Maybelline Vivid Mattes, We meet again.

I have previously reviewed this product, The Maybelline Vivid Matte liquid lip colors. I can’t seem to find that post though! Influenster recently sent me two of the shades Rebel Red and Nude Flush, to review and I thought, “why not try them again?” Now, I do not purchase anything that isn’t cruelty free, so just be aware that even if I like this product I will not actually purchase it.

Aesthetics/product availability :

I have to give it to Maybelline, the  packaging is very sleek and appealing to the eyes. I am also really pleased with the fact that you can see the color through the packaging. As you will, hopefully, be able to tell from a swatch later in to the post, it is very true to color. I think it is nice that such an inexpensive liquid lipstick is so readily available, at just about every drugstore! But is it worth it?

Scent/Feel/Wear/ETC:

The scent in this product is so strong. It hit me really hard when applying the product. Because of this strong scent it left a very chemically taste in my mouth. It was disgusting. The feel of the product was pretty nice. It feels a bit thicker than others, really reminded me of the new Boxum Whipped ones. Wasn’t too drying on the lips either, which is nice.

Application/ Longevity:

When applying this product I came to realize that applying more than one thin coat is a bad idea.It glops up very badly and also bleeds. But, with Rebel Red applying only one coat left it very patchy, it just looks terrible either way. Neither of the shades lasted very long on my lips, like at all. They needed to be reapplied pretty frequently, and I am not about that life. They also do not dry down matte, which pretty much defeats the purpose.

Over all:

I would not recommend this product. quite honestly I recommend the NYX liquid Suede liquid lip sticks!

*I was sent this product for review, but all opinions are honest and my own!*

What do you think of this product?
