ELF Bite Sized Shadow in Pumpkin Pie

I have had a few of these quads just sitting around. I haven’t really been playing with makeup, but this morning I was watching Tati videos and got inspired. So I thought, “ let’s do an inexpensive fall look.”

This quad retails for only $3!!! Here ! Let’s get into swatches and the super quick and easy look.

My first comment is I wish the matte shades had one that was a bit more orange toned, but the mattes are still super pretty.

The mattes don’t swatch the best, but they do work very well. The metallics on the other hand swatch like a dream and work just as well.

I used a fluffy blending brush and used the lightest matte and went all through the crease. I used a more tapered blending brush and used the darker matte on the outer corner. On the outer portion of my lid I used the darker metallic and then the lighter one on the rest of my lid.

I am in love with the look that came out of this quad! Simple easy, so cheap and perfect for fall. Now I want every single one of the bite sized quads and no one will stop me from getting them. I feel an ELF hall coming on!!

Which bite sized quad is your favorite?

Thank you so much for reading 🎃

5 Products I loved this Month!

oct

My favorite month of the year is now over, which makes me very sad. To cheer my self up I decided to make a favorites post! I never do this, quite honestly, because I do not like to. But, for October it felt right! I am just going to just right in to it.

#1: Glamour Doll Eyes- The entire brand!

I started dabbling with a new to me brand, and I am so glad that I have. Their pigments are amazing, truly makes me want to never use a pressed shadow again!

10251

Here are some swatch of a few of the shades I did a look with! You can read it here. I also did about about another shade, which you can find, here!

#2: Colour Pop Lippie Stick in “Creature”

creature

Picture is from the Colour Pop Site.

This is not a new shade to me, but since fall has hit I have been using the crap out of it! I love the shade and the smell. I also really enjoy that it is a matte lipstick that isn’t super drying. It is also only $5!!

On another note; who is going to check out the Hello Kitty release? I can not decide.

#3 Notoriously Morbid High Lighter “It is only a dream”

nm2

I got this high light in my October VC and have used it every time I have used high light, omitting once, ever since I got it. It is a super pretty pearly beige, again another product that makes me feel less love for pressed products. I think this shade was exclusive to the VC, but they have a few other shades that look beautiful, I think I will need to get them. You can, here. The samples are insanely inexpensive, so I think I will have to pick them up.

#4 AloePure Time Repair Serum

820bc2

I got this in a Boxy Charm two months ago, and regret taking so long to use it. It is making my skin incredibly soft and I really do notice my a difference if I miss a day or two of using it. It is a little pricey at $48, but it really does work!

You can read up on it, here.

#5 Osea Ocean Cleanser

pvs3

This came in a previous Petit Vour box, and I was really excited to try it. I finally used up my deluxe sample, and I really think I am going to purchase the full size. It makes my skin feel very clean with out striping it of natural moisture.

You can pick it up,  here, for $44.

That is it for my October favorites! I hope you enjoyed this post. What were your favorites this month? Comment below! Want more B&T? Check out this post.  You can also find me on Instagram and Snap Chat as manda_janette

Ipsy Review October 2016!

io

Hey guys!!

For this months Ipsy I decided to do more of a review, rather than just an un-bagging. At the end of the post I will include a look that I did with the products I got! I may just continue to do Ipsy this way, we will see!

io1

The theme for this month is “Black Magic”, and as usual I am going to start by reviewing the bag itself. Holy crap this is my favorite bag ever! Look how cute it is! I have already put it in my purse to carry my “take along” makeup. The bag is made of good quality material and the little zipper is a ghost. It is perfect!

This month my bag contained a pretty good variety of things.

The first thing I pulled out was the Pur-lisse Daily Lip Nourisher W/ Mango and Shea Butter. I used it to prep my lips this morning and it did a great job! I really enjoy mango, so the smell is really nice. I will still purchase the Glossier Balm Dot Com over this, but I will still use this up.

The second thing I pulled out I have yet to have a chance to try, but I am really excited to use it! Adesse Organic Infused Nail Lacquer “Grand Central”

io2

I reminds me of an oil slick, I think it is going to be perfect for Halloween! The formula does seem thin, so we will have to see how it works out. I am hoping it is as great as I am thinking it will be.

The next product I was really excited to pull out of the bag. I have wanted The Balm Hot Mama! blush for a while, but never purchased it because I wasn’t sure how it would look on my fair skin.

io3

Spoiler alert, it is beautiful! I also think it is going to look amazing as an eye shadow, I will have to update y’all on that one. I think I am going to wait to purchase the full-size still until I use up some of the blushes I already own. I do love the quality and shade though!

I was a little apprehensive when I pulled out the Ciate London Fierce Flicks liner, but it wasn’t a total fail. It is very black and dries down very matte. It does not budge, at all. But, I am not the biggest fan of felt tip liners, and this one doesn’t have quite a percise enough tip to make the perfect “fierce flick”. But, the little mistakes are an easy fix with a q-tip and makeup remover, and I am willing to have to take the extra step for an eye liner that wears this well.

