June 2016 BoxyCharm Unboxing

Boxy Charm month 2! It really does not disappoint, and yes it is well worth the $21! This months theme is Girls just want to have fun, if you were wondering.

The Contents:

Cougar Beauty Mineral Face & Body Shimmer Full Size $16: I am sorry, but I am not interested in this, like at all. It is in the shade “Diamond Kiss”. Just seems like something I will never do. Going to give this to some one else.

LVX Nail Lacquer in “Serene” Full Size $18: I love the brand LVX. It is a 7 free formula, so it is vegan and CF. Which makes me very happy. The color is a really summery light blue. It is going to be great for the next 2 or 3 months. Or when ever there are no rules.

Farmacy x Boxy Charm Hydrating Coconut Gel Mask Full size $24: Yay! Another natural, great brand! I am super excited to try these! Really hoping they are as good as I am thinking they will be. I am also hoping these are not sheets…

Ofra Oil Control Pressed Powder Full Size $39.95: Is this product really almost $40!? wow. Anyway. It is just a translucent powder that I have really been enjoying. Too bad it is that expensive, because there is no way I am paying that much for a blotting powder.

Girlactik Percise Eyeliner Marker Full size $20: Can never have too many black liquid liners when you use it every single day. I have been wanting to try Girlactik so this is a great way to give it a go.

What did you think of this months Boxy Charm?

June 2016 Birch Box Unboxing

Oh Birch Box. I have no idea why I still haven’t cancelled you. The box itself this month is super cute though, going in my living room. Let’s just jump into what I got this month. As usually all subscription products will be reviewed through out the month.

clairSEA Rapid Detox Charcoal Exfoliate Full size $18: I have never tried a face detox, so I am pretty excited to try this.”Made with sea salt and scorched bamboo, this all natural scrub battles black heads and oil.” I have been having a big black head problem, so hopefully this helps.

Coola mineral face spf 3o unscented matte face tint full size $36: After my last coola sample experience, I am not too excited for this. But, I will try it and review it for y’all!

Evologie Intensive Blemish Serum Full Size $35: Apparently this serum also tackles scars and hyper pigmentation. We will see reader, we will see.

Orbie Dry Texturizing Spray Ful size $44: I have heard great things about this brand and I am super glad that I finally get to try one of their products!

The Beauty Crop PB&J Smoothie Stick “Raisin the roof” Full size $14.95: First off, is this products name not precious? I will be trying this out and reviewing it, I really hop that I love it. Apparently it contains sweet almond oil, sounds nice.

What was in your Birch Box?!

June 2016 Ipsy Unbagging

I want to just start off by saying that I am not too into this months bag. The bag itself is a graffiti style, and is just too busy for me. Just going to give it to a younger family member. Probably my sister, who is 8. Because that is the age range it makes me personally think of. If you are into that stuff, more power to ya, want this makeup bag, haha?

The Contents:

Bio Republic Sheet Masks: I hate sheet masks. I am not even going to go into these. I will be passing these a long.

Formula X Nail Polish in “Wing Woman”: The name is cute and the color is a pretty red shade. But I do not like this brand, haven’t had good experiences with it. I also do not like the little polish sizes. Looks like Aden is getting another thing.

Hey Honey Day and Night Cream: As mentioned before I am on the look out for a good cruelty free face cream. Maybe this one will be it.

Seraphine Botanicals Happy Hibiscus Blush: I am excited to try this.  It is CF, Vegan, and Non- GMO. I will be reviewing this soon!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Pan in “FireBall”: When I saw this was in my bag I was super excited. It is beautiful and I can not wait to try it out for ya’ll. Did the pan feel a bit small to anyone else?

What did you get in your Ipsy bag!?

Super Easy FOTD Ft. Urban Decay Naked 3

Today I bring you a really easy FOTD, using the Naked 3 palette. As stated in the title. I bought this palette a couple weeks ago, then literally never messed with it. Obviously this is really bad, so I decided to go a head and take the plunge to use it.

