Review/ 1st Impressions: Hard Candy Sheer Envy Hydrating Primer

I have heard a lot about the Hard Candy Sheer Envy Hydrating Primer on YouTube and I just had to try it for myself.

The Hard Candy Sheer Envy Hydrating Primer retails for $6.96 at Walmart.

The primer comes out as a blue jelly and feels very cooling and hydrating when you spread it on your face. Once it dries down it does feel a little bit sticky to the touch, but it isn’t bothersome on the face. It reminds me a ton of the Milk Hydrogrip primer. So much so that I do t feel the need to repurchase the Milk Hydrogrip primer now.

This picture was taken right after I applied my makeup. Everything sat very well on my skin. I made sure to use a foundation and concealer that I trusted to give the primer a fair chance.

Here we are four hours later. Everything is still looking good! I did notice my pores looked a bit large, but nothing I had on claimed to be pore filling.

Here we are 8 hours after application. I noticed makeup had rubbed off on my nose and my chin thanks to my mask. I also noticed that there was much less creasing under my eyes and in my smile lines than normal.

I highly recommend this primer. It is a great drugstore alternative to the Milk Hydrogrip Primer and it works wonders. It won’t break the bank and it does it’s job nicely.

Honest Beauty Everything Cream Foundation | Review and Wear Test!

Welcome to the next leg of my foundation journey! Today, we are going to talk about The Honest Beauty Everything Cream Foundation $21.99

When I was younger, I solely used the Avon cream foundation compact, and I did enjoy it. So I figured, why not try a more natural version!

Information straight from the Honest Beauty Site:

Our Everything Foundation Cream really is everything a girl could ask for in a foundation (and ask we did). It’s creamy demi-matte formula means the only shine you’re seeing is the lit-from-within, winning personality kind and its flexible medium-to-full coverage goes on smooth every time. Infused with jojoba oil that acts a whole lot like your skin already, it doesn’t just offer buildable coverage and a seamless finish but also helps keep your skin’s natural moisture barrier in balance

Ingredients:

“Jojoba Oil: rich in fatty acids and chemically similar to human sebum, helps to balance skin’s moisture barrier

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Mica, Castor Isostearate Beeswax Succinate, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Silica, Lauroyl Lysine, Glyceryl Behenate, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Tocopherol, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Glycerin, Water (Aqua), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Limonene, Linalool, Citral, Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499). May Contain: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891).”

I know for some people silica and mica, possibly, aren’t preferred Ingredients, for hard core green beauty enthusiasts, but for me, I am not too concerned about them.

I am in the lightest shade, Snow, and I have to say, this is the best shade for my skin tone. It’s fair with warm undertones. My perfect summer shade.

Application process:

I started by priming with the Honest Beauty Everything Matte Primer $21.99 which is a primer I already love. It really helps to create a matte base, which I think really increases the longevity of this Demi matte foundation.

Here is the foundation after initial application. Definitely a medium- buildable to full cover age foundation. I have the shade Snow.

One swipe

Next is displaying to coverage with a second layer.

Definitely buildable!

Application process

I layed this foundation down with a flat foundation brush from Luxie in my T-Zone and anywhere I needed more coverage and blended from there with a beauty blender. I used two layers and was very happy with the coverage.

Here we are 6 hours later. I have to say, I am happy with the wear! There is the typical T-Zone wear, but nothing got cakey and my blemishes stayed covered very well. I did originally set it with a loose translucent powder, but did not touch it up through out the day.

For a $21.99 price tag, I am very impressed with this foundation. This has been the best foundation I have tried in ages! It last well, and and doesn’t make the skin look TOO dewy, even after 6 hours!

As of right now, I will 200% repurchase this foundation once I go through it. It’s great for light wear in the summer, and a more heavy coverage for when we don’t have to worry about makeup melting off your face.

I highly recommend trying this one out for yourself. It’s cruelty free, versatile, and wears very well!

Sephora Favorites Clean Makeup Kit | What’s Inside!?

Sephora has a clean makeup section now, and if you are just getting into clean beauty, I think the Sephora Favorites Clean Makeup Kit $29 is a great, inexpensive way to try out products from a few different brands!

However; the real reason I bought this kit was because it contains two products o was already going to buy, so I figured why not get them, plus some!

So, what’s inside?

Āether Beauty “Rose Quartz “Crystal Gemstone Single Shadow

The Āether shadows have a beautiful formula, and I’m dying to get their palettes. This shade is a beautiful shimmery pink. I am enjoying it as a one and done shadow. I pack it all over the lid, then buff it into the crease. Perfect for summer!

Tarte Sufer Curl Mascara mini size

I do have the full size of this mascara and I have been loving it! I love throwing minis in my purse, I’m glad I can now take my new favorite mascara everywhere, without it taking up a ton of space.

RMS Beauty Living Glow Face and Body Powder travel size

If used lightly, this gold powder actually works pretty well as a highlight for my fairer skin tone. However, my favorite way to use it, is to mix it in with a moisturizer and lather it on my body. It gives such a beautiful summer glow!

Lilah B Lovingly Tinted Lip Oil “B. Elegant” travel size

I love lip oils lately. I used to hate them, but something has changed! The shade is a beautiful nude, and feels very comfortable on the lips.

