BoxyCharm Unboxing | November 2019!

Welcome!

Today, we are going to look inside the, now, $25 a month basic BoxyCharm subscription. Specifically the November 2019 “Stellar” box.

Each month you will still receive 5 full sized, sometimes super deluxe sample sized beauty products. It appears that the over all value of the box is going to be high, but we will see if it is worth the price increase.

I did want to mention that I will not be purchasing the $35 a month BoxyCharm subscription. I already get BoxyLuxe, as well as Ipsy Ultimate and other boxes, so I just couldn’t justify it at this time.

Now, to what you are actually here for. The products!

Becca Ultimate Coverage Foundation sample packets.

I wanted to include this little addition, because it is neat. BC sent out sample cards so you could find your best shade match. This is so you can relay the findings to them, and they can send out the correct complexion products. I am excited about the possible new additions to the box.

Tula Skincare Star Power Nourishing and Brightening Cosmic Hydrogel Mask, set of 2. $22

These masks contain an acne gel with 2% salicylic acid. I do suffer from break outs, and I will be testing out these masks and reporting back to you all once I have a chance to try them.

Kypris Antioxidant Dew Quench and Glow Serum $90

I am very excited to see a product from Kypris. I have heard amazing things about this clean, and expensive beauty brand. This product is in collaboration with BC and has made a great addition to my skin care routine. It has really helped my cold dry skin not look as flaky and dry. It also serves well under makeup as a primer.

BoxyCharm 2 Piece Brush set $35

Here we have a foundation brush and a large oval brush, that they say is good for powders, creams, and minerals. The brushes are very soft and do their job well. I would not pay $35 for them, but I wouldn’t do that for just two brushes from any brand. I do enjoy the brushes and will continue to use them.

Dose of Colors Liquid Lip “New Mood” $18

The DOC liquid lip formula is one of my favorites. I am surprised that I didn’t already own this shade, because it is beautiful!

Nude mood is a peachy nude and wears very comfortably on the lips. Per the DOC usual!

Dominique Cosmetics Celestial Thunder Eyeshadow Palette (Mini Version) $35

Dominique Cosmetics recently came out with the Celestial Thunder palette. This is a smaller version of said palette, but just happens to have the shades that caught my eye.

Here are the shades swatched. I will not say much about the palette now, as I have an in depth Subscription Box Win or Whomp post coming up about it, which will include a different look than the one in this post!

I also wanted to include the sales that boxy included this month, Incase any of you were interested!

Over all thoughts and the products on my face!

Please disregard the bumps on my face. I am currently having an allergic reaction all over me. We tried a new detergent. My body did not like it. AT ALL.

over all, I am super happy with this boxy! The Kypris serum alone made the $25 price tag more than worth it!

My box came to a flat total of $200. I have to say. I see the price increase in my items. I mean come on, an amazing $90 skin care item was included! And it’s from a beautiful brand!

What was in your BoxyCharm this month? Would you like to see more reviews of any of these items?

BoxyCharm Unboxing | October 2019

It’s Boxy time guys!

Before we begin, BoxyCharm is making some changes next month. They are making a $35 premium box, which I will not be subbing to, well I’m going to try to stop my self. The regular BoxyCharm is going to go up to $25 a month rather than $21. But! You will get to pick one item in your box, and they are also going to be doing add ons like Ipsy does. The value of the box has also gone up to $125, but I feel like the boxes are usually worth more than that any way.

Now that the technical stuff is done, let’s get into the fun stuff!

Dose of Colors Eyeshadow Palette in Baked Browns $32

The box is already paid for plus some! I have been wanting to try these little palettes, but just never picked them up. I would have like to receive one of the other variations, but this is still a nice palette that I will get use out of. A super easy palette to reach for, for a quick grungy eye look.

The shadows are buttery and actually very easy to blend. They are pretty powdery though so be aware. I also wanted to mention that the little brush included is pretty useful, which is always a nice little extra!

Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator “Diamond Dust” $26

I have this highlighter in a little holiday trio, and it is the only shade I use. I am happy to have the full size so I can pass that trio along. Diamond Dust has a beautiful pink shift to it.

