Marc Jacobs (Under) Cover Coconut Face Primer | Sample Series

* I can only speak for short term use of this product, from a sample packet*

The Marc Jacobs (Under) Cover Coconut Perfecting Face Primer, has been all over YouTube. The packaging is beautiful, and it is connected to a brand that screams luxury beauty.

From the site:

“What it is:
A skin-smoothing, makeup-extending primer infused with five types of coconut to nourish and hydrate the complexion.

What it does:
Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer brings the refreshing feel of coconut to your face while it perfects and extends makeup wear. With its hydrating, nutrient-rich formula, it is especially ideal for normal to dry skin types to create a smooth and improved skin surface before applying foundation. It’s enriched with concentrated coconut extracts that form a natural, vitamin-rich barrier between your skin and makeup. The coconut water-derived polysaccharide complex mirrors the effect of synthetic priming ingredients, allowing your skin to breathe without compromising the skin-perfecting benefits. The result is makeup that stays on longer and skin that appears younger-looking and better than ever.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Parabens
– Sulfates
– Phthalates

What else you need to know:
Under(Cover) is inspired by Marc Jacobs’s love of coconut water, and a “deconstructed coconut.” The five most essential coconut ingredients help prime and smooth skin:
Coconut fruit: features skin-boosting vitamins and antioxidants.
Coconut water: features nutrients for hydration and smoothing.
Coconut milk: helps prime and smooth the complexion and blur imperfections.
Coconut polysaccharides: help prime the complexion.
Coconut extract: provides a natural coconut fragrance.

Research results:
In an independent consumer study of 32 women wearing Under(cover) for over 8 hours:
– 100% agreed Under(cover) smoothed rough patches
– 100% agreed skin felt smoother with Under(cover)
– 97% agreed Under(cover) improved skin’s surface
– 97% agreed Under(cover) provided a smooth canvas for foundation”

This primer cost $44. Get it, here, from

My experience and thoughts:

I like this primer. But, I do not like it anymore than the one from Too Faced. The Marc Jacob’s primer feels, smells, and works fantastic. I was curious about how clean the ingredients are, so I looked up the product, then the first few ingredients on, there was no info about the Marc Jacobs primer, and very little about any of the ingredients. Marc Jacobs Beauty is CF, their fragrances however, are not (According to Cruelty Free Kitty). So, not really a brand that I want to buy from in general.

I think this is a great product, but not one I am willing to pay $44 for, when I like one, that is almost exactly the same, for around $10 less. The packaging just isn’t as pretty on the cheaper version.

Hope you enjoyed this short post. Thank you for reading! What do you think of this Marc Jacobs primer? Which coconut primer is your favorite? Comment below! You can also find me on Instagram and Snapchat as manda_janette

My experience:

I hate the smell. It smells like black licorice, which I really dislike. So that is a big mark off itself sense I have to set around for 15 minuets with it on my face. As time wearing it drug on, my face started to burn. At the time of use my face was severely broken out, so I was hoping that this mask would improve my condition. Preferably with out pain.

10 minuets after washing the mask off my face, I took a look into the mirror. This mask works! The first time! The nasites on my face were sucked dry. I am incredibly impressed. If you can deal with the smell and pain, this mask is 100% worth what is costs.

However, I can not deal with the smell. The pain, whatever beauty is pain, but the sent is too much. It sounds like such a small down fall, but it is sitting there, on your face, for an extended period of time. The scent doesn’t go away either after rinsing off the mask. I just can not do it.

What Glam Glow masks do you like? What scent can you not stand? Comment below! I hope you enjoyed this little sample review, you can find more on Instagram and Snapchat manda_janette

Influenster and ELF Vox Box | Un-Boxing

Before I start….I had a few Un-Boxing posts planed for this week. But, my terrible new post man has put all but this one package in the wrong post box. He put it in the lacked post box of an empty apartment. SO, if his mistake is ever corrected, then I may have a few more from other companies coming up! Now, to the box that actually got to me.

