Fortune Cookie Soap Oct 2018 | I’m gonna wreck it

It is time for the Fortune Cookie Soap OTM box again.

I have to say, I was surprised that the theme wasn’t a scary movie. But, Wreck It Ralph is a cute movie. I guess some people will enjoy the comic relief the movie brings during spooky season.

The Glitch Cuticle Butter $9.99

I never use cuticle stuff. I really need to though. I just feel like lotion does the same thing. Maybe I will make it a point to use this one.

Stay Sweet Milk Shake $8.99

As I have said before. I don’t have a bath tub. This milkshake almost looks like cakefetti mix!

It is supposed to smell like strawberries. My little sister is really going to like this.

Bad-Anon Hydrate Me $10.99

Scented with wild berries and cedar wood.

This is essentially the most convenient in shower lotion. I love in shower lotions.

The hydrate me smells amazing.

I’m Bad and That’s Good Perfume Oil $16

Scented with pomegranate and whipped caramel marshmallow.

The combination sounds strange, but it smells fantastic. I really enjoy the FCS perfume oils. They last for such a long time and have a noticeable fragrance.

Regenerate Body Wash $4.99

Scented with butter mint and caramel.

I can’t really detect a scent on this one.

It is just a travel size though, so it isn’t that big of a deal. Either Coty or I will end up using it.

Sugar Rush Solid Sugar Scrub $12.99

Scented with lemonade and bubblegum.

Boy can you smell it! Especially when you smell them individually.

I have never used a solid sugar scrub, I do have one from FCS already. I will need to bust them out soon.

Lalalaffy Taffy Laundry Detergent $9.99

Scented with orange cream salt water taffy.

I am way too excited about this new product than I should be. It smells great and I always can use laundry soap.

As always, I am happy with this box. I really look forward to it every month.

Ipsy October 2018

Let’s knock out another post while we can!

See my Vegan Cuts Makeup Box post for what I mean.

Ipsy is $10 a month and you get 5-6 deluxe sample sometimes full sized beauty items. I really want to get on the Ipsy Plus wait list!

This months bag itself is red leather type material with a masquerade mask made of flowers embossed on it. I actually really like it.

SL Miss Glam L50 Brush

This brush is so pretty that I almost don’t want to use it!

The hairs are really soft, will be fantastic for blending.

Catherine Malandrino L’Energie De New York

This fragrance smells nice. It reminds me of Clinique happy, which reminds me of my mom.

Tarte Shape Tape “Light Sand”

This mini is so cute. It is darker than the shade I usually buy, but I think it may work well for covering blemishes. I usually use Shape Tape just under my eyes.

Nomad Cosmetics “Stockholm”

I really enjoy the Nomad shadow formula. I was actually very tempted to purchase their palette that just came out.

Stockholm is a really pretty cranberry shade and I can’t want to put it on my eyes.

Space Case Cosmic Gangster Blush

This packaging is so cute. I love UFO/Aliens. I had never heard of this brand previously, so I am super interested in finding out more about them.

The shade is very light. But I have pale skin, this would be great for spring. A light pretty pink.

I am very happy with my Ipsy bag this month! What was in your Ipsy bag?

Vegan Cuts Makeup Box Fall 2018 | Glitz & Glamour

I have really been slacking in my posting this week. I just really haven’t been feeling at my best, or anywhere close to it.

But, I actually feel a bit up today, so I am going to write and schedule as many posts as I can!

I have some spooky movies playing, a face mask on, a fall candle lit and I am ready to do this.

……

The Vegan Cuts Makeup box comes quarterly and I believe it is around $35 a quarter. Much cheaper than other quarterly subscriptions.

Axiology Lip Crayon “Valor” $26

I have really been wanting to try Axiology products, specially their face products. But lips are a start. This is a conditioning lip crayon with a matte finish. Sounds perfect.

The shade “Valor” looks perfect for fall. I am off to a good start.

Aesthetica Color Correcting Concealer $18

I have just never taken to color correcting. Now that I have some products to do so with I may give it a go.

I may just pass this along to someone else though. I can’t decide.

Manna Kadar Cosmetics Brow Trio $21

I love brow powders and this powder is super soft and pigmented.

I can’t wait to actually put them on my brows. I think the middle shade might be a nice match.

Au Naturale Pore Minimizing Finishing Powder $26

I am all for pore minimizing. I have some big pores and the extra help to minimize them is always wanted.

I have actually heard great things about this product, which makes me even more excited to use it. Weird to be excited over a finishing powder.

Bonus Tool: MOTD Rose Gold Vegan Leather Canvas Bag $27

I really want to try the MOTD brushes. I am glad to have this bag though. It is great quality and super cute as well. Very sleek.

