5 fall lip colors you can get at your local drugstore, right now. That are Cruelty Free!

926

It’s finally fall! Fall is my favorite time of year. I love everything about it, all the pumpkin, the cute clothes, obviously Halloween, and the makeup changes that come along with the weather changing.

One thing that always stands out to me in fall is the Vampy and deep lip colors. Vampy lips are my favorite lips! But, it can get expensive finding good lip products, in such deep shades that really wear well. This is where this post comes in and saves your wallet!

You don’t have to spend a ton of dough or wait forever for online purchases to arrive…Here are 5 Fall lip shades you can go get, right now, from your local drug store.

Wet n’ Wild Mega Last lip stick in shades “Cherry Bomb” and “Mocha-licious”:

9261

If you watch YouTube, I am sure you have heard of this line of lipsticks. They are easy to get your hands on and crazy Inexpensive. Only $1.99!

The first swatch is of “Cherry Bomb”, it is a cranberry shade and is extremely creamy. I does not dry down 100% matte, it is more of a demi matte.

The second is of “Mocha-licious”. This is a beautiful deeper mauve that does dry down matte. I picked this up beacuse it reminded me of the popular “Kardashian” lip color every one is all hyped up over.

For just under $2, these lipsticks last much longer than expected, and feel even better than anything I would have imagined at that price. If you want a good fall lip color, but don’t want to spend big bucks, or if you need a color you will rarely wear so you don’t want to spend a ton, I highly recommend this line.

Here, is where you can pick them up if you are like me and don’t like leaving the comfort of your home.

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in “Vintage” and “Cherry Skies”:

9262.jpg

I have done a review of this entire line, back in the early days of my blog. I love the line, and these just happen to be 2 of my favorite shades.

“Vintage” is another deep mauve, but mucher deeper than “mocha-licious”. It also has a bit more gray and mauve tones to it.

“Cherry Skies” is a beautiful, well cherry red. It is just a true deep red. True deep reds are my favorite shade for lips, it looks classy and elegant, but also sexy and edgy.

This formula is very creamy and doesn’t feel uncomfortable once it dries down. It is not a completely matte finish, but it doesn’t look glossy either. They last quite a while on the lips and don’t seem to really transfer once dry. They are a bit messy when they are first applied though, so be careful! The best part about them though is that they are only $6.99! You can order them, here, if you would rather shop online.

NYX Butter Gloss in the shade “Devil’s Food Cake”:

9263

So, you want to follow the fall lip trend, but you are not too confident with super saturated lip colors. I have got you covered!

The NYX Butter Glosses are amazing and have a ton of fall shades that allow you to still rock a vampy lip, but can save you the hassle of worrying about the deep saturated color becoming a mess.

My personal favorite is “Devil’s Food Cake”. It smells good, feels very hydrating, and gives my lips a deep red tint. Almost like they were bitten really hard. Which sounds strange, but I think you under stand what I mean. This is a great way to be vampy in a hhurry or if you are just afraid of the deep shades.

You can pick it up here, for only $4.99!!

Wet N’ Wild Mega Slicks Lip Gloss *Gem or Dud?*

wnwgloss

What’s up everyone?!

I bring you a review of the Wet N’ Wild glosses that I have purchased and been trying out. Lip glosses have seemed to become more popular lately, which is nice. I, personally, tend to be more neutral towards lip gloss…I could take it or leave it. Colour Pop recently released their gloss line, so I thought, “why not review one even more inexpensive?” Only $1.99! They have a wide a-ray or not so crazy shades, and I am going to show you 6 of the 17 shades. You can see the rest here.

Aesthetic

I really like the packaging. The part that contains the product is plastic, the lid is a thinner metal type material. I do wish the lid was a little thicker, but I will take what I can get for the price The packaging isn’t colorful or crowded, it is simple with just the brand name and a few details. If you have read any of my previous posts you know this is what I prefer. The shade however, is only labeled on a sticker on the bottom, which kind of sucks. I would really rather it be printed on the packaging. The smell is faintly vanilla, but not to were it is overwhelming.

Application/Wear

Not pictured “Crystal Clear” (It’s just a clear gloss), “Sun Glaze”, “Sinless”,  “Rose Gold”, “Berry Bronze”, and “Wined and Dined”

Besides the clear gloss and the last one, the shades all have some type of shimmer to them. Which, is okay with me, when I reach for a gloss it is usually just because I am too lazy to do anything. Unless I want a clear gloss. Anyway, MY faves are  “Crystal Clear”, “Sun Glaze”, and “Rose Gold”.

I do not really like the other 3, because they have too much pigment. They are a bit sticky, so my hair would get caught in them, which resulted in strikes on my face. Especially with “Wined and Dined”! I do really like “Berry Bronze” as a center of the lip pop though, turns out beautiful, right alot with the lighter shades.

They feel real moisturizing, but they do not last long. But, what can you expect from a gloss that cost under $2, right?

Overall, I would say to pick one up and try it out for yourself, at least the clear one, I kind of wear it a TON. For under $2 you can’t really go wrong, and they are pretty nice in a pinch!

As for are they a Gem or Dud? I really can’t decide solely because I am not the biggest lip gloss fan, and I knew that going into this product purchase!

Let me know what you think! Any comments, concerns, or requests? Please let me know! I really need some inspiration!

