* Only includes items you can find at drugstores, nothing that is drugstore priced, by can only be ordered online*
It may come as a surprise to you, but I love drugstore make-up. Only kidding, it’s almost all I talk about on the safe place of Beauty and TidBits. It used to be near impossible to find matte products at the drugstore, but as the matte make-up trend has taken off, more have popped up. However, it is still a bit hard to find GOOD ones. Well, no worries I am here to help!
Eye Products:
I am just going to jump right in with this post and start with eye products.
I would be lying if I said the Sonia Kashuk Eyes on Neutral Matte Palette. The shadows are pigmented and very easy to blend. Now, this is more expensive than most drug store palettes at around $20, so I decided to also include a new palette I am quickly falling in love with, The E.L.F Mad about Matte palette. For half the price, coming in at $10, you get essentially the same range of shades, some are even more pigmented than the Sonia Kashuk shadows.
The next eye product that I want to discuss is the L’oreal Infallible Matte-Matic eye liner.
Look how matte and pigmented that swatch is! It’s perfect! This liner is very long lasting, it is probably my favorite liner, drugstore or high-end, to line my water line with. It is worth every penny of the $8.99 that it cost!
The Face:
*Note: I did not include a foundation because there is not one that I am loving. I won’t suggest a product that I don’t love!*
Essence: All About Matte Fixing Power Compact
This powder is fantastic. it sets the face like a dream, is very easy to travel with, and best of all it is super inexpensive! It cost $3.99 and is a product that I will continue to repurchase.
NYX HD Finishing Powder inn translucent
This fella is exactly like Make-up Forever’s HD powder. Ya, I know, everyone and their hamster knows this, but I actually quit purchasing that product because of the NYX one. The only thing I do not like about it is how the powder gets everywhere, the packaging does not do the best job of containing the product. This product is $9.99, WAY less than the Make-up Forever version.
City Color Be Matte Blush in “papaya”and Milani’s Powder Blush in “Romantic Rose”.
I love these blushes. They are absolutely in my “Top Favorite Blushes of All Time” category. They are pigmented, but not too pigmented. By this I mean it won’t look like you have a very specifically placed tan or sunburn. They are also both very long lasting. The Milani blush is $8.99, the Color City blush is $6.45. If you spot these I really suggest that you pick up a few shades in each, you will not regret it.
I talk about both of these blushes all of the time. The Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in “light” is a product I have discovered in the recent months, and I can’t seem to stop using it. I wear it just about everyday! But, it is also a bit , just a bit, more expensive than most drugstore bronzers costing $14.99, so I included another option. The NYC bronzer in “Sunny”. This bronzer is an oldy but a goody. For only costing $3.82, it works miracles.
The Lips:
* shades starting at the red back; Divine Wine, Daringly Nude, Clay Crush*
The Maybelline Color Sensational Matte Lipsticks are truly amazing. They are actually very comfortable on my lips, they do not crumble off, and last a good length of time. There are a ton of shades (I have more than these 3) and they are extremely affordable, costing only at right around $6.00
* 1. Copenhagen, 2. Transylvania, 3.Stockholm*
I have almost every single shade of this product. I decided to include a picture of my top 3 in this post! I love how creamy The NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams are! They don’t dry out my lips at all, not form any strange rings, and are unbelievably only $6.00! There are a ton of shades, if you do not already own some shades of this product get them right now. YOU NEED THEM!
Honorable Mention:
The NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray
The reason I am only including this as an “honorable mention” is because I haven’t been using it long enough to have a clear cut decision. Although, it does do what it claims to and I like it much more than any other drugstore setting spray. can’t go wrong with it only costing $7.99.
I really hope you enjoyed this post! What are your favorite matte products, drugstore and high-end? Have you tried my favorites? Comment below so we can discuss makeup!
