BoxyCharm Base Box April 2022

The BoxyCharm base box retails for around $25 a month. It contains 5 full size (sometimes deluxe sample sized) beauty products.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Luminous Foundation 130N $38

I have tried this foundation in the past and returned it. It was just too much for how oily my skin was when this first came out. I am going to give it another go, but if I still don’t like it I’ll pass it on to a friend. I do think the shade will be a good match. I do hope I enjoy the foundation now that my skin has changed a bit. I really want to get on the luminous foundation trend.

Be on the look out for a in depth review of the ABH Luminous Foundation!

Céla By Celine Tadrissi Glacier Clay Cleanser $45

My skin hasn’t been too finicky when trying new skincare products, so I am always up to try a new cleanser, especially one so pricey! It is supposed to remove makeup ( I always pre-cleanse), environmental pollutants, and dead facial skin cells.

Christophe Robin Instant Volume Mist with Rose Water $39

I do already own this, and I have yet to try it. I am going to give it a go, but if I’m not into it I am going to give the used one to my mom and try to sell the unused one on Mercari.

Item Beauty By Addison Rae Lash Slick Lengthening Mascara “Midnight Mood” $15

I usually go for more voluminizing mascaras. However, I am not against trying out one meant for length. Maybe I’ll pair Lash Slick with another mascara meant for volume.

On another note, I got the Ipsy X box curated by Addison Rae and I still have no clue who she is.

Lucky Chick Liquid Eyeshadow “Rose Quartz” $22

I have gotten some lip products from Lucky Chick in the past and they are fantastic! I am excited to try another product from them.

The shade is really pretty. The swatch set down quickly leading me to believe the shadow will be decently long lasting on the eye lids.

That’s everything that was in my box. This is a pretty decent box, I’m really excited to have received the ABH foundation. What was in your box? What product interests you the most? Comment below!

L’Oréal Age Perfect 4-in-1 Tinted Balm | A first impressions and Wear Test.

I was very excited to try the L’Oréal Age Perfect Tinted Balm because I had heard some great things from YouTubers I really enjoy. So I had to pick it up for myself.

L’Oréal Age Perfect Tinted Balm retails for $12.97 at Walmart.

I picked up the shade 20 Fair. The balm is infused with a firming serum.

At first I thought it was going to be too orange on me.

But I think it actually ended up being a pretty decent color match for my face.

The texture of the balm is extremely creamy and does remind me of how it feels if you run your fingers over a cleansing balm.

The claims are:

1. Skin looks firmer

2. Smooths Lines

3. Conceals imperfections

4. Evens tones

Upon initial application I really enjoyed how the balm looked on my skin. I looked glowy and fresh. I can’t say my face looks firmer though. But I’m assuming that is more so going to happen after frequent use.

4 hours later I noticed my skin started to look more greasy, but not to the point it bothered me. I also noticed that the balm did transfer to my face mask. I also noticed the slightest oxidation.

At the end of the day 11 hours later, as you can see, everything has pretty much broken down and my face turned into an oil slick. I did not do any powdering through out the day, just to see how the balm held up on its own.

Final thoughts:

I think if I powder through out the day or only wear my makeup for 4-6 hours I would be in love with this balm. It is comfortable on the skin, I actually forgot I was wearing face product! I think this will be a go to product once the weather warms up. I am excited to see how my feelings about this balm evolve. I will be sure to do an update post when that happens.

Ipsy January 2022

The Ipsy Glam Bag is around $11 a month and you get 5-6 deluxe sample sized makeup and beauty products.

Elaina Badro Blending Brush

The brush is very soft and doesn’t shed. It’s a nice addicting to my collection of too many eyeshadow bruhes.

Rose + Quartz Hair Mask

This seems like it will be a really good hair mask. It’s vegan, gluten free, and cruelty free. I am excited to give it a try once I finish my current hair mask.

IBY Sunkissed Glow Highlighter “Maldives”

This is a pretty highlighter. I don’t mind that it’s travel sized because highlighters are hard to get through. Maldives is a great color for me and I think I’ll get a lot of use out of it.

Tarte Ultra Creamy Shape Tape Concealer “Light Sand”

This is the item I picked out. I’m very excited to try it. It’s something I have wanted to give a try for a while now, this travel size will be perfect.

Purlisse Ageless Glow Serum BB Cream “light”

I am always up to trying a new BB cream. I have another Bb Cream from Purlisse that I really like, so I have high hopes for ageless glow.

Review/ 1st Impressions: Hard Candy Sheer Envy Hydrating Primer

I have heard a lot about the Hard Candy Sheer Envy Hydrating Primer on YouTube and I just had to try it for myself.

The Hard Candy Sheer Envy Hydrating Primer retails for $6.96 at Walmart.