Iconic London Lip Pluming Gloss “Nearly Nude” $26

This gloss is a great my lips but better shade. You can feel the tingly sensation from the plumping ingredient, which I enjoy the feeling of. This gloss isn’t sticky, like at all. I can see myself getting quite a bit of use out of this gloss, which is not something I say often.

Touch In Sol Pretty Filter Glassy Skin Balm $32

I never understood or got into the glassy skin trend. So, I did not have high hopes for this product. However, I actually really like it. It reminds me a lot of the Unicorn primer I got in my Ipsy. It made my skin smooth and lit from within glowy.

Illuminati Cosmetics Sponge $21

Okay, this thing. It does expand with water and it worked really well with my setting powder. BUT, everything else was bad. It’s really hard and absorbs so much product. Maybe I will use it a few more times to see if I grow to enjoy it, but first impression- this is not a sponge that I enjoy. I don’t understand how it is $21.

Over all thoughts?

Besides the sponge, I really enjoyed my boxy this month. I got something I have been wanting, something I already know I love, and two surprise awesome items! For $21 I got $137 worth of beauty products. Not bad, not bad at all!

What was in your Boxy? Would you like in depth reviews of any of these products?

Subscription box Win or Womp | Butter London Natural Goddess Palette

I am finally back on it with the Palette reviews.

Eyeshadows are my favorite makeup product. And certain palettes and shades are incredibly inspiring.

As I have been exploring Mercari and what not more, I have noticed people searching out palettes and products that have come in subscription boxes. Which prompted this idea for a new series on my blog!

To kick off Subscription Box Win or Womp I decided to play with the beautifully packaged Butter London Natural Goddess Eyeshadow Palette.

The Specs:

Butter London is a 100% Cruelty Free brand. The Natural Goddess Palette retails for $32 on their website, Here. This palette is also paraben free, which is great.

Please keep in mind, Carmine is a color additive in some of the shades, meaning this is not a vegan product!

The packaging is slim and beautiful. It contains a built in mirror. It is a nice little size to travel with.

The shades

There are four shimmer shades, as well as two matte shades.

Enchantress: Shimmering Sand

Queen: Shimmering Copper

Star: Metallic Green

Diva: Metallic Gold

Temptress: Matte chocolate brown, with a bit of a red under tone.

Femme Fatale: Matte turquoise

A simple explanation of the look I did

  • I started with a fluffy crease brush and used temptress to lightly define my crease. I later went in a deepened it just a bit.
  • I took a flat shaded brush and applied diva to the inner half of my lid.
  • Using the other side of the same brush, I applied star to the rest of my lid.
  • With a bit fluffier of a shading brush, I applied queen on to my inner corner, and a little bit on to the first part of my lid.
  • Using that same brush I applied enchantress to my brow bone. Speaking of, please ignore my brows, I am trying to let them grow.

All I did for my lower lash line was use a blue liner, then smoked it out with Femme Fatale.

This look was quick and easy to do. All the shades are buttery and easy to work with.

Win or Womp?

This was a hard one to start out with! While I do think it is a great palette for someone who just wants some lid shades, a matte, and a pop of color, I wouldn’t go out of my way to purchase it unless that is all you want. I also wish that this palette had a matte transition shade. Which in theory, you could use the Femme Fatale shade for.

My final conclusion. I will be keeping this in my collection, so for me it is a WIN. But, on the other hand I don’t think this is a palette anyone really needs to run out and get, so win for me, Womp for the idea of going out and purchasing it.

Have you tried this palette? What are your thoughts?

Thank you for reading 🥰

BoxyLuxe Un-Boxing | September 2019

Hey guys!

Today I bring you a BoxyLuxe un-boxing! BoxyLuxe is $49 every quarter and contains 7-8 full sized beauty products.

This months theme is “All Access” and it appears that I got version 8.

Violet Voss Essentials Eyeshadow Palette $29

If you have been following my blog for a while, you would know that I love Violet Voss shadows. In fact, they have one of my favorite shadow formulas.

I really enjoy the color story of these palette. For just a 10 pan palette, I find it very inspiring.

The shadows are pigmented and very easy to blend. This palette is so easy to create beautiful looks with.

