I was trying to think of different posts to do, and I thought it would be a nice idea to do looks with and review very specific products. It will force me to really use everything I have, but it is also a nice way to introduce people to new things and maybe even help them find a new holy grail product!
While trying to decide how to do my makeup today, keeping this new post series in my mind, I decided that it would be a great time to try this very pretty quad I picked up at Target over the Easter holiday. It is the Boots Botanics Mineral Eye Colour in “010 Velvet Greens”. Now, I have never tried anything from this brand before, so I though I would start with an eye product.
“Silky soft and smooth, long lasting, crease resistant mineral eye colour.”
“Active plant extract, Chamomile helps to smooth and care for the delicate skin around your eyes.”
My first opinion looking at these swatches is that the shades are very beautiful. But, they do appear very glittery in the swatches, not just shimmery. Which is some what of a turn off for me, especially when it is all 4 shades in the quad with that finish. I do really like these green tones.
To achieve this look I put the gray shade in my crease, used the dark green shade to deepen my crease and used it to define my outer V. I then used the light green almost champagne shade on my lid. To highlight my brow bone and inner corner I used the light pink.
I really do enjoy this quad. It is currently on sale at Target for $7.20. It is linked in the beginning of the post. The almost 5 hours they were on my eyes they did not crease. To get the dark green shade to look nice it did take a ton of blending, but that is nothing new. My only real complaint is that there was no matte. The light pink or light green could have been matte and I would have been set. I do have to other quads by this brand I have yet to try, so be on the look out for those posts!
Have you tried this quad? What other Boots products do you suggest that I purchase? What are your favorite quads in general? Leave me a comment!
