Walmart Beauty Box Spring 2022

I forgot I was subscribed to this! So it was a nice little surprise today. It’s $5 a season and you get a random assortment of beauty and makeup samples. Sometimes you’ll even get a full sized product! I really want to sub to the cheap beauty boxes from other stores, lately I have an obsession with samples and deluxe sample sized products. Probably because I am doing a turn and burn project pan. Which is just making a point to use up samples, deluxe samples, and products that are almost empty.

Sample Packets

I’m not going to go into any detail with these. Here is just an assortment of one use packets. The L’Oréal Revitalift Hyaluronic Acid Serum, Liquid IV flavor packet, and Not Your Mother’s Smooth Moves Anti-Frizz Shampoo and Conditioner.

Daily Concepts Exfoliating Dual Texture Scrubber

I am a bit iffy about this. It just makes me a bit nervous to use wipe something so textured all around my face. I am afraid of tears. I might try this, but I also might just give it to a friend to try.

Cera Ve Daily Moisturizing Lotion

I have heard really good things about this lotion so I am interested in trying it out. I think it will work really nicely on my legs which are much more sensitive than the rest of my body. This will be a nice way to see if I like it or not.

Chap Stick Total Hydration With Hemp Seed Oil

I am always happy to try a new lip balm. This one feels really hydrating on the lips and has a nice fresh scent. Into my purse it goes!

Lottie London Slay All Day Liquid Lipstick “Fleek”

I have not been big into liquid lips lately like I use to be. I just find them to be too drying on my lips and I don’t like how they just flake off. However, I do really like the shade of this one so I may make an exception.

It’s a brown-red shade. I just really enjoy it and think it will really complement some looks. I don’t think it screams spring by any means, but who cares. It’s not like I’m into bright springy colors.

What did you think of this Walmart beauty box? Not a bad little assortment for $5! Comment your thoughts below! What is your favorite product or brand from the drugstore?

October 2017 Empties | Look at my trash!

It’s sadly the end of my favorite month. But, that means it’s time to talk about all the stuff I used up!

Before I get into that though, look at my new Empties bin!!! #slytherinpride🐍🐍

Hair Care

Project Beauty Hairgurt “Strawberry Banana”: This is my second empty of this stuff and I love it. It’s inexpensive, smells freaking fantastic, works wonders, and is obviously CF. Will repurchase (again).

L’Oréal Extordinary Oil: This stuff took me ages to get through. It did its job and smelled nice. However, L’Oréal is not CF. Will not repurchase.

OGX Moroccan Argon Creme Shampoo: I actually really enjoyed this Shampoo. It worked very well and and the scent was very long lasting. I am having trouble finding out what OGX’s actual CF stance is. My repurchase decision is undecided.

OGX Hydrating Macadamia Oil Conditioner: Again, I loved this product. It made my hair very soft and the scent was phenomenal and long lasting. My repurchase decision is undecided for the same reason as the Shampoo.

Home Scents

BBW Wallflowers “Leaves” and “Sleep”: I love these scents, but I no longer support BBW. I still have so many to go through, and my friend got me a few during a sale. These things won’t go away 🙄.

BBW Stress Relife Eucalyptus and Spearmint Candle: I hate spearmint, so I was not a fan of this candle. I am going to repurpose the jar though!

Makeup and a random

Colgate Radiant Tooth Paste: I keep forgetting to throw my tooth paste in my Empties! I remembered this time though. Not CF will not repurchase. BTW, I have a neat tooth brush post coming up!

Duo Lash Glue “Black”: works well. Would rather have the clear one. I need a good CF lash glue.

Jordana Fabuliner “Black”: A Great inexpensive liner. CF. Will repurchase.

Physician Formula Double Ended Brow Pencil: I never used the Highlight side. I think the Brow side was too thick for my liking. Is CF though! Will not repurchase.

Rimmel Exagerate Liner “Black”: Not CF, will not repurchase.