Dr. Brandt Hydro Biotic Recovery Sleeping Mask $52

This is the only product from the box I will not be using. When I have used sleeping masks in the past, the next day my skin has been extremely broken out. I am a little wary of using them, and do not want to risk it. I do have a family member who will really enjoy this product, so I will be passing it on to her.

Hank & Henry Blickity Black Eye Liner $20

This is the first Hank and Henry product I have tried, and I am happy to finally have the chance.

This liner has a brush tip applicator and it very pigmented. It reminds me a lot of the Kat Von D tattoo liner upon application. After trying the liner some I really enjoy it. I think it may be my new favorite!

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick “Angelo” $22

Stila’s liquid lipstick formula is beautiful. It dries down quickly and is very comfortable to wear. I highly recommend giving the Stay All Day Liquid lipsticks a try if you have not already!

Angelo is a little peachy nude. I think it is very complimentary of my skin tone.

Tarte Park Avenue Princess Palette $45

I have wanted this palette since it came out, but never picked it up. I am super excited to finally own it! The shades are beautiful, and the palette smells like chocolate. The palette is very sturdy with a great mirror, perfect for travel!

Glow Recipe Pineapple C-Bright Serum $49

This is another product that I have had my eye on. The packaging is cute and it smells like dole canned pineapples. The scent does dissipate rather quickly. The serum sunk in to the skin quickly, and actually worked lovely as a primer.

Moda 8 Pc Brush Kit $69.99

In this brush kit you get close to a full face of brushes. They are well made, very soft, and I have yet to notice any shedding with use. However, there is no way I would pay $69.99 for these brushes. That price seems very steep for what is more of a drugstore brush line.

IGK Mistress Hydrating Balm $29

I am all about leave in conditioner. I have thinker frizzy hair, and boy does it need hydration. I am really enjoying this Balm so far. It seems to be helping maintain smoothness in my hair through out the day, and the scent reminds me of a salon.

Above is a look done with all of the products included in this seasons box. Over all I really love everything and I am super happy with the version that I received.

For $49 I got $315.99 worth of product! Needless to say, I highly recommend giving BoxyLuxe a go.

Have you tried BoxyLuxe? What was your favorite item that you received?

BoxyCharm | August 2019

Welcome back to another Unboxing!

BC is around $22 a month. You receive 5 or more beauty products, they are usually full sized, but every now and then you get a deluxe sample size.

This months Box theme is Totally. I am not sure how this is a theme, but every thing is very pink.

I want to start off the Unboxing by saying social media spoiled this months box for me. I also did not get the variation I wanted, I really was hoping I would get the two Ace Beauté eyeshadow singles.

However, I did still get a pretty good box.

Becca Hydra Mist and Refresh Powder $39

I have been wanting to try this powder for a while now. Its concept is very interesting to me.

For me, the box has already been paid for, so everything else is essentially a bonus item! Which is always an awesome start to an Unboxing.

Wander Glow Ahead Illuminating Oil $42

Wander is a brand I actually really enjoy!

Glow ahead can be used alone or as a primer. It is meant to give your face a “bouncy youthful glow”. I can predict that I will be using this oil a lot come the dry winter and fall months.

Tarte Big Ego Mascara $23

The Big Ego wand looks suspiciously like the Better Than Sex wand.

I have never been disappointed by a Tarte Mascara, so I have high hopes for this hot pink package.

Pür Pink Glitter Mask 2oz. $26

This mask seems to be part of Pürs new collection with Barbie.

I don’t like glitter in my skincare, but I am willing do give it a try, just because the mask it self is hot pink. That’s a terrible reason, but whatever I am sticking to it!

Lashaholics Instagram False Lashes $14.99

I am not much of a false lash person, but I actually like how this pair looks. They aren’t too dramatic, but still have a glittery shape to them.

The box they come in is also super cute.

Over all thoughts?

It isn’t the best BC that I have gotten, but it isn’t the worst either. While I am disappointed I didn’t not get the shadows, I can by them off someone on Mercari.

I am quite happy with what I got. I would have spent $22 on the powder alone, so I am pretty satisfied! I can wear the falsies on one of my few and far between nights out on the town ( I live less than an hour from St. Louis). The mask will be fun for a girls night, and I love tarte mascaras!

