How is every one? Good? Good.
If you have kept up with my blog, then you know I love the brand ELF. It is cruelty free, the cosmetics are vegan, it is affordable, and relatively easy to get your hands on. Sense I am such a big supporter of this brand, it is just logical to review a ton of their products. Every brand has hits and misses, but I feel like people are more apprehensive when it comes to brands that are widely inexpensive. I am here to help you weed through the duds.
Color correcting and under eye brightening products have become mega popular, but not everyone can shell out the money to get a high-end product. This is were ELF comes in. Though this isn’t advertised as a color corrector, the shade I got is called brightening, so I think it can fall under that category.
This product is a whooping $3 on the ELF site. ELF also has a rewards program now, so you can earn credits towards free stuff which is always nice.
Now, I will stop blabbing and get into the actual review.
Packaging:
I say this in every ELF review, but I love their sleek and simple packaging. A lot of brands go over the top, and to me that is just an eye sore. The product itself is contained in a sturdy plastic. The lid, which the wand with a doe foot applicator is connected to, is made of a a lighter plastic. Which doesn’t feel as sturdy. No, I don’t think it would break while traveling, but I also don’t think it would handle being stepped on too well.
Product Details:
“This high definition, skin firming concealer hides imperfections and regenerates the skin for added radiance. Minimizes fine lines and helps even skin tone for a youthful look. The formula is infused with key ingredients Vitamin C, Green Tea and Mulberry for lifting and soothing benefits, and to help improve skin texture.”
That information all comes from the ELF site. Besides the shade I got, which is the lightest, there are 3 others. I can not seem to find how much product you get, it is probably on the packaging which I already recycled. I never recycle my packaging until after I do a review on the product, if I plan to review it. For some reason I did this time.
Application:
The product goes on very easy. It is a very light formula and it feels great on the skin. I have been putting it under my eyes, on my eye lids (I have dark lids), and in all of my other highlighting spots. My favorite way to blend this product in is with a beauty sponge. It can’t really be built up in coverage. It is a very yellow toned concealer, so be wary if that isn’t your cup of tea.
Wear and Over All Thoughts:
For a $3 product I think it has a pretty nice wear time. If I wear it to work I only notice a small amount of break down around 3 or 4 hours in. I have been enjoying using this product of the spots I like to highlight, so if you want a cheap highlighting concealer this is your girl. But, if you want it to correct under eye darkness, it isn’t going to happen. I am pretty fair, and have very noticeable under eye darkness. The formula is too thin to hide any of it. And the tiny bit it does hide, is revealed not too long after application anyway. Depending on what you plan to use this product for, really determines if it will work out of not. But, how can you really go wrong with a $3 highlighting concealer, amirite??