The last item I got in this months bag was the Tresitque Mini Matte Lip Crayon “Florence Fig”. I have gotten a highlighter from this brand before and loved it, so I was pretty excited to try out a lip stick from them.

io4

I love this shade! I think it is going to be great for fall and winter when I don’t want to do a full on deep berry lip. It is a comfortable formula and long wearing. I have worn it with and with out a lip liner under it, it wears a decent amount of time alone, but when layered on top of a liner it is extremely long wearing.

Other Products Used:

  • Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden
  • Kat Von D Shade and Light eye palette
  • Pacifica Dream Big mascara
  • Hourglass Mood Light Primer (Sample)
  • Too Faced Born This Way Foundation and Concealer
  • Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer
  • Urban Decay “Booty Call” shadow as a face highlight

Over all I am happy with this bag. It isn’t the best Ipsy bag I have ever gotten as a whole, but I am still really happy with it!

I hope you enjoyed this post! What did you get this month in Ipsy? What do you think of these products? Which format for Ipsy posts do you prefer? Comment below! Want more B&T? Read this next! You can also find me on Instagram and Snap Chat as manda_janette

Earthly Elements| Milani Cosmetics

ee

Hey guys!

Do you remember when Milani came out with some palettes and they were all over You Tube for like a week or two? Well, if you do, I picked them up and then never messed with them. I figured I would now!

I wanted to start with the one that really gives me fall vibes, because I am incredibly excited that it is fall.

This palette comes with 5 powder shadows and one base shadow that feels more like a cream than a powder. I comes in beautiful gold packaging and includes a little double ended brush, that really isn’t that bad , but I wouldn’t reach for it. You can get it for $9.99, here!

I am going to say, right over the bat, I am very impressed with this for under $10. It is a very use-able palette, and perfect for fall! I think this is a great alternative to some high-end palettes, like the ABH Modern Renaissance palette, if you are just wanting the pop of orange.

ee1

From right to left

  • Liner shade that is a bronze plum with a ton of shimmer.
  • Specialty shade that is a high shimmer pink champagne.
  • Metallic deep bronze.
  • Matte orange
  • Matte light brown, almost tan, warm toned.
  • Powder/cream shimmery base. Is a lot like Colour Pop Alchemy, but with bigger glitter chunks.

I would not use the suggested base product for its purpose. I seems like it would make the shadows crease. I really enjoy it in the inner corner, however.

ee2

  • I primed my eyes with Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I then set that with the shade “Matt Lin” from The Balm Meet Matte Trimony palette. I also used this shadow to blend.
  • I then took the light warm brown and buffed it in to my crease as a transition shade.
  • After that I took the NYX Jumbo Pencil in “Milk” and put it all over my lid. It was the only way I could really get the orange to show up the way I wanted. I have used to orange in the crease before, and it looks amazing with out a white base!
  • On top of that I patted the orange shade all over my lid.
  • I then took the deep bronze shade and used it to deepen up my outer corner and my crease.
  • I made use of the liner shade, as, you guessed it, liner. I buffed it under my lower lash line. Then I took the ELF Make-Up Lock and Seal and dabbed a liner brush in it, then dipped it into the shadow. I then created a wing. I am really loving using shadow as winged liner lately.
  • I took the specialty shade and used it to highlight my brow bone, then highlighted my inner corner with the base shade.

I really do enjoy this palette, especially for its inexpensive price tag! I think it is a fantastic palette to pick up for fall if you are on a budget. However, if you do have say the ABH Modern Ren. palette or maybe even the Lorac pro 3, I would say it is safe to pass on the Milani one.

ee3

Other Products Used:

  • ELF brow pencil in “taupe”
  • Glossier Boy Brow “blonde”
  • Tarte Tartest Mascara
  • ELF Gel liner “nude”
  • NYX Stay Matte but Not Flat
  • NYX HD Loose Translucent Powder
  • Benefits’ Hola Bronzer
  • Benefits’ Rockature Blush
  • Makeup Revolution “Golden Lights” highlight
  • Milani lip liner in “Spice”
  • Milani lip stick in “Teddy Bare”.

I hope you enjoyed this post! What is your favorite Milani product? What do you think of this palette or the look? Comment below! Want more B&T? Check this out next! You can also find me on Instagram and Snap Chat as manda_janette

5 fall lip colors you can get at your local drugstore, right now. That are Cruelty Free!

926

It’s finally fall! Fall is my favorite time of year. I love everything about it, all the pumpkin, the cute clothes, obviously Halloween, and the makeup changes that come along with the weather changing.

One thing that always stands out to me in fall is the Vampy and deep lip colors. Vampy lips are my favorite lips! But, it can get expensive finding good lip products, in such deep shades that really wear well. This is where this post comes in and saves your wallet!