Kosa Sport “Pulse” Hyaluronic Lip Balm Full Size

This is one of the items I was already going to purchase; the exact shade too! I have mainly been wearing tinted lip balms in my day to day life. I prefer a more red tint to them, they just give the lips such a pretty look. This formula is fabulous! It gives the lips so much moisturization!

Ilia Color Haze Multi Use Pigment “Before today” Full Size

I have been hearing some amazing reviewers for the color haze pigments, so I was dying to try them for myself. This was the other item I was already going to purchase! The more I am getting into clean beauty, the more I am loving cream products. I mainly use this one on my cheeks. It’s easy to blend and lasts all day!

That is it for the Clean makeup kit! I highly recommend purchasing it, it’s a great price and full of awesome items!

BoxyCharm Base July 2020 | Sunshine

It’s time for our monthly Boxy Charm Base unboxing.

The base box costs $25 a month. You get 5-6 sample and full sized beauty items.

Clean Skin Club Vitamin C Brightening Booster $49.95

This serum is meant to brighten skin, protect against UV damage, and help reduce the eventual signs of aging. I think this will be the next serum to go into my rotation, after I finish my current one that is.

Lavish Quick Color Switch Dry Brush Cleaner $20

I have been using wash rags to get pigment off brushes while doing my makeup. That doesn’t always work the best, I’m happy to finally have a color switch!

Ciaté Everday Vacay Coconut Setting Spray $22

I have heard some very good things about this setting spray, so I am excited to try it for myself. I just hope the scent isn’t too obnoxious.

The Créme Shop Clean Canvas Color Correcting Cushion Primer “Purple” $20

Apparently this primer is supposed to make makeup last 12+ hours. That is quite a claim! The purple is meant to minimize yellow spots, which I don’t really have a problem with. I will probably pass this along to someone who needs it.

Pür Cosmetics Festival 2.0 Eyeshadow Palette $36

I believe that we got the original Pür Festival palette in boxy around this time last year, so its neat to get the updated version. I really enjoy the color story of this palette and can’t wait to put it to use.

Over all, I’m really happy with this box! One product is a dud, but the rest seems great and I can’t wait to use them.

My boxes total came to $147.95. Awesome!

I Found a Random Ulta Palette | Let’s Review it!

I was digging through my collection the other day and found this random Ulta gift with purchase palette.

I figured, hey! Let’s give it a go and see what it’s like!

It is a very cool toned palette. It has three matte and three shimmer shades. As well as a rosy pink blush with some shimmer, and a duo chrome pink highlighter.

As you can see, the swatches aren’t impressive. Besides the blush. I am enjoying that.

  • Sugar Coat – light shimmery grey
  • Mocha- dark matte gray
  • Glaze- deep shimmery purple
  • Sweets- matte light pink
  • Drizzle- dark shimmery gray
  • Indulge- matte gray-purple
  • Cotton candy- pink blush with some glitter
  • Frosted- white highlight with a duo chrome pink shift.

Hopefully you can tell in the picture, but the shimmers basically are non-existent in a swatch.

  • I primed my eyes then set it all with Sweets. So far so good!
  • I used a fluffy blending brush and buffed Mocha into my crease and a bit above.
  • I used a more precise brush to buff Indulge into my crease.
  • I placed Glaze in my outer corner.
  • I placed Drizzle in the middle of my lid.
  • After that I placed Sugar coat on the rear of my lid and the inner corner.

  • I placed Indulge closets to my lower lash line, and blended it out with a mixture of Mocha and Sweets.

Over all thoughts

The mattes from this palette did their job well enough. But, the shimmers are non-existent.

The highlighter also, did absolutely nothing.

However, I kind of love this blush! It showed up well, and gave my skin a healthy flushed look.

This is not a palette that will stay in my collection. Honestly, I am probably going to depot the blush and trash the rest. I don’t even thing any of my sisters will want this disaster.

Do you have this GWP palette in your collection? What are your thoughts? Comment below!

What’s Inside a Walmart Beauty Box? | Spring 2020

For $5 a quarter you can get a beauty box from Walmart, full of drugstore beauty samples. I decided to check it out!

Hello Charcoal Infused Tooth Brush

Funny this is, I already have this tooth brush and I love it. I am happy to have a replacement when it is time.

Hello Naturally Whitening Toothpaste “Farm Grown Mint”

I have never tried a tooth paste from Hello, and it’s always fun to try something new. This is also a hefty sample size!

Bioré Rose Quartz and Charcoal Daily Purifying Cleanser

I have never heard of Rose Quartz being in a cleanser, so I am kind of excited to try this. It says it is great for oily skin, deep cleanses, and radiates self love. How cute.

Head & Shoulders Supreme Nourish and Smooth Conditioner

This conditioner, is of course, meant to help the scalp. It is made with Argan Oil and Jojoba Oil. This isn’t a brand I would normally use. But, I’ll give it a try.

Calm Magnesium Supplement

I am drinking this supplement as we speak. It’s sour as heck! Hopefully it helps make me calm. Lord knows I need that.

NYX #thisiseverything Lip Oil “Sheer Sky Blue”

As you can tell from the swatch, the tint doesn’t really show up. Which in this case is a good thing. I’m not sure that this is a product I will really use, but it’s cool that it was included in such an inexpensive box.

Overall thoughts?

I think for $5 this was a pretty cool little box. I may just keep my subscription and see what the next season brings?

Have you ever tried a beauty box from a store?
