*Win or Waste?* Pixi Beauty Blush Duo “Rose Gold”

pixiduo

I got this blush/ highlighter duo in an Ipsy bag too long ago for me to remember, so instead of it being considered an Ipsy product, it is a win or waste review item!

I haven’t tried much from Pixi by Petra, although I want to, so the few products I have have really shaped my opinion of the brand. It is cruelty free, which is fantastic and you can get them at target. I did find the Pixi website and you can purchase this product on it still! See! And it comes with a kabuki brush!

Swatches:

pixiduo1

Upon swatching I really was not impressed. The blush nor the high-lighter were all that pigmented and seemed like they would make very little to no impact. I personally do not see why they named this duo “rose gold” because the blush looks more coral to me, but to each their own.

On the Face:

I am not going to lie, I am very surprised by how much I like this high-lighter! I looks very natural and last a very long time. I really can see myself using it more often. The blush; however, is a different story. Upon first applying it, I thought it was very pretty. This lasted a whole MAYBE 30 mins, then it faded. I was pretty disappointed. Although this is sold at the drugstore it is a bit more expensive than the usual drug store blush, so I was expecting a more high end quality.

Final Verdict:

I am sorry to say this, but to me it is a waste. Although the highlight is great the duo really isn’t worth it. Not to mention I really dislike how both product are in the same pan, for me that usually does not generate good results. Now, if the high-light is sold alone I would say yes get it, but unfortunately I can not seem to find it.

*Vegan Cuts Product Review* Routine Deodorant

routine

My second Vegan Cuts product review! I have been wanting to try a natural deodorant, and I am very glad that I have finally gotten to. The deodorant is made out of vegan clay and other natural ingredients,  I miss placed the information card so I can not tell you what exactly they are for the one that I got. I got the Patchouli and vanilla scent- a scent that I am not obsessed with!

Aesthetics/ sample itself:

This little sample pod is so cute, look at the little green bird! After I finish it up I am going to wash out the container and use it to put foil packets in when I am trying them out! As small as this sample looks it is going a long way, I have used it almost every day sense I have gotten it and I thankfully still have some left. As I said before it smells amazing to me. If you are put off by grainy creams than you may not like this, the texture did take a bit of getting used to.

My thoughts:

I need to buy this! I never want another deodorant. This one works so well and lasts all day long, which surprised me because I haven’t heard the best things about natural deodorants. I will repurchase it IF I can find this same scent! You can get this product here, in various size (prices) and scents!

What is your favorite natural deodorant? Think you can help me find this scent in this product and others?

*Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Product Review* CoCokind Face Serum

cocokind

I got this product with the Vegan Cuts Summer Essentials Box. I am really excited to give my first full review on a product sent by them! I really just want to jump right into this.

What Exactly is it?

This product is organic, fair trade certified ( the coconut), and non-gmo. It is so natural and I love that. It only contains 5 ingredients, so you know exactly what is going on your face. It has organic coconut oil; which provides moisture, antioxidants, and nutrients. Organic virgin avocado oil which; which nourishes skin, and organic rose hip oil which is full off fatty acids and antioxidants that rejuvenate the skin.

I also want to mention that every item bought does benefit others as well as you! For every product you buy money is donated towards giving water, meals, and books to children in need! Another thing about this brand that makes me very happy!

How to use:

Apply small amount to face once or twice daily. target problem areas and remember a little goes a long way.

Aesthetics:

I personally think the packaging is cute and I really enjoy all the information that is provided for you on it. The product itself is a shade of yellow, and holy cow tits does it smell amazing!!! Just like actual coconut. I think this is a very generous size for a serum, sense you really do not need much product.

My thoughts:

This had made my skin so much better than it has ever been! It has really helped with the dryness, and it does seem a bit fuller (if that’s how you want to describe it) causing my acne scaring to not be as visible. I have actually given away all my skin serums once I started using this one. I will for sure repurchase it before this one runs out, I never want to be without it!

Get it here for $13.99! You can also get 20% off with this discount code, OHMC8Q1OBDYR

I hope you enjoyed this review! Have you used this brand before? What is some of your favorite ORGANIC skincare?

*Win or Waste* Essence Single Shadows

essenceshadows

Today I bring to you, a win or waste! I finally came up with a title to use for my hot or not posts. I kind of dig it! Essence Cosmetics has blown up lately in the blogosphere, and it is easy to see why! Essence has a ton of great products, they are cruelty free, and the best part is they are so SO inexpensive! These single shadows are only $1.99!! They do have other types of single shadows, today I will only be reviewing a few from the Mono Shadows line.

The Swatches:

essenceshadows1

Left to Right; Keep Calm and Berry on (matte), Triple Choc (matte), Rosy Happiness (shimmer), Apricotta (shimmer), The Glamy Goes to (shimmer)

I picked up a variation of the shades and finishes to make this review more fair, and to show across the board examples.

As you can tell from the swatches, for the price these shadows are okay. They are not as pigmented as they are in the swatches on the eye though, sense I used my fingers to do the swatches (I am going to start using a brush).

I used “Triple Choc” in my crease and then used “Keep Calm and Berry on” to deepen it up. My lid shade was “Apricotta” and I used “The Glamy Goes to..” as my brow bone and inner corner highlight.

It took a lot to get these shadows to show up. I had to apply and apply and apply, on top of that I fond them a bit hard to blend.

Honestly , for me these shadows were a WASTE. What is the point of having and purchasing something if it is barely visible on the eyes? BUT, the shade “The Glamy Goes to..” is not aa complete waste! It makes a beautiful face high-light, so if you are trying to find a nice very inexpensive one I recommend it!