If you have ever read my blog before, than you already know I love ELF. Like seriously, love them. They are cruelty free and a ton of their products are vegan. They are also insanely inexpensive! When I was chosen to get this box, there was no way I was going to turn down free ELF products!

The whole idea of it is to introduce new people to ELFs new skin care, but they did throw in two makeup products as well, I think I will start with those!

The first makeup product is something I already love. The Matte Lip Color in the shade “Wine”. I have all of the shades of their matte lip colors, and wear them constantly. Sense I already have this product, I am throwing the one I got in this Vox Box in one of my friends Christmas gifts.

The second makeup product is the Baked Highlight and Bronzer Duo in “Bronzed Glow”.

Guys, their normal baked highlighters disappoint me, bit this one is beautiful! I can not wait to use it and do a full review. This is the duo swatched, dry!

Now to the skin care!

The first skin care type item is one that y’all already know that I am obsessed with. The ELF Lip Exfoliator. In the Vox Box I got the Mint Maniac flavor, which isn’t my top pick, but it will be good to have as a back up when the one I just got runs out!

The next thing is the ELF Mineral Infused Primer. I am like 99% positive this is the first ever primer I ever used. And from memory I really liked it. I am looking forward to trying it out again, especially for y’all. (So sweet.)

The last thing in the box is something I have been wanting to try, but just never purchased. The ELF Hydrating Bubble Mask. This is supposed to work really well and it seems pretty neat. I do not have any other masks that squeeze out the top the way that this one does, kind of cool. I am excited to try this one out.

Want to join Influenster yourself? Sign up, here! It is a fun and easy way to get stuff for free!

I hope you enjoyed this post! What are your thoughts on these products? Comment below! Want more B&T? Check this out! You can also find me on Instagram and Snapchat as manda_janette

Petit Vour August 2016 Un-Boxing

Before I begin the actually post, I just wanted to include a small, sad, announcement. After vet trips and being put on multiple medications, Peaches my pet rat, passed away. It has been a really hard day here. Just wanted to let everyone know, so if I seem a bit of for this post and maybe the next few, that is why. Continue reading “Petit Vour August 2016 Un-Boxing”

August 2016 Boxycharm UN-Boxing!

Here’s another sub box for y’all to peak into. Boxycharm is $21 (free us shipping). It usually has 4-5 most full-sized, sometimes deluxe sample sized products. This month the theme of the box is”express yourself”.

The first product is The Coastal Scents Blush+Bronzer mini palette, with the bonus item; an angled blush brush.

It is supposed to be worth a total of $19.95. Upon first impression, I am not too over the moon with the palette. It doesn’t swatch all that great, but it still may apply beautifully on the face. I guess we will all find out in up coming posts. The brush is small, but very soft. I am going to try to get use out of it.

Next, we’ve got the Aloette Aloepure Time Repair Serum. A $48 value! Skin care is expensive, but IF it is good it can be worth it.

This serum is supposed to be good for all skin types, smooth away dead skin cells, protect against free radicals, and diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Those are some bold claims, but I am willing to try anything that will smooth and protect my skin. If it is cruelty free that is, LIKE THIS SERUM! It is also a farm to jar certified item, so it is going to be more natural than other skin care. I really want to try more green skin care and makeup, even more green than this.

The next item is this really pretty velvet matte liquid lipstick from Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics. It is a $9 value.

From what I am seeing they are cruelty free AND vegan, though I am personally trying to focus on CF. But, after checking Logical Harmony’s Brand list I didn’t see it. I actually emailed Logical Harmony to see if anything was know. Hopefully I get an answer, if not, I understand they are busy!

It is a pretty shade though, named “phantom”, which is right up my alley. I swatched it over my tattoo so the opacity, with one dip into the product could be shown. Not bad for $9!

This next product is neat, but also aggravated me some. Amplimascara by Make-up Eraser, is a $23 product, that seems like it is supposed to be magic. It is supposed to last all day and night, not flake, smudge, clump, or cause irritation. It also contains no parabens.

The package says that it will gift you lift, volume, curl, and be super black. Sounds nice right? Well, apparently it is part of a kit. Will it even work on its own if it is just a serum?! Why not just sent the fibers with it, it is literally on sale right now, $28 for the kit. Just $5 more!

