Recently I got a new job, working in a retail environment. I must say I really do love it. My job as a canvaser for Kirby was the worst job I had ever had, and I worked Ring Toss at Six Flags over St.Louis. I didn’t get paid for the work I did, was taken to sketchy areas, and honestly everyone I came in contact with that worked with that company was terrible. EVERYTHING they have you say and pitch to the people you are intruding upon is a lie. So, once I realized I was done trying to do something different I decided to take a job offer I had been given and I am very happy with it!
I have my makeup on for at least 8 hours a day, with very little opportunity to touch up. I wanted something that would provide lasting coverage, but I didn’t want to try any new products, I wanted to use products that I love and trust!
Here’s how I did it:
I start off by washing and moisturizing my face, and applying my Smith’s Rose Bud Salve after using a lip exfoliator. I know I state this in every post that is even remotely like a tutorial, but I do this because it is a very very important step.I prime my face with the Benefit Porefessional primer. I love how this product makes the pores on my cheeks and nose disappear.
I then move on to my brows, so it is easier for me to define them and not have to worry about strange concealer lines. I fill them in with the L’oreal Brow Stylist Definer. I then brush through them with a spoolie. I outline them with a pot concealer and a small concealer brush, to help define them just a bit more. I then set them with clear brow gel. If anyone is interested in how I do my brows and the processes I am going through with growing them out, let me know!
I then go back to my face and mix my L’oreal True Match Lumi Foundation in N1-2 , and my Revlon Color Stay Foundation in “Ivory” For normal/dry skin. This gives me a slight glow, but also increases the lasting power of my foundation. I then conceal little “problems” with Hard Candy’s Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer in “Ivory”. This product in said shade is also fantastic to highlight with. I then go and tackle my purple under eye area with the trusty Maybelline Instant Age Rewind in “brightening”. I then bake or cook or whatever, my highlighted spots and under eye area with a translucent loose powder. It doesn’t matter which one, I am not too committed to a certain one. I also set the reset of my face, again, not too committed to a setting powder.
Next, I contour with my MAC blush in “harmony”, bronze with my Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in “light”, use the beautiful Milani Blush in “Luminoso”, and highlight with the L’oreal True Match Lumi Highlighter in “Rose”. I have linked these products in a ton of post, as well as the products to follow, so have fun explore my other posts, and find the links! See what I did there?(;
Next is my eyes. Lately I have been really in to using Rimmel’s Hide the Blemish concealer to prime my eyes. My favorite palette is the Original Naked palette, so it is usually what I reach for. Me and everyone else on earth am I right?
I use “Naked” as my transition shade, “Buck” goes in my crease and outer V to provide the slightest definition. I then take my favorite shadow of all time “Sin” and use it on my lid. “Virgin” usually acts as my inner corner high light and brow bone shade, but it I don’t want as much shimmer I will pull in Wet n’ Wilds “Brulee” or MAC’s “Blanch Type”…doesn’t really matter which they are essentially the same.
I really like using Maybelline’s Master Precise Skinny Gel Liners to tight line with, they are super easy to use! I am also still in love with Covergirl’s Plumpify Mascara in “Black”.
For my lips I go with something super simple. MAC’s Angel. It is light so when it wears off it isn’t too noticeable. It is also extremely moisturizing , and not to mention the smell. Who doesn’t love the smell of MAC lipsticks!?
I then set my makeup with Urban Decay All-nighter Setting Spray.
After 8.5 Hours of wear:
My eyebrows to look too fantastic ( Any one recommend any brow products?) and my lip stick wore off, BUT the blemishes on my face are still concealed and my eyes are still popping, and that is what matters to me! It doesn’t feel to heavy or look unnatural. Perfectly acceptable for work!
I really hope you enjoyed this post! What long wearing products should I try? What are your favorite makeup products for work? Comment below <3.