The primer comes out as a blue jelly and feels very cooling and hydrating when you spread it on your face. Once it dries down it does feel a little bit sticky to the touch, but it isn’t bothersome on the face. It reminds me a ton of the Milk Hydrogrip primer. So much so that I do t feel the need to repurchase the Milk Hydrogrip primer now.

This picture was taken right after I applied my makeup. Everything sat very well on my skin. I made sure to use a foundation and concealer that I trusted to give the primer a fair chance.

Here we are four hours later. Everything is still looking good! I did notice my pores looked a bit large, but nothing I had on claimed to be pore filling.

Here we are 8 hours after application. I noticed makeup had rubbed off on my nose and my chin thanks to my mask. I also noticed that there was much less creasing under my eyes and in my smile lines than normal.

I highly recommend this primer. It is a great drugstore alternative to the Milk Hydrogrip Primer and it works wonders. It won’t break the bank and it does it’s job nicely.

An Almost Full Face of Honest Beauty

My classes got cancelled today so I decided to do a full face of Honest Beauty! Well, an almost full face.

Everything Primer Matte $22.99

I started with the Honest Beauty Everything Primer in Matte. I use this primer all the time. It’s a lotiony texture and leaves my skin feeling hydrated, but not looking greasy.

The Everything Cream Foundation in Snow $21.99

This is a foundation I have raved about before and still love it. It can be used with out a concealer because it builds up so easily without looking cakey.

Snow is the perfect match for my light skin and I will continue to use and love it.

Get it Together Eyeshadow Palette $22.99

I have used this palette a few times and it isn’t the best I’ve ever used, but it also isn’t the worst.

None of the shades are particularly creamy and the pigmentation is okay. They do look very pretty on the eyes. I used the first three shades and the cream shade to do more of a romantic look today

Dusk Reflection Illuminizing Glow Powder $19.99

Dusk Reflection is the darker shade and I use it as bronzer. I love this stuff. I use it all the time. It sinks into the skin so well and doesn’t look like too much.

Midnight Reflection Illuminizing Glow Powder $19.99

This is the lighter shade. It’s a great highlight! Not over the top, not to shimmery. It just looks like the light is hitting your face perfectly.

Cremé Cheek Blush in Rose Pink $12.99

I use this blush all the time. It sinks nicely into the skin and I love that it makes me look slightly sunburnt even though I never go outside.

It is a beautiful rosey color and works well on my skin tone.

Lip Crayon in Sheer Rose $12.99

I tend to reach for this lip crayon on no makeup days. It’s comfortable and gives your lips and really nice kiss of color!

I really love how this look turned out! I highly recommend checking out everything! Maybe not the eyeshadow palette, but it does create pretty looks.

Honest Beauty Everything Cream Foundation | Review and Wear Test!

Welcome to the next leg of my foundation journey! Today, we are going to talk about The Honest Beauty Everything Cream Foundation $21.99

When I was younger, I solely used the Avon cream foundation compact, and I did enjoy it. So I figured, why not try a more natural version!

Information straight from the Honest Beauty Site:

Our Everything Foundation Cream really is everything a girl could ask for in a foundation (and ask we did). It’s creamy demi-matte formula means the only shine you’re seeing is the lit-from-within, winning personality kind and its flexible medium-to-full coverage goes on smooth every time. Infused with jojoba oil that acts a whole lot like your skin already, it doesn’t just offer buildable coverage and a seamless finish but also helps keep your skin’s natural moisture barrier in balance

Ingredients:

“Jojoba Oil: rich in fatty acids and chemically similar to human sebum, helps to balance skin’s moisture barrier

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Mica, Castor Isostearate Beeswax Succinate, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Silica, Lauroyl Lysine, Glyceryl Behenate, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Tocopherol, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Glycerin, Water (Aqua), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Limonene, Linalool, Citral, Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499). May Contain: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891).”

I know for some people silica and mica, possibly, aren’t preferred Ingredients, for hard core green beauty enthusiasts, but for me, I am not too concerned about them.

I am in the lightest shade, Snow, and I have to say, this is the best shade for my skin tone. It’s fair with warm undertones. My perfect summer shade.

Application process:

I started by priming with the Honest Beauty Everything Matte Primer $21.99 which is a primer I already love. It really helps to create a matte base, which I think really increases the longevity of this Demi matte foundation.

Here is the foundation after initial application. Definitely a medium- buildable to full cover age foundation. I have the shade Snow.

One swipe

Next is displaying to coverage with a second layer.

Definitely buildable!

Application process

I layed this foundation down with a flat foundation brush from Luxie in my T-Zone and anywhere I needed more coverage and blended from there with a beauty blender. I used two layers and was very happy with the coverage.

Here we are 6 hours later. I have to say, I am happy with the wear! There is the typical T-Zone wear, but nothing got cakey and my blemishes stayed covered very well. I did originally set it with a loose translucent powder, but did not touch it up through out the day.