Body/Skin Care

Clearasil Toner: Not CF, didn’t do anything. Will not repurchase.

Yes to Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Cleanser: I am in love with this face wash! It’s inexpensive, very effective, CF, and 97% natural! Will repurchase!

Juara Java Plum Avocado Mask: I have a Review on this product! Read it to find out!

Beenigma: I don’t get they hype over this stuff…I also don’t think that there is bee venom in it. Will not repurchase.

Soap&Glory Flake Away: I wish S&G didn’t test on animals where required by law:(. Will not repurchase, even though I love it.

Derma E Vitamin C Serum: I have a review for this product as well. Read it to find out my thoughts!

Neutrogena Water Gel: Not CF, will not repurchase. Did work well though.

Masqueology Collagen Hydro Gel Mask: This mask was neat. It was a gold Gell sheet mask that came in two pieces. It made my skin soft! But, it is not CF. Will not repurchase.

Body Sprays:

Body Fantasy Cherry Blossom: Not CF and didn’t smell too good. Will not repurchase.

BBW Sleep Spray: I used this on my pillows! I’m going to miss it, not CF so I won’t be repurchasing.

Taylor Swift Wonder Struck: I actually enjoyed this scent, but I like other scents better. Will not be repurchasing.

That is all for my Empties! What did you use up this month??? Comment below!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

L’oreal Ever Pure Hair Care |Vox Box

Before I get in to the actual review of this line, I wanted to let you all know that I am currently on vacation.  This post is being written from my phone, therefore the format will be a little off.

A few weeks ago I got this new line from L’oreal in a Vox Box from Influenster.  I want it to be very clear thay this is NOT a company I purchase from, due to my cruelty free stance.  I did, however,  want to try this line because of how it is supposed to be formulated.

  • Not sulfates
  • No dyes
  • No harsh chemicals
  • No paraben
  • It is vegan

The bottles also state that they are cruelty free, but L’oreal tests where required by law. Rather than leaving those places.

*I did test these over a week long period, even a few days more*

Shampoo:

For a sulfate free shampoo, I was very pleased with the lather it gave me. Sulfate free shampoos tend to lack the latherimg capablitites. The scent (rosemary), is also very nice. It did not irritate my scalpe, which is easy to do. My hair felt very clean after ward’s,  and I didn’t feel the need to ‘re wash it the following day. 👍👍👍👍. Not five beacuse of the brand.

Conditioner:

I have to say, this is a fantastic conditioner for the drugstore. It left my hair feeling great, even after the first use. And with out all the chemicals!  After extended use my hair was softer and much less frizzy.👍👍👍👍

Elixir:

I had high hopes for  this product because I am a big fan of hair elixir type things. When I used it and let my hair air dry it did nothing. If I used it before styling or on dry hair it made my hair feel almost gummy in parts. This is a big 👎👎👎

*I did get these products for free, but all opinions are my own. *

I hope you enjoyed this quick review, while I was on vacation.  Thank you for reading! Find me on snap and instagram @ manda_janette

A Cruelty Free Eye ShadowDupe for a Cult Favorite!

dupe1

As some of you may now, I am trying to convert my entire beauty collection cruelty free. While I have been able to give away and donate ( I only donated and sold un-opened items) most of my non- CF products there were some that I loved way too much to pass along with out finding a dupe.

One of these products being the cult favorite L’oreal Infallible shadow in the shade “Amber Rush”. This product also happens to be a dupe for one of the MAC pigments, I believe in the shade “Tan”. While researching replacement products I stumbled upon a post stating that Colour Pop’s “Amaze” is a good CF dupe for these products. So obviously I ordered it.

dupe2

I apologize for the shotty packaging on my “Amber Rush” lid. I am really bad about peeling the labels off things, resulting in me having to sharpie on the shade names.

Side by side in the pans they look pretty similar, “Amber Rush” may be a bit more red.

dupe3

When swatched, you can really see that “Amber Rush ” is a bit more red/orange. The consistency is not the same, but the color is pretty similar. I wouldn’t say that this is a dupe, but it is a good alternative!