You don’t have to spend a ton of dough or wait forever for online purchases to arrive…Here are 5 Fall lip shades you can go get, right now, from your local drug store.

Wet n’ Wild Mega Last lip stick in shades “Cherry Bomb” and “Mocha-licious”:

9261

If you watch YouTube, I am sure you have heard of this line of lipsticks. They are easy to get your hands on and crazy Inexpensive. Only $1.99!

The first swatch is of “Cherry Bomb”, it is a cranberry shade and is extremely creamy. I does not dry down 100% matte, it is more of a demi matte.

The second is of “Mocha-licious”. This is a beautiful deeper mauve that does dry down matte. I picked this up beacuse it reminded me of the popular “Kardashian” lip color every one is all hyped up over.

For just under $2, these lipsticks last much longer than expected, and feel even better than anything I would have imagined at that price. If you want a good fall lip color, but don’t want to spend big bucks, or if you need a color you will rarely wear so you don’t want to spend a ton, I highly recommend this line.

Here, is where you can pick them up if you are like me and don’t like leaving the comfort of your home.

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in “Vintage” and “Cherry Skies”:

9262.jpg

I have done a review of this entire line, back in the early days of my blog. I love the line, and these just happen to be 2 of my favorite shades.

“Vintage” is another deep mauve, but mucher deeper than “mocha-licious”. It also has a bit more gray and mauve tones to it.

“Cherry Skies” is a beautiful, well cherry red. It is just a true deep red. True deep reds are my favorite shade for lips, it looks classy and elegant, but also sexy and edgy.

This formula is very creamy and doesn’t feel uncomfortable once it dries down. It is not a completely matte finish, but it doesn’t look glossy either. They last quite a while on the lips and don’t seem to really transfer once dry. They are a bit messy when they are first applied though, so be careful! The best part about them though is that they are only $6.99! You can order them, here, if you would rather shop online.

NYX Butter Gloss in the shade “Devil’s Food Cake”:

9263

So, you want to follow the fall lip trend, but you are not too confident with super saturated lip colors. I have got you covered!

The NYX Butter Glosses are amazing and have a ton of fall shades that allow you to still rock a vampy lip, but can save you the hassle of worrying about the deep saturated color becoming a mess.

My personal favorite is “Devil’s Food Cake”. It smells good, feels very hydrating, and gives my lips a deep red tint. Almost like they were bitten really hard. Which sounds strange, but I think you under stand what I mean. This is a great way to be vampy in a hhurry or if you are just afraid of the deep shades.

You can pick it up here, for only $4.99!!

I really hope you enjoyed this quick post! What are your favorite fall easy to find lip shades? What types of posts would you like to see? Comment below! Want more B&T? Check this out! You can also find me on Instagram and Snap Chat as manda_janette

Let’s jump it to this fall box, and see if it is worth the $39.95!

BellaPierre Cosmetics HD Makeup Primer $75 Value:

mbf1

WOW. $75 is expensive for a primer, I think anyway.

The card says,”Treat dryness, fine lines, excess oil, and enlarged pores with this mineral-infused formula. This primer provides a one-of-a-kind smooth complexion.”

I am expecting this primer to do some amazing things. It better live up to its $75 price tag! I better use this and have the best skin day I ever have had. I will let you know how it goes.

Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Liquid Lip “Blythe” $24 value:

mbf2

First off, I want to start off by apologizing for the quality of this picture. For some reason the actually picture I took for this post got deleted, but not transferred to my computer. So, I  have to improvise.

A few weeks ago I got an e-mail from Vegan Cuts. It was a little survey asking which shade I preferred a some of the products that would be in the box. For this product I chose the shade “Blythe” and I got it!

The formula feels very smooth, it smells really yummy, and the shade is perfect for fall! Be on the look out for this in up coming looks!

Au Naturale Organic Creme Eyeshadow “Ivory” $20 value:

mbf3

This is another product I got to pick a preferred shade of. I, again, got the shade I asked for! I am not a creme eye shadow type of girl, so I chose the only shade I knew I’d use. Pop it in the inner corner, under my brow bone, maybe do some other highlighting with it. I will let ya see how it goes. It is really creamy and formula, not too pigmented though.

Ofra Cosmetics Illuminating Blush Stripes $35 Value:

mbf4

I love Ofra! But, I do not love how expensive it is. Getting it in subscription boxes makes me ecstatic. Especially when it is products that have multiple uses! Highlighter, blush, eye shadow, oh my! ( I am aware that I am not funny.)

Anyway, this product has given me some really neat ideas, that I am excited to share with my favorite people! By that I mean y’all.

Over all:

Besides the creme shadow I am really excited for everything in this box! Vegan cuts has again out done themselves. The over all value of this box is $154! WOW. Be on the look out for updates about these products!