What was in your August Boxy?

BoxyCharm Unboxing | July 2019

Yay, another Unboxing!

I promise I have more than just un-boxing’s coming up, just hang tight!

But for now, let’s see what is in this months $21 BoxyCharm!

This months theme is Au Naturale, which is super cool.

Elemis Super Food Vital Veggie mask $35

This mask is meant to nourish, smooth and brighten skin. Which sounds great! I always love trying new masks.

Every time I see an Elemis sneak peak for boxy I get my hopes up that it’ll be their makeup melting balm. Have any of you tried it? Is it worth the price?

Butter London Natural Goddess Eyeshadow Palette $32

The packaging is beautiful, but for some strange reason I did not have high hopes for the shadow quality. I am not quite sure why though.

The shades themselves look beautiful, it is not a stand alone palette for me, but that’s fine, I have a million of the shades that I would need to make a look with this palette.

The shades swatch beautifully. Soft and pigmented. I hope the work the same way on the eye.

Luxie Gaea 3 piece Brush Set $30

It is no secret that Luxie brushes are my favorite. So getting eco friendly brushes from them in this box is a great addition.

The brushes included are:

250 Large Eye Blending

246 Precision Crease

510 Foundation.

Alamar Cosmetics Des-Nude-As lip gloss “Dulce” $15

I love Alamar Cosmetics products. So I am stoked to get to try one of their glosses. The shade I got is a peachy nude, which I will definitely use.

Appeal Gel Liner Forest Green $21

This liner didn’t feel dry, or pull at all during swatching, so I have high hopes.

As someone with hazel eyes, I do love a green liner.

Over all thoughtS

I am very pleased with this months box! We got some awesome products that I am excited to try. I also really appreciate the natural theme that they followed this month. The only think that could have made it better would be throwing in something from a clean beauty brand.

What is your favorite green beauty products?

Thank you for reading 😘

A very late BoxyLuxe Unboxing | June 2019

I am late. My bad. But, better late than never I guess?

Let’s just get into this BoxyLuxe unboxing!

Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow Cheek Palette V3 $45

This box started off strong! I have wanted one of the Tarte Pro Glow palettes for a while, but never bought one.

The shades all work well with my skin tone, and I have been using it a ton since I got it!

Touch In Sol No Poreblem Essence Primer $23

I haven’t notice as much pore filling qualities as I do with their original primer. But, I do really like this. It turned my skin in to a super smooth canvas, and I have yet to find a foundation or concealer that it doesn’t mesh with.

Dominique Cosmetics Lemonade Lip Glass “Strawberry Lemonade” $17

Spoiler alert, this is my only dud in the box. I don’t really use glosses, much less really pink glosses. However, I do have it listed on my Poshmark @mandajanette for $10 so maybe I will get some extra cash from it!

PYT Mini Turbo On The Go Dryer $85

This hair dryer is so cute! It works so much better than the cheap conair one I was using, despite its small size. I love that it is so easy to travel with, and also came with attachments.

Dr.Brandt Clean Biotic PH Balanced Yogurt Cleanser with Chlorophyll. $35

I love Dr Brandt. I don’t think I have ever tried a product that didn’t work wonders for me. I am excited to used up my current face wash so I can move on to this one.

Farmacy Honeymoon Glow AHA Resurfacing Night Serum $58

Farmacy is another brand that has never done me wrong! This actually came at the perfect time, as my current night serum is on her last leg.

Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast $29

Who doesn’t want more volume in their hair? Lord knows I need it! I have already heard great things about this product, and when I tried it I was not disappointed.

Trestique Good Vibes Mascara $25

Let’s start with the little lash curler that is attached. It’s super small and I hate it. It’s just extra packaging. The mascara itself is awesome though! I have used it a ton since I got it.

Skin&Co Truffle Therapy Radiant Dew Mist $35

This stuff has been fantastic in the nasty humid weather we have been having. It is a really nice refresher through out the day, or to spray on before or after applying makeup.

Over all

I am blown away! This box was well worth the $49.95ish that it cost! BoxyLuxe is so exciting, I wish I could get It more often.

Here is my face after using all the products, but the lip gloss.

What is your favorite product from your BoxyCharm this month?