The base:

  • I used the ELF aqua primer mist (Review coming soon)
  • The NYX Under eye correcting concealer in fair (Review coming soon)
  • The Maybeline Better Skin Concealer (almost used it up!) on blemishes
  • The Maybelline Master Concealer in the lightest color (Also almost used up) to highlight my face.
  • My foundation was the Maybelline Dream wonder liquid to powder. It is on its last leg, I am really excited to finally be almost done with all these non-CF items.
  • I set my face with the Maybelline Matte powder (also finally almost done).

  • I used my Wet n Wild Brow Pencil in Blonde moments to outline my brows
  • Filled them in with the fist shade from the Kat Von D Shade and Light eye palette
  • Fixed them up with the NYX Above Coverage concealer
  • I then set them with the L’oreal Brow Stylist. (finally on its last leg)

Contour and the Like:

  • I used the ELF contour palette to Contour and Bronze. I love this paletee and I really love using the Wet n Wild contour brush to contour.
  • I used the lightest highlighter from the Carli Bybel palette, obviously to high light.
  • I used the Milani Rose blush in the shade “Romantic Rose”. Really starting to fall back in love with this product.

  • For my primer I used the Maybelline Master Concealer again, really trying to use it for every purpose that I can.
  • I also set my lids with the Maybelline Fit Me powder.

Now for the shadows!

  • I blended “Limit” into the crease
  • My definer shade for my outer v and crease was “Factory”
  • I decided to use “Burn Out” on my lid
  • I then used “Dust” on my inner corner and brow bone
  • I wasn’t happy with this, so I went in with “Strange” on my brow bone and inner corner. Made it all better.
  • I used Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on pencil in “Perversion” is what I used to tight line my upper lash line.
  • I used “Factory” on my lower lash line to define it a bit.

I love this palette and really will be using it more often! Glad I purchased it!

  • I decided to give the Bite Matte Creme Lip Crayon in “Glace” a try. Haven’t really decided if I like it or not.

What are your favorite looks to do with the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette?

*Win or Waste?* Colour Pop x Kathleen Lights: Where the Light is

This little quad has been out for a while. I however, finally took the Colour Pop plunge, so I have only just purchased it.

This quad comes with 2 mattes ( Glow and Cornelius) and 2 metallic shades (KathleenLights and Blaze)

You can buy these shades all together for $20 or separately for $5 each. I thought it was strange that you get no kind of discount, even a small one, for buying them as a set. But, I digress.

The packaging is simple, but that is not a bad thing. I prefer something sleek and uniform over something flashy. The cap is a screw top, so that the cream product inside will not dry out.It also seems pretty sturdy, so there is no fear of it breaking. I do think the shades in the quad go nicely together. 10/10 for the packaging.

The Mattes:

I was less than impressed with the mattes. I applied it with my fingers, and it didn’t do much. I then used a brush, which was essentially pointless. I want to figure out how to make the matte shadows out, but until I do that, I will not be purchasing any more matte shadows from Colour Pop.

The Metallics:

The shades are great! They are pigmented, they blend nicely, and a just plain beautiful! I can really see myself using these a ton. I am for sure purchasing more.

Over all I give these shadows a 2/4 (4 instead of 10 because there are four shades).

My first look with these shadows:

I tried not pulling in other shades, to give the full effect. I honestly would rather have had pulled in some other shadows, but whatever. I do really really love how KathleenLights and Blaze turned out, aren’t they beautiful! I tried to use Cornelius in the crease and Glow as a highlight shade. I used KathleenLights on my lid and Blaze LIGHTLY to define my outer V and my crease a bit.

I would recommend skipping the matte shades and just getting the 2 metallic ones.

Can anyone give me some pointers on making the matte shades work?

What Colour Pop items do I need to get or do you want to see used and swatched?

Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Quad “Sage”

This was supposed to be a win or waste post. But there was no way I could not start out saying that I am so in love with this quad!!

Just look at it! There are a few different quads, all of which look amazing, but this is the one that caught my eye the most. See them all here.