I am really happy with the fall box. I might not use the color corrector, but everything else still makes the box well worth it’s price!

Dose Of Colors x Desi x Katy | Friendcation

I wasn’t going to fall prey to the appeal of this collection, then I saw it in store and here we are.

I picked up two items from the Friendcation collection. The eyeshadow palette $55 and the highlighter in Fuego $28.

I thought about picking up their new liquid velvet lip formula. But why change a good thing? I LOVE their original liquid lip formula. I ended up getting one of the shades on their regular line “Supernatural” $18.

I don’t watch Desi or Katy, no real reason why. But, I do love Dose of Colors, they are a fantastic cruelty free brand with beautiful products.

I do have to say, the packaging for this line is very pretty. It’s gold an elegant and seems very sturdy. It also isn’t bulky, which is great. I hate bulky packaging.

I really enjoy that the lids do have magnetic closet.

The Eyeshadows

There are ten shadows 5 mattes and 5 metallic finishes.

Row one:

  • Basic- a matte cream
  • Cheens- a dark matte warm brown
  • Necessary- a light matte brown, literally the best transition color ever.
  • Dirty Money- a metallic green with gold.
  • A Moment- a metallic blue with purple.

Row 2

  • Try Me- a stunning metallic copper
  • Just a Kiss- a metallic gold
  • Girl Bye- a matte almost burgundy. I don’t really know how to describe this.
  • Churro- a midtone warm matte brown
  • Game over- deep metallic blue with black

The Look

  • After priming my eyes I went in with Basic all over my eyes.
  • I went into Cheens and used it as my transition shade.
  • Next I deepened the crease up a bit with Just a Kiss
  • On the outer third of my lid and my outer crease I applied Girl Bye.
  • All over the rest of my lid I applied Dirty Money.
  • Obviously there was a lot of blending done. I used mainly Morphe and ELF brushes.
  • I also applied the worst wing I’ve done in ages.

  • I used Churro in my inner corner.
  • Under my eyes I used the same matte shades I used in my crease in the same order in essentially the same way.

The Highlighter “Fuego”

I decided to pick up Fuego because I had heard Jkissa raving about it. She said it doesn’t apply as dark as it looks like it would. I figured from this that it may work on my light skin tone.

At this point I was not too confident.

I do think it applied nicely. It is very smooth and pigmented.

When applied and blended out I do this it looks rather nice and I have been reaching for it frequently!

Over All – The Palette

I think the palette is beautiful. All the mattes are fantastic and i really like Dirty Money and Game Over as far as Metallics go. I do not like the other three metallics much, I just don’t like that chunky glitter texture where the shadows seem almost flaky.

So, would I purchase this again? No. Am I glad I have it? Yes! I will still be able to get a ton of great looks, but for $55 I want to love every shade, not just most of them.

Over All- The Highlight

I love it.

I have nothing but good things to say. It is buttery, pigmented, and easy to apply and blend out. It works great as an inner corner and brow bone highlight also.

I am very glad that I picked this up!

Boxy Charm Oct 2018 | Alter Ego

I don’t know how to start this post. I have no motivation today. Work was a struggle to get through and I just want to sleep.

But, I wanted to get this post up so that I could get the contents of my BoxyCharm put away.

BoxyCharm is $21 a month, it contains five full sized makeup and beauty products.

It Cosmetics Super Hero Mascara $24

I have gone through a few sample sizes of this mascara and I really like it. I never buy high end mascaras so I love getting them in boxes, especially when it is one that I know I enjoy.

It is Cruelty Free

Get 10% off the It Cosmetics website plus 3 free samples until 11/15/18 with code JUST4YOUBOXY

Dermovia Lace A Peel black bamboo charcoal peel off mask $30

This mask seems pretty neat. You apply the product to your face then use the lace masks to compress it into your skin for 15-20 minuets.

I will have to give it a try and let you know if it is worth the $30 price tag.

Brand claims to be cruelty free

Pür Midnight Masquerade Palette $38

This palette claims to be a full face palette. The large pans are the face products and the the small ones are shadows. FYI, the only matte is a dark brown shadow.

I am going to try to do a full face with this in a future post.

Above are some of the shades swatched. Searches aren’t reliable when it comes to how a product will look on your face, but right now I don’t think I will get a nice look with this on my fair skin.

Pür is Cruelty Free and this palette is vegan friendly.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick “K-Dub” $20

Thankfully, I got a shade I didn’t already have a full size of. I did have an unopened sample size that I am going to throw in with my best friends birthday gift.

It isn’t a shade I would gravitate toward, but I will definitely try it sense I love the formula.

I really want to pick up the shade “Bow N’ Arrow” and “Tank Girl”

Kat Von D is Cruelty Free

Farmacy Beauty Green Clean Makeup melting balm $22

I am quite happy to have gotten this in the box, I have been wanting to give it a try. I like the color of it and it smells nice. I hope it works well.