What do you think?

*Makup Declutter Eyeshadow*

I knew this would be the hardest part, and it was. Making my first sale of the products that I am selling, today helped me a lot though sense that money is going to a makeup order!

* I am not showing all the shadows I have remaining- or the ones I am starting with, because I have a few series planned, and I don’t want to spoil anything! Remember, my decluttering process is growing and I will be showing more shadows and other items that I will be passing in on, as they are decided on.*

Single Shadows

mds

Lately I have had this strange need to buy single shadows. It was really hard to get rid of any, and the ones that I am passing along, I had to force myself to do. Let’s begin!

Wet n’ Wild “cheeky”- This pink is super powdery and way more trouble than it is worth. I am really liking shades of pink lately, but I have better shadows that are similar. Going to a family member

L’oreal “Green Promenade”- I really like this shadow line. I actually have kept a lot that I want to find cruelty free dupes of before I pass along. This one just isn’t pigmented, so I am going to let my family pick through this (along with a ton of other makeup) next weekend!

L’oreal “Argentic”- This is another shade that just isn’t pigmented. I am also passing this along to family. I have swatched it quite a bit.

Cover Girl “Tapestry taupe”, “Mink”, and “Brown Smoulder”- I am passing these all along for the same reason. I have these exact shades, but 1000 times better in cruelty free form. I have messed with these quite a bit, so I am going to give these to family and not sell. It was a bit hard to pass these along, because I do like them, but there is no sense in keeping a worse version of something I own.

Palettes:

mds1

Palettes weren’t as hard to move away from because I have SO many. Let’s just get into the ones I am passing along and where they are going.

NYC Lovatics BY Demi- I used this once, in a post. It is nice for the price, but I have so much like it. It also is not cruelty free, so might as well pass it along. I am going to sanitize and sell this item!

NYX Sex Bomb- I have never used this item and just don’t see myself reaching for it. I am going to sell it.

CoverGirl Notice Me Nudes- I bought this b/c of Tati and it just wasn’t as great as she made it seem. Not much pigmentation. Going to a family member sense I did use it quite a bit.

Revlon Photo Ready “Metropolitan” – I have only swatched this item, and I know my mom really likes it. She has used it. I am going to give it to her!

Wet n’ Wild Poster Child- I have played with this some, but I am never going to use this. I am just going to let it go to a family member before I change my mind!

Sonia Kashuk Eyes on Textured Nudes- I love the matte and shimmer version of this palette, but this one just doesn’t have the same pay off. I am going to also pass this on to my mom, she has been wanting shadows with more shimmer, maybe she can make use of this.

Wet n Wild I’m Getting Sun Burnt- This trio is really messy and the shadows are too soft. The super dark brown broke and has just mixed with the other shades. I am going to throw this one away.

Rimmel Afternoon Tea-This has like no pigmentation. I don’t even want to give it to someone else because it just sucks. Trash.

Hope you enjoyed this declutter! What shadows should I pick up? What types of looks do you want to see??

*Makeup Declutter* Liquid/Gel Liners

mdl

I am actually starting to like decluttering. I am not AS anxious as I was at first, and deciding to go cruelty free really has helped me a lot. ALSO I want to announce that sense Josiah and I have moved into a new apartment, we finally got to get Pocket dogs! Rats, we got rats. I use to have rats and loved them to death. I decided too again have rats. I will have a post about them coming soon! Just wanted to share that little tidbit because I am so excited and in love with my 3 little pocket dogs. ❤

Now, on to the declutter. Continue reading “*Makeup Declutter* Liquid/Gel Liners”

Today I thought I’d be a Mermaid. Dramatic Spring/Summer Look!

42716

Today I decided to do something a little different than I am used to. I do not do many dramatic looks and I hate false lashes. But, I was looking through my collection after work today and saw a really pretty shadow that I had never used. I decided to take a risk and get a little crazy. It isn’t the best, so bare with me!