What Make-Up is Travaling with Me? + The Make-Up Bags I Use to Travel

travelmakeup.jpg

I want to start by talking about the bag itself! If you have read my first few post than you will remember this bag. It is a NYX make-up bag that I got with a set of NYX make-up at Ulta. This is my favorite bag to travel with because it’s clear so I can see all my products easier, and it is plastic which makes it much easier to clean! A pink and brown eye FOTD

image

I wanted to do something a little different than I usually do. Even though it ended up turning out a lot like my usual looks.

The L’oreal Infallible shadow in “always pearly pink” was much more frosty than it was pink. This is the shade on my lid, by the way.

In my crease I used the MAC shadow in “cork” to help the darker shade, Elizabeth Arden brow powder and eyeliner in “brunette” , to blend easier.

As my base shade I used Wet n Wilds “creme brulee”.

image

I used the Starlooks Pro liquid liner in ” black”. I also used the Covergirl Plumpify mascara again, I am really loving it.
My shadow primer was Too Faced Shadow Insurance.  I also used the Elizabeth Arden shade to smoke out my under eye just a bit.

image

I used to ELF contour palette to contour, bronze and highlight. I used the Covergirl TruBlend baked blush in “Medium Rose”.

I used the Revlon Color stay foundation and the Maybelline Better Skin concealer. I then set it all with the ELF color correcting powder.

On my lips is the NYC Liquid Lipshine in ” Honey on the Hudson”.

I hope you enjoyed this look. I have purchased a new camera, so in a few days the picture quality will improve tremendously. Thanks for reading!

Neutrogena Moisture Smooth Color Sticks Review

My favorite youtuber Emilynoel83 has been raving about this product for a while, so I decided to give them a try!

This is a quick review.

I thought this product was great, it is very moisturizing , and the color they leave on your lips are beautiful. They do have a very strong smell of peach….which is not one I am too fond of. I noticed it as soon as I opened the product, but it need not maintain that scent while I wore it, which is great.

If you don’t like Peach….I would probably just skip these and try the Almay Butter Kiss lip sticks I mentioned in my last post. They have a pastry smell to them, which I forgot to mention in the post. But, man does it smell good!!

Makeup for 50 cents?!: 2 for $1 display at Dollar General ( Hot or Not)

I was browsing through my local Dollar general when I noticed an interesting isle end cap display. 2 for $1 L.A. Colors makeup, and it was a newly launched line! Now, being the “makeup investigator” that I am, I decided to pick up every single eye shadow, and one of everything else. Now, I am relaying to you if this inexpensive makeup is worth taking the trip to Dollar General and picking up. ( P.S. I tried to find a link for the products, but could not, it is probably a hit or miss if this line is in your local Dollar General).

Pictured above is the line of shadows ( all single) one baby pop! lip gloss, one chunky eye pencil, and one chunky lip pencil. I am going to start with the lip gloss!!

laclg

The only lip gloss that was available at my local display was this one in “nude”. Now, for a 50 cent lip gloss I was pretty impressed with it. It was not sticky, had a nice smell, and felt pretty nice on the lips. Of course, it is sheer, even more so on the lips than in the swatch. It is pretty comfortable to wear, and one of the items from this line I will be holding on to.

laclp

This lip pencil was, again, pretty good for the price. FOR THE PRICE. It was patchy, sheer, and wore off easily. BUT, it wasn’t uncomfortable, which is really what I was expecting it to be. So, that is the one plus for this item. This is an item I will be passing on to my younger sister, who is 8 and does not need a lot of lip color for “play makeup”. By the way this lip color is called “red”. How original.

lacep

The L.A. Colors chunky eye pencil that I was able to find on the display is in the shade champagne frost. As you can tell from the swatch, this pencil has some pretty chunky glitter in it. So chunky in fact, that it hurt my eyelid pretty badly to apply. Not to mention, the product was very patch and the lid of the product was too large to fit. Needless to say, I promptly tossed this item in the trash.

wineshimmer

The first shadow (pictured above), is labeled as wine shimmer. This shadow was pretty smooth and bendable. It is way less pigmented on the eye than in the swatch or in the pan. It also appears more “brown” than it does “wine”, but that is subjective.

teal steal

I really wanted this shade ” Teal Steal” to be as pigmented as it appeared in the pan. It really reminded me of another L.A. Colors eye shadow from my childhood. The shadow to give a nice sheen on the eye, but it creased very fast and faded quickly. It was also very powdery.

purplerain

First, let me start off by saying that I really like the name of this shadow, “purple rain”. As for the shadow itself? Not so much. There was very little pigmentation. It was very chalky and it did not blend.

nudeshimmer.jpg

This shade, “nude shimmer”, can actually come in handy! I found that it looked very nice as a brow and inner corner highlight. But that is about it, it doesn’t blend well enough to last on the crease, nor is it pigmented enough.

bluemermaid

This shade, “blue mermaid”, point blank sucked. It was chalky, not pigmented, and it would just blend away- quickly.

The reason I have these 3 shadows grouped together, is because I loved them. They are very usable. Not chalky, pigmented, and bendable. These shades are; “Black Frost”, “Golden”, and “White Shimmer”. If you can get your hands on these last three shadows I highly recommend it. As for the rest of the line?

As always, thanks for reading.