Farmacy is Cruelty Free

Over all, this isn’t the best or worst box. If the palette works or is at least good quality it will be a good box.

The Green Clean and mascara make the box worth it for me. I wish I would have gotten a different lip shade. I don’t much like pink. As for the face mask, I am going to have to try it to form any type of feelings towards it.

Makeup Slayve Autumn Equinox Palette | Indie Spot Light

The more I watch main stream brands come out with more releases, the more redundant everything seems. Which has propelled my journey into Cruelty Free Indie Beauty brands.

I have made posts about indie brands in the past, but I am going to be exploring more!

To start we are going to talk about Makeup Slayve. I purchased their new Autumn Equinox palette and their highlighter pan in Snow Queen.

Autumn Equinox $35

The packaging is very cute and compact. Instead of a mirror there is a a quote that reads,

” Take time to watch the leaves turn.”

I quite like that.

The shade names are on the back of the palette.

This palette contains 6 matte and 3 shimmer shades.

The matters are literally the MOST buttery mattes I have ever felt in my life!

The shimmers, unfortunately are pretty basic- nothing to write home about.

Starting from the wrist back

  • Fuzzy Flannel- a shimmer teal
  • Cherry Blossom- a matte mauvy pink
  • Pumpkin Pie- a matte orange
  • Spiked Cider- a matte mustard yellow
  • Trick 4 Treats- a purple shimmer
  • Jean Jacket- a matte navy blue
  • Witch please- a matte purple
  • Cranberry Sauced- a matte brown mauve
  • Ugg Boots- a shimmery taupe

The matte shades are spectacular, I don’t think I have better matter shadows than these.

The shimmers, as I said, are pretty basic.

There is a ton of powder kick up, but that’s because they are not pressed as hard as most shadows.

The Look

  • After priming my eyes I buffed “Spiked Cider” all over my lid and almost up to my brow bone.
  • I did the same thing with “Pumpkin Pie” but not as high up.
  • I then placed “Cherry Blossom” on the inner and outer third of my lid.
  • I placed “Cranberry Sauced” on top of that
  • Tons of blending
  • I placed “Fuzzy Flannel” in the center on my lid.

I repeated these steps on the lower lash line.

I popped “Ugg Boots” in my inner Corner.

For my High Light I used Snow Queen

It is a really pretty stark white highlight. It is not pressed hard and it really packs a punch!

It is also only $10!

Over all

I am buying more of their shadows, particularly the mattes. I just can’t get over how awesome they are!

I also plan on ordering more of their highlights. I also want to try their blushes.

You can purchase their products Here.

Tarte Shape Tape Hydrating Foundation | All day wear test + Review

Do fall allergies just destroy anyone else? All the stuff in the air here in Missouri just ruins me. I apologize for how TERRIBLE i look in these pictures a head of time.

I purchased the Tarte Shape Tape foundation while it was on sale for $23 at Ulta. Which is the only reason I bought it. I love the concealer, but didn’t really have interest in the foundation- until the stupid sale. Always gets me.

It usually retails for $39 at Ulta.

I wasn’t even going to review the foundation. Then I forgot to put primer on the other day and figured why not? So I have tried it with and with out primer and setting it. You have actually already seen it in most of my recent pictures with primer. ( Look at the most recent selfie on my Instagram @manda_janette)

7:19 AM

I like the doe foot applicators on foundation. It isn’t hygienic, but I’m lazy. I like buffing it in with a brush or with a beauty blinder- either way works. As I said I forgot a primer, I did sent my under eyes though. Nothing else.

It is super easy to apply and I find that porcelain is a great match for me. I am pretty fair.

I also want to mention that I have combination, scared up blemish prone skin. This foundation has pretty decent coverage.

11:44 AM

I apologize for the picture quality, I was in my office.

Not much break down besides under my eyes. It’s normal for break down under my eyes. My nose and chin aren’t looking too shabby. Coverage is still good. Impressed so far.

3:13 PM

I apologize for what you just had to see!

As you can see, everything, including my Liquid Cat Suit liquid lip, is broken down.

My nose, eyes and for head have really deteriorated. The sides of my face aren’t looking too good either.

Please ignore my watery eyes and hives, like I said, ALLERGIES.

Thoughts w/o primer and setting:

It held up for a good four or five hours. I was surprised it held up that long. Never again will I got with out primer and setting though. I just don’t like doing that. Yes foundations break down, but the way this one hardcore broke down around 7-8 hours, just not happy with that.

W/ Primer and Setting:

I didn’t want to like this foundation, but I do. A lot.

I have it on in the above pictures and it looks great, and it stayed that way the entire night out.

