Pixi by Petra Mesmerizing mineral duo in Lavender Bloom

I was put off at first by the light purple in the duo, I usually stray away from purple shades (even though I have green eyes). The light wash of color it ends up being on your lids in beautiful, and come on that pigmentation is great. The formula is so buttery and I am pretty excited to see what looks I can make with this duo.

Thanks for reading,