  • After moisturizing my face I used NYX shadow crayon in “milk” to prime my lids and act as a base.
  • I then reached for my Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye Palette

427164

  • I used the light gray shade above the black “Lazarus”, as my transition shade in my crease. The black shade “Shax” was used to define my crease and outter V. The white shade “Saleos” I used on my brow bone and inner corner. I then used the deeper gray shade “Liberatus” to soften my crease just a bit. I used the light orange-ish shade “Ludwin” to help blend the sharp lines closer to the inner part of my eye.

Now for the fun part!

  • I grabbed my L’oreal Infallible shadow in the shade “Endless Sea” and put it on the inner two thirds of my lid.
  • 427165

Isn’t it BEAUTIFUL!?

  • For my face I used the same products that I always do, I am really trying to just use them up so I can FINALLY use something new!
  • I did how ever get to use a new liquid liner, The Maybelline Master Precise eye pen in “black”. I also used the skinny liner in “black” to line my water line.
  • I then went back in with the L’oreal shadow to add some color under my lash line.
  • For my lips I used the Maybelline Color Sensational Matte lipstick in the shade “Daringly Nude”

427166

I love how creamy this lipstick is!

Now for the finished look!

427161427162427163

I also put a little braid in my hair, for an extra mermaidy look!

I really hope you enjoyed my attempt! Would you like more colorful or dramatic looks? Let me know!

Sunday FOTD Out and About

I had a nice day out and about today. We picked up some stuff we needed for the house, groceries, and some other things. P.S. I have a little makeup haul that will be posted soon!

While I was getting ready this morning I was going to use My Urban Decay Naked Palette to do my eyes. It is my go to when I am not trying to be super creative. When I was looking through my drawers for it, I am really unorganized I am working on it, I found the Smashbox Full Exposure Travel Palette under some other stuff! I got this as a little stocking stuffer over Christmas, but I never really played with it. I took the plunge and did so today.

0424162.jpg

To prime my eyes I used the Rimmel Hide the Blemish concealer in Ivory. I do not like this as a concealer, but it is actually a pretty great eye primer, it covers the dark veins and such. I used the light pink shade, which is labeled as “M3” on the back of the palette, as my transition/blending shade. I used the gray shade, labeled as “M6”, in my crease. The dark brown shade, “M1”, I used in my outer V. For my lid I used the sparkly pink shade, “S3”. This wasn’t light enough for me so I went in with the shade next to it, “S4” and placed it over top. I used the cream shade, “M4”, as my brow bone highlight and in my inner corner.

I then used my usual liquid liner, the Starlooks pro luxe pen in “jet”, to line my upper lash line and do a small flick. I then realized that the liner is FINALLY done, the pigmentation just wasn’t there. So I went over it with the Urban Decay Shadow in “Blackout”. This shade is available in the Naked 2 palette, but I purchased it in a single also, I never use a black shadow besides this one. It blows MAC “Carbon” out of the water.

On my lips is the Whipped liquid lipstick from Buxom in the shade “Centerfold” that I got in my April Ipsy bag!

I did my usual foundation routine, I try to use up products before opening new ones which for what I do isn’t a good idea. I have a ton of foundation just waiting to be opened. I set my face with the Coty Air Spun powder, besides my under eyes, I used the highlight shade in the Wet n’ Wild Contour Palette in the shade “Caramel Toffee”. I love using this powder to set my under eye area! I also used the contour shade in this palette to lightly contour.

I used the City Color Be Matte blush in “Papaya”. Used the Physicians Formula Season to Season bronzer in “light to medium” to bronze with.  I high lighted my face with the L’oreal True Match Lumi high lighter in “Rose”.

When I was finished I spritzed my face with MAC Fix +.

I hope you enjoyed this look! What makeup do you prefer to use? How was your Sunday? Let’s talk!