It is easy to apply, doesn’t feel heavy, and wears very well ( with primer and being set) for a hydrating foundation.

Will I repurchase? If it is on sale yes. Full price, no. I have too many inexpensive foundations that I enjoy just as much.

šŸŽƒšŸŽƒšŸŽƒšŸŽƒ out of five pumpkins. Lost a pumpkin for the shade range that they threw at the world and the fact that it is nearly $40..but there are drugstore foundations I like just as much.

Have you tried this foundation? What are your thoughts?

Revolution Emily Edit | The Needs

I spent all day thinking it was Wednesday, sadly it is Tuesday.

But, not sadly, we get to talk about inexpensive cruelty free makeup!

Not only is this face and eye palette only $15 and cruelty free, but It was created with an amazing YouTuber.

I have been watching EmilyNoel83 since i was 13 years old- almost ten years. She is the person who taught me most of what I know about makeup, how to take care of my skin and hair, and really helped me discover my love for makeup.

She is a fantastic role model. A strong woman and she has the most adorable little family. She really is a wholesome, amazing person and I am proud to say that she is someone that I really look up to!

Enough of my rambling, typing that was making me emotional hah!

The inside

As you can see my palette is already getting a ton of love. I wanted to really play with it before I have my opinion.

The Packaging

The palette itself s a light baby pink, I am not one for pink but this is cute.

It is made of a hard sturdy plastic and has a GREAT mirror.

I am very impressed with the packaging for how inexpensive it is.

The Face Products

  • Courage- a darker bronzer, don’t be afraid it is really easy to sheer out and make lighter.
  • Joy- a warm toned blush. I actually found this blush to be patchy, but if you work with light layers it looks pretty
  • Gratitude- a subtle very light gold highlight. This isn’t my usual highlight taste, but it makes sense to be in this palette because Emily loves subtle highlights.
  • Kindness- A light under eye setting powder. I love that this is included in this palette, it makes it even better for travel. The powder works great.

Over all I really enjoy the face products. At first I didn’t like the blush or bronzer. But, using a light hand with a fluffy brush they look beautiful.

The highlight isn’t for me, I like BAM highlights, I have been using Gratitude to highlight my brow bone and inner corner a lot though.

Like my giraffe shirt? I got it at TJ Max!!

The Eye Shadows

  • Honesty- a matte orange peachy shade
  • Passion- a dark purple with glitter
  • Peace-a mid tone warm cream
  • Faith- a warm brown
  • Hope- a chocolate brown
  • Love- essentially the same shade as kindness.

All of the shades are matte, besides passion. I wish love would have been replaced with something like a light pink shimmer. You really don’t need the shade of Love with Kindness in the palette.

I really like the formula of the shadows. They are easy to blend and pretty pigmented for the price. Definitely Emily shades!

Please ignore the mascara dot on my eye, I couldn’t be bothered with cleaning it up.

I do this simple look with this palette most days when I have work. On this day I had family stuff.

  • I start with blending Peace high in my crease and all over my lid
  • I then take Faith more in the crease.
  • I deepen up my outer edge with hope.
  • I place Honesty all over my lid
  • I highlight my inner corner and brown bone with Gratitude.

Super quick and easy look.

Over All

If you don’t mind learning a bit to work with the blush and bronzer I think this palette is a fantastic deal. It is really all you need as far as powder products for travel.

The formula is nice and it is only $15!! I have to say I have just been crazy and Revolution Makeup recently.

šŸŽƒšŸŽƒšŸŽƒšŸŽƒ out of 5 pumpkins. You have to work with the blush and bronzer and Kindness and Love are too similar.

But, over all I really do enjoy this palette and, as you can see in the pictures, I use it a lot.

You can pick it up Here!

Have you tried this palette yet? What did you think?

The most BASIC Halloween Makeup!

I love spooky season. Honestly though, all year is spooky season to me!

I found a shirt I bought ages ago with Freddy and Jason on it and it inspired me to do the most basic AF and easy Halloween look.

Literally SO easy!

I used two inexpensive eye palettes to do this, and any higher end products I used can easily be replaced with drug store products.

The palettes I used

Morphe X Jaclyn Hill “Ring the alarm” $15

I used Access as my transition and Secure to deepen the crease a bit.

BH cosmetics Festival Palette currently $10.80 at Ulta!!

I placed Hippie all over my lid.

I used Spirit to high light my brow bone.

I used Kandi as my inner corner high light.

I then used Access and Secure on my water line. I also tried to pack Hippie closer to the last line.

I lined my eyes and did a TRASH wing with the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. (The NYC Epic Ink liner is a good replacement at the drugstore.)

Crazy easy, but still Halloweeny, as Coty called it.

I hope you enjoyed this short post and easy AF eye look!!