This is a brand I really love and stand by. I love the fact that such a beautiful, talented person can still be so genuine and down to earth. The Kat Von D products are cruelty free and she is working on phasing out the non-vegan ingredients. The quad I purchased just happens to be vegan.

This packaging is right up my alley. It is sturdy, black, and the design is really unique. Even the box it comes in is beautiful. If you look in side there are little stars that look like they are supposed to mimic Kat’s face tattoo, I really like the personal touch. The shade layout itself is to die for. Just look at it! I give this a 10/10.

Product :

Nothing short of amazing. They are creamy, pigmented and truly matte. They are a bit powdery, but they are a soft powder product, so I expected it. These shadows swatch beautifully.

Not only do they work perfect together, but they work so well with other shadows as well. I can’t seem to quit using it. I have done looks with this palette and colour pop shadows and love it! But, for this post I only used this quad, just so you could really see how great it is.

The Look:

For review purposes I used the shadows as suggested. The shade labeled base was my base, the sage is the definer, and so on.

I love it. I will definitely get my moneys worth with this quad

  • I am wearing Too Faced Better than Sex, Kat Von D Trooper, and Urban Decay Perversion Liner

Perks and samples w/order:

I like sharing my samples, perks, etc. Sephora usually has some nice ones, and when I purchased this I was pretty happy with my extras!

  • The perfume Alien, I have no idea who this is by and quite honestly, I am not that interested in it. I just like the name.
  • I also picked the Fresh Rose Hydrating Ritual. I have tried some of these other times and like them, might as well try them while they are free.
  • I also got the Josie Maran Moisturizing face Milk.
  • I got 2 100 point perks this time
  • The Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon in “Glace”

Look how pretty it is! Excited to try it out!

  • I then picked the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Primer in Mood Light. Excited to try a primer from a brand I have never tried a primer from.

What is your favorite Kat Von D product? What do I NEED to get? What did you think of this post?

What was in the Sephora Future Naturals Sample Bag?

I recently made a small Sephora purchase. (Haul soon to come.) At the time of ordering, if you used the code OASIS with a $25 + purchase, you got a sample bag with 12 natural products to try! I really enjoy seeing what samples people get with purchases, and I figured at least someone else does too, right?

Speaking of Sephora promo codes, they have some really good ones right now, you NEED to check them out!

Now, what was in the bag!?

  • Mark Jacobs Undercover Perfecting Coconut primer: This is a product I have been wanting to try, but just don’t want to spend that kind of money on a product I may not love. Getting to try it out in a sample, even though small, is fantastic!
  • Tatcha Indigo Soothing Triple Recovery Cream: This is a product I have literally never heard of. Really interested to see how it works.
  • Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask for instant glow: Another product I had no idea existed! This product is 100% natural and non-toxic, so I am pumped to try it out.
  • Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in “Captivating”:Being honest here, but I will probably throw this away. It is just a piece of think paper with the powder on it, just a little pointless to me.
  • Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask: I have already reviewed this product, and I love it. Really glad I have some more, it is a really nice sized sample!
  • Farmacy Rinse’ n Shine Daily Moisture Lock: I have been wanting to test out this brand! Hopefully I like this product so I will feel better about purchasing more from the brand.
  • Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser: This product is apparently supposed to be warming, pretty interested in what it is like.
  • Guerlain Abeille Royale Face Oil: Pretty expensive brand! However, I have a ton of facial oils, so I will probably toss this in as an extra for a giveaway or a packing I sell on Ebay.
  • Josie Maran Argon Illuminizer: Another one I will be passing a long, most likely. I am not the biggest fan of liquid highlight.
  • Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask: I love face masks, always happy to try a new one out.
  • Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration gel: I have heard some great things about this brand. Maybe I will be able to find my holy grail moisturizer in this!
  • Bite Agave Lip Mask: I have always wanted to try a lip mask, and I have heard these are pretty good. It came with Champagne, Natural, and Smashed.

Do you like this sort of post? What products to you want to see reviewed?