For a $21.99 price tag, I am very impressed with this foundation. This has been the best foundation I have tried in ages! It last well, and and doesn’t make the skin look TOO dewy, even after 6 hours!

As of right now, I will 200% repurchase this foundation once I go through it. It’s great for light wear in the summer, and a more heavy coverage for when we don’t have to worry about makeup melting off your face.

I highly recommend trying this one out for yourself. It’s cruelty free, versatile, and wears very well!

Tom Ford Traceless Matte Foundation | Review and Wear Test

I was sent this foundation by Influenster for review.

Welcome back to my foundation journey! I got lucky with this one, thanks Influenster.

Before we even get into my thoughts and the wear test. I do not, and will NEVER recommend ANYTHING from Tom Ford to you. Tom Ford is NOT a cruelty free brand. HOWEVER, not everyone who enjoys my blog is cruelty free, and I saw this as a great opportunity to give my personal opinion about a very expensive foundation.

Now, let’s begin.

The Tom Ford claims that the Traceless Soft Matte Foundation is hydrating with a silky formula. It is supposed to be medium to full coverage that lasts all day without looking cakey or dry. It has soft-focus microsphere powders that are meant to blur skin and wear extending pigments that are supposed to provide medium to full coverage. It is supposed to move like skin and feel smoother over time.

Here is the foundation look upon initial application.

I used a moisturizing primer and applied two layers of foundation with a brush. I would not say it provides full coverage as you can still clearly see the freckles on my nose and the few on my cheeks.

6 Hours later (the voice for time skips in sponge bob)

I do agree that the foundation is extremely comfortable! It wasn’t itchy, or dry, or cakey at all. There is the normal wear in my T-Zone. But other than that, everything stayed beautifully through an easy, mostly indoors day. But! This foundation is $88, why are you wearing off my T-zone like any other foundation?

Do I think the foundation is worth the $88? 100% NO! For one, it is not Cruelty free. Secondly, you can get a SIMILAR type of wear from, for example, the Too Faced Born This Way foundation.

If you are not Cruelty Free and don’t mind shelling out the money on an expensive foundation, sure; give it a try, I’m sure you’ll be happy if you like matte finishes. But personally, absolutely not. I am going to pass this on to my sister that is as fair as I am, and I’m sure she will be very happy about it.

What is the most expensive foundation you have ever tried? This is mine! Comment below!

Bite Beauty Change Maker Foundation & Primer | Review & Wear Test

Let’s talk about foundation for a minute. I think it is one of the most, if not the most important part of your makeup routine to really get right. A bad base can ruin everything! I am continually on the hunt for the perfect foundation, today I’m going to take you all on part of that journey.

But before foundation, I gotta prime! So let’s start off with the Bite Beauty Change Maker Skin Optimizing Primer $38.

There are two different formulas, one for normal to oily, and the one I picked up, normal to dry.

This primer really feels and acts as a moisturizer. I love how moisturizing it feels on the skin. It is meant to neutralize your skin type, while also gripping foundation.

This product also has some wonderful highlighted ingredients:

Willow Bark (Mattifying Primer): Helps mattify, control shine, and blur the look of pores without stripping skin.
– Hyaluronic Acid Complex (Hydrating Primer): A specialized blend of micronized hyaluronic particles and sodium PCA for enhanced hydration.
– Olive Oil (Hydrating Primer): Helps boost hydration.
– Maqui Berry: An antioxidant-rich ingredient that helps nurture your complexion.

Do I think it holds up to these claims? Yes and no. I really do think it neutralized my skin type. It was hydrating, nourishing, and did actually help control shine. However, I really do not think that it helped grip on to my foundation. You will see why in just a moment.

Now, the fun part. The Change Maker Supercharged Micellar Foundation $39.50

I believe there are 32 shades. The best fit for me was the lightest shade L 10. It is described as fair light with neutral under tones.

This foundation is meant to be creamy and long wearing, with buildable medium coverage.

Here are the highlighted ingredients:

Maqui Berry: Antioxidant-rich and helps nourish your complexion; native to Patagonia, known to be one of the purest environments on earth
Micellar Technology: Inspired by skincare, it gently mimics skin texture for a smooth, non-cakey look

Here is my face after the initial application. I find that this foundation applies best with your finger tips or a brush. I noticed that a sponge soaked up a lot of the product and make application a bit spotty.

Upon initial application I thought the base looked beautiful! I definitely believe that the coverage is buildable, but I wouldn’t say it builds to full coverage.

Here is 4 hours into wearing the foundation. I was spending time with my boyfriend’s family inside and out of the heat. You can see there is some break up around my nose and cheeks, and you can see some of my weird freckles.

