I recently hauled the Carli Bybel Palette , and I have finally tried it out! This palette is $14.50 and comes with 14 different shades! This palette has been all over the place, because Carli is another beautiful You Tuber! I have heard a lot of mixed review, if you are interested in what I have to say and a day time plum look I created with this palette, keep reading!Aesthetics:
As I mentioned with the Shaaanxo palette, the packaging is card board; which, I personally am not too fond of. But, the packaging is so pretty! I really enjoy the simple color scheme, and the large mirror! There is also an inspiring quote by the mirror, it really is encouraging to see on those days where you really need some affirmation. The layout of the shadows and highlights is also very appeasing to my eye.
Score: 10/10
The product:
The shimmer shades in this palette are stunning, all of them. They are crazy pigmented and turn out beautiful on the eye. I do wish the matte shades, the deeper ones at least, were a bit more pigmented.
The shimmer shades is one swipe, while the mattes were swiped twice. Assuming the large pans are meant to be highlights, even though I love just using whatever for whatever especially in palettes, the last shade is way too deep to be a highlight, I am not even sure if it could work for deeper skin tones. But, I digress.
I heard a lot of talk that their was some color over lap (high lighters and shadows being too similar), so I decided to swatch those of comparison.
Besides the deepest shades, I really don’t see too much over lap, even the deeper shades aren’t exactly the same.
Score: 8/10, because the matte shades are not up to what I was expecting due to the hype.
The Look:
I decided to go with a day time plum look. The shades have no names, so I will be using numbers to list them.
- I used the 1st shade to set my primer and help the other shades blend better.
- I then used the 4th shade in my crease and the outer 3rd of my eye.
- I went in with the 5th shade to deepen my crease and define my outer v.
- For my lid I used the 2nd shade, I also used this shade on my brow bone.
- I used the lightest high light to high light the rest of my face.
- Other products used, Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara, MAC Cork was used for my brows.
Over all:
If I lost this palette I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it again. I have a lot of shades similar to the ones in the palette. However, it is very nicely priced, I do think it would be a nice thing to try. If you have a small collection or have just started using makeup I do think this would be a nice palette to try out.
Have you tried this palette? What are your favorite looks to do with it? What BH products do I need to try?