If you are looking for inexpensive single shadows Wet n’ Wild’s Color Icon single shadows are only $.99, and they are ahhhmazing!

What do you recommend from essence? What are your favorite single shadows? Do you prefer singles or palettes?

*Ipsy Product Review* Peek Nom Nom Natural Lip Plumping Balm in “Miracle”

peek

I got this item in my most recent Ipsy bag!

Ipsy Info:

Why we love this brand:

“PEEK is all about natural beauty and natural ingredients. Their gluten and cruelty-free products keep you looking picture perfect without harmful additives.”

Why this product is fab:

“This shimmering nude shade adds a subtle sheen while naturally plumping your pout thanks to key ingredients like ginger root, chili pepper extract and lychee extract.”

My thoughts:

Sample size/ aesthetics:

I am pretty pleased with the size of this sample. I have a ton of lip balms so I honestly don’t need large amounts of that product. I am not sure if you can tell, but I made a pretty good dint in the product! I am in love with this packaging. It is so sleek, I also really like that the lid slides off the product. I do wish the bottom wasn’t pink and that it was just all the tin color.

Product itself:

I love this. Point blank, best plumping balm I have ever used. I apply it after exfoliating my lips, and in my eyes I can see a difference! The chili pepper scent is a bit strong within it, but with the other scents it contains, I think it smells great. I also want to point out how great I think this brand is in general, and how happy I am that it is an all natural product. It leaves no color on the lips, so it is fantastic for those natural no makeup days as well!

Would I purchase?

YES! I plan to order this and a few other items!

Get it here for 20% off!!

*Birch box Sample Review* Coola Classic Sun Screen “White Tea”

coola_classic-sport-face-spf-50-white-tea_p_p_1500x1500

I got a small sample of this product in my May Birch box. I am going to be straight forward with all of you and start off by saying this will be a very short review and not in the same layout as my others.

Pros:

It is cruelty free

It is organic

Cons:

Everything else!

I do not like the smell, the product is too greasy, and it balled up on my face so badly! It is meant to be a face moisturizer, why did it ball up so badly?! I let it dry before I applied my primer, but it still was terrible.

I would not purchase this, it is no where near worth its $32 price tag.

Have you tried this??!!

E.L.F Haul!

elfhaul

I just ordered a few things from ELF and I am here to haul my purchases! I haven’t gotten to try any of these products in depth yet, but I will be reviewing a few!

I want to start off with the things that I actually purchased.

E.L.F Daily hydration moisturizer- I got this because the moisturizer I was using started to aggravate my skin. I had heard great things about this one! It’ll be a nice thing to give a try!

E.L.F Acne Fighting Foundation- I got this in the lightest shade they have. I haven’t ever tried an E.L.F foundation, so I decided it would be good to try one that is more full coverage.

E.L.F Aqua Primer Mist- I still have yet to even open this product. I am excited to try it though, I like the concept and this one is such a great price!

ELF Cream Eye Liner in black- I have been wanting to try more gel/cream liners and decided theirs would be a nice one to try.

E.L.F Flat Liner Brush- I needed one for the use of fixing my brows and wings. I like elf brushes, and it isn’t much money out of my pocket if one is a dud.

I also got the Eleventh Gorgeous Pick Lip Kit!!! The youtube gurus Stephanie and Tracy have paired up with ELF to make a kit of their favorite ELF lip products. I saw this and obviously had to get it!

elfhaul1

It comes with a Mint Lip Exfoliator, the Lip Plumper/ Primer duo, and 2 matte lip colors in “praline” and “Cranberry”.

I am pretty excited to try everything that I purchased! I love how affordable Elf, how great the product quality usually is, and how sleek it us all packaged!

I also got a few extras put in to my order! I used a code that is now expired.

elfhaul2

I am wondering if the Precision Liquid Eyeliner is just their old one in new packaging? Guess I will find out!  I am also pretty interested in the Lip balm in “Nude” and the quad in “smokey”. I really do not think I am going to like the powder in “soft lumminance” Just seems well, dumb..

Beauty Haul! Ulta/Target

520haul

Last Sunday Josiah and his dad had a boy’s night and went to a Blue’s game, I didn’t get to go (which sucks ) so I went to visit my mom’s (aunts who I am very close to). I was in the St.Louis area, sense that is where my family lives, and I spent the last 5 years of my lives. I can’t go up there and not shop just a bit, so here is a small haul!

Target:

E.L.F Daily Face Cleanser I snagged this product for $5, which is cheaper than it is on the ELF site. I have not tried this item yet, but I will have a full review once I do!

Not Picture** I also got a cute mint colored magazine holder to hold my palettes! I also got some method dish soap! But, that does not pertain to this.

Ulta:

Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator “Gilded Honey”I am so excited to play with and review this for all of you! I do not think this item is cruelty free, but there was only one and I couldn’t pass it up, kind of made me feel shitty. I got it for $26. Once I have used this more I will review it.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette- I finally got the Naked 3 palette, and I am very glad I did! I have come up with a few really pretty looks with this palette already, and having this helped me to get rid of my non-cruelty free rosy shaded shadows! I can’t wait to show ya’ll what I have come up with!

Pssst! Tropical scented Dry Shampoo- I actually have had this product a bit longer than the others. I do not like it. It is way too scented and makes my head itch so badly! What dry shampoo do you recommend?

Bonus sample item!

If you can see the small perfume samples pictured, I received these in the mail. They are the Tom Ford perfumes in Black Orchid and Velvet Orchid! They came in a very cute box! Which I will show off more in the review, because I have re-purposed it!

What items have you gotten recently? Have you tried any of the products I hauled? Any thing I need to pick up? Let’s Talk!