Here is the wear after 6 hours, coverage is essentially gone from my t zone. Please note! I did wear a mask for about 30 minutes, so that does have an affect on the foundation.

Now, these pictures were taken the second time I tried this foundation. The first time I wore it, we had gone to the mall, then a bar, and the break down from heat and wearing a mask was horrible. I did not think that was a fair testing environment.

Overall, I thought this foundation was a great match and very comfortable. However, I do not think it is the right foundation to wear in the summer in warmer climates, or if you are going to be moving around a lot. I found that it noticeably sunk into my pores, and broke up quickly.

Before I give this foundation to one of my sisters to try, I want to try it again once it cools down here.

As of right now, I am not a fan of this foundation, but you never know. The climate could change my thoughts completely! At first I loved the Huda Beauty foundation, but now I hate it and gave it away. So, we will see what the future holds for the change maker foundation and I.

Products I have been using on the daily | Summer 2020

This summer has been sweltering. So I set out to find a low effort routine, that handles well under heat. I think I found it for myself! And it is surprisingly full of powder products.

Base

After my skin care, I start by priming. I have been loving the Pür Cosmetics 4 in 1 correcting primer $33. It is moisturizing and sinks quickly into the skin. It has a nice light scent. It really helps to calm my skin down, and I do find it helps reduce redness.

My next step is concealing. I really love the Organic Skin Co. Hide and Seek Concealer in the shade Porcelain ($18 for the refill, magnetic pod). It doesn’t crease under the eyes and does a wonderful job at covering up blemishes. I find it blends in best using your fingers to really warm up the product.

I have been loving powder foundations specifically the Lily Lolo Mineral Foundation in China Doll $22. It gives a brightened and smooth look to the skin, and does a great job at covering up any remaining discoloration.

Colored Cosmetics

For bronzer I have been in love with the W3ll People Bio Baked Bronzer in Natural Tan $24.99. It gives a lovely sun kissed tan look to the skin. I also love packing it all over my lid and buffing it into my crease and under the eye, for a super easy, sultry eye look!

The highlighter I have been obsessed with is PYT Radiant Powder Highlighter in Backstage Pass $22. It gives a very luminous look to the skin. I also pop this under my brow bone and in the inner corner of my eyes, to complete that super easy eye look.

I have found my new all time favorite blush, and I can’t stop using it! The Lily Lolo Pressed Blush in Tickled Pink $20. This blush gives my cheeks a wind flushed look, while providing luminosity.

For the lips I have constantly been reaching for the Axiology Natural Lip Crayon in the shade Valour $26. For a lip crayon, it is rather long lasting. It is also not drying on the lips at all, even though it is matte. The crayon shape to the product makes reapplication through out the day a breeze!

Please ignore my red eye, I tried the Tarte Big Ego mascara, and I don’t think my left eye is okay with it.

Look at that highlighter!!

I hope you enjoyed reading about the products I am currently loving!

BoxyLuxe June 2020 | The Oasis

It’s a new season, which means it’s time for BoxyLuxe!

BoxyLuxe retails for $50 quarterly. You must have an active BoxyCharm base subscription.

Let’s dive right in!

Pürlisse Perfect Glow BB Cream “Light” $35

I have been looking for a BB cream to wear through out the summer, so this arrived at the perfect time. From a swatch I did the shade seems to be a pretty good match.

Kylie Skin Foaming Face Wash $24

I have tried this face wash before. It worked alright, but I only used it once, so I couldn’t gather my full thoughts on it. It is pretty neat to see Kylie products in a subscription box!

Hallmart Collectibles Satin pillow and mask set $50

This was one of the products that I picked. For some reason I have always wanted a satin pillow case, but never bought one. Please note! The insert card says this set costs $50, I found it online for $36.

Malin + Goetz Recovery Treatment Oil $82

A luxurious facial treatment that combines nine natural oils to help protect skin from free radical damage and renew skin’s appearance

I love oils and serums. I am excited to see how well this works. Especially for that price.

Bodyography Lip Pencil Set “Pouty and Rosewood” $28

For some strange reason I am really into lip pencils, so I am always happy to get more. I have an excessive amount, and my toxic trait is that I don’t care.

Lily Lashes Triple X Mascara $24

I picked this item as well. I have high hopes for this mascara, because of the brand name. I will update you all on rather or not it crushed my hopes.

Billion Dollar Brows 5-Piece Charcoal Brush Set $55

Brushes! I love getting brushes in subscriptions. I can never justify buying them anymore. The bristles of this set are very soft and the handles seem very sturdy and well made.

Tarte Tartiest Pro Amazonian Clay Palette $49

I am so glad I got this palette over the remix. I have always been curious of its quality and I’m excited to try it out.

I think this is the best Boxy Luxe that I have gotten. I am excited about every single product.

My box came to a total of $347. What a great value for $50!