A little insert in the box says that the best way to remove it is with a damp Make-up Eraser….Really? Is the best way to remove a makeup product made by a brand who MADE a makeup remover cloth, with said cloth? Who would have guessed. I will be reviewing this, might even buy the fibers to see how it all works.

The last item in the box is this  Shadow STX by Beauty for Real. It is a $19 value.

This shadow is cream to powder, CF, supposedly long wearing, and infused with meadowfoam seed oil (whatever that is) to moisturize.

This shade is amazing. It is going to look beautiful on the eye. As you can see in the swatch, this dude is pigmented! It was also pretty hard to remove from my arm with a makeup wipe. Which can be a good or bad thing, depending on who you are.

That is it for my Boxy Charm!

What did you think of this post?  Which items are you curious about? Do you get Boxy Charm? Let’s talk below or through email

August 2016 Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Un- Boxing.

Hello fellow beauty junkies.

Today I bring you my August 2016 Vegan Cuts beauty box unboxing. If you are unaware of what Vegan Cuts is, you are really missing out. It is a website where you can buy all sorts of natural, CF, and vegan stuff! They have 3 different sub boxes. A snack one, which I don’t get because I am a picky eater and know what I like. I really like kale chips to snack on, FYI. A beauty box; which is what this post is about, and a makeup box (which is annual) that I have also reviewed.

In this box you get 4-7 products each month and it is only $18.75!! Sign up here, P.S. Not an affiliate link.

In this months box, I got a few things I have been wanting to try, because I have read rave reviews from other CF bloggers. It is pretty exciting, let’s jump in!

Yes to Carrots (tomatoes) detoxifying charcoal facial wipes $5.99 value:

In one of Rhian HY’s recent videos she talks about these puppies. Says they are, “The most goth face wipe I have ever seen.” Makes me giggle. This spiked my interest in them, so I was very excited to see them in my box!

Derma E Purifying Daily Detox Scrub $2 Value:

I love little travel scrubs, because I do travel quite often…at least to my parents house. I have heard good things about this brand, glad I get to try a sample. Apparently it has marine algae in it, neat.

You can also get a personalized vegan skin care routine at

If you use the code VEGAN16 at check out you can get 20% off!!

Green and Gorgeous Organics Lavender and Bergamot Dry Shampoo $7.99 value:

I have yet to try a natural dry shampoo, I am interested to see how well it works. I am very elated that it is scented with my favorite scent combination!

Adorn Cosmetics Mineral Loose Illuminiser Sample $5 Value:

Inside a small sample pot, like the ones some Sephoras use to put foundation samples in, was a lose powder. When spread out the powder gives off a really pretty peachy glow. I am a bit put off by the packaging, it can get messy. BUT, I want to make a point to use it, it is beautiful and it is an Australian brand, which I think is kind of neat. I wouldn’t pay $5 for the small amount of product though.

If you use the code VEGANCUTS during checkout you will receive $10 off your purchase on their site.

Deco Miami Polish in “Petite Palm” $12.50 value:

Let me start of by saying, is the packaging not perfect!? Even the box is too cute to throw away! This is an 8 -free polish or top coat. The box says 2 coats should do the trick. I can’t wait to test it out. Really glad that I got the one in my favorite color. It even matches my bed sheets, which I decided to use as the back ground until I can decide on a more permanent flat lay. Sorry that it isn’t super crisp.

Pacifica Color Quench Lip tint in “Sugared Fig” $7 value:

I let out an embarrassing squeal when I saw this product in my box. Tashina from Logical Harmony recently posted a video of her 5 favorite vegan and CF lip balms. This was one of them! I was going to buy it on my own over the weekend while I was at Target, now I don’t have too. Even though I will probably buy more. The shade is very perfect for my natural lip color, it adds a tint but just enough. It also smells delicious. It makes me think of candy stores!

What do you think of this box? I am in love! What are your favorite CF and/or Vegan LIP PRODUCTS? Let’s discuss in the comments!
