Interviewing My Moms | A post to celebrate their anniversary and Pride Month.

I am going to share a very important part of my life with you all today. In honor of pride month, and the anniversary of two of the most important people in my life.

My moms.

They may not be my biological moms. (And I do love my Bio mom And dad and my Step Parents with my whole heart.) and may have met me later in my teens. But they have taught me, strength, compassion, and about what love and family really is.

They are my best friends, the people I go to when I feel lost. Not only did I give them the opportunity to be a mother, but they gave me the possibility to be apart of a stable loving family, which is not what I had growing up, to which I will refrain from discussing.

Meet Mama Tam and Mama Kathy

Enjoy the read.ā¤ļø

How did you meet?

Mama Tam is in glasses. Mama Kathy is not.

K: At work, we were being introduced by our boss. It was my interview day and he showed me around. Even I came to her, we shook hands and locked eyes. We got that butter fly feeling, well I did.

T: shivers.

K: Well we both did.

How long have you been together?

K: Seven years as of yesterday.

How did grandma and grandpa react when you came out?

Pop and grandma

K: My dad never said anything to me. My mom said she would love me no matter what. She didn’t agree with the sex, because she is Catholic.

When dad asks me now “why don’t you have a boyfriend?” Mom and I look and each other like šŸ˜ (Grandpa has Alzheimers)

M: I couldn’t tell my mom, because she was in heaven. I had already told Shaun (My cousin) and told grandpa with him. To be perfectly honest he said, whatever makes you happy.

Shaun

Grandpa

K: I think my mom knew

T: I think grandpa knew a little.

What was your first date together?

T: Rams football- no it wasn’t! It was a subway, where you gave me this ring.

K: No, it was a Chinese restaurant.

T: Yeah, we worked at different agencies at the time.

Mama Tam, when did you know you were a Lesbian?

T: I had experiences before with women, but had only been in relationships with men. That’s a good question. I mean falling in love with a woman, a light bulb didn’t go off. The more time spent with her the more I fall in love with her. I’m dead serious, I cannot picture my future with out her period. Ever. I was 18-19 when I realized I was sexually attracted to women. Women are so much more deeply beautiful than any man will ever be to me.

When did you fall in love with Mama K?

I was amazed by her kindness and caring and perfection.

K: My award winning personality.

T: Yes. That. She is stronger and brave and encouraging. She is how I got away from my ex husband

Mama K when did you realize you are a Lesbian?

K: I was young, I had experiences in high school. However, I figured I was during high school, but being catholic I still dated guys. Until I was around 30, that is when I started dating women.

When did you fall in love with Mama T?

k: A look and a handshake. Honest to god, I shook from head to toe. I had her hand in my hand and looked in those blue eyes. That was March 2012. June 22 we had our first altoid kiss. Because I dared her to take it off my tongue.

T: I did it.

K: Needless to say I shook all the way home.

What was it like parenting my from the time I was 16?

T: Hell, absolute hell in a hand basket.

K: Since I was unable to have children. You have been such a blessing to me.

T: As to I, serious.

K: and I would do absolutely anything for you.

What are some notable challenges you have faced as a lesbian couple, living in a conservative area in Missouri?

T: Maybe my Uncle being up approving.

K: That is the religious aspect as well.

T: Well, the Rams football game on my birthday. When the game was over we were going to walk on the river front. When we started on the walk we were holding hands. There were two guys walking behind us.

K: Well it wasn’t lighted well and you never know how people will react.

T: We have never been shown offends and no one has been rude. If a strange said something, I feel what I feel in my heart. I am not allowing someone to hurt my love when I not hurting them.

T: Did it happen to you before when you met me?

K: in Louisiana they were more conservative, but everyone knew. All of the friends I met were cool with me. My GF and I would not walk around and hold hands unless we were going to the gay bar at home.

How did Aunt Stacy react to your relationship with Mama K?

T: She knew, we all three worked at an office together. She knew before I told her.

What is your advice for someone coming out later in life?

T: Just do it. No one else should pressure you, threaten you or give you an ultimatum. Just come out when you are ready. Honesty

K: Honesty, sit down with your parents. Don’t wait for your mom to ask me like I did. If I could do it over, I would have came out to my mom a lot sooner.

Random Mom Tam:

T: And even with out Kathy ever being able to meet my mother in the flesh Kathy has a bond with her. And how I know this is, when she looks me straight in the eye and cups my face and goes down my face with her fingers. Just like my mom used to.

K: I didn’t know she did that. She told me one day after I had made it a habit that her mom used to do it.

What advise do you have for gay couples or any couple thinking of adopting an older child?

K: Patience, be open. Try to be their friend, but yet still parent them. Give them advice in not such and abrupt way. Talk with them don’t yell at them, listen. Do it in a way to get them to open up to you and talk about it.

T: You have to have that relationship from day one, so they know they can come to you and trust you to be their parent.

What is your favorite memory together?

T: Laughs. For me it’s the altoid moment. It was such a spontaneous thing that I never would have done. I felt like a young pre-teen of something! I feel as though I am a shy person until I get to know someone.

K: it was a bold move.

T: it was like an adult dare but then it was funny. I’m all the times we waited until everyone was gone, or we sneaked a quick kiss when no one was looking. We have so many awesome memories.

K: An altoid sealed our fate.

T: Seeing her hold a baby for the first time. That got to me.

T:The zoo!

K: that was funny, we both had who we were with at the time with us.

T: Mine knew I was attracted to her R didn’t!

K: R bought a T shirt that I wore to our football date!

When did I first really feel like your daughter?

T: When you got pregnant. (I had a son young, he was given for adoption to family friends who thought they couldn’t have kids.

K: When you started opening up to me about things. I hope you know you can talk to me about anything. I would never judge you ever, because I have been judged.

T: I think after Parker was born, I do believe that I backed off some. But I came back, and have never seconded guesses how much you fill my heart with joy,

K: And how much your smile brightens my day.

T: I swear you are the only person who can text me and I can understand your excitement. I think that is a special thing.

K: Agree.

Me: I knew when I would feel home sick when I wasn’t with you guys. And when I was pregnant with Parker and only wanted to be around you guys. And then how much I missed you guys when you weren’t talking to me. ( They didn’t not agree with my choice for adoption at first.)

T: The first time I met her I thought she was a porcelain princess with her head in the clouds.

K: Well. Unfortunately it was with M. I couldn’t figure out why you were with him. You were just gorgeous and shy. Until you had a few beers in ya. I thought once I finally started talking to you, how smart and educated you were. I knew down the road that you had bigger better dreams than he would have. And I knew you would go for it. There was no doubt in my mind, you were going to do good with or with out him. You have already proved that, you are running a company. (I manage a travel agency)So, my impression was right!

You are a brave girl and I think you show it every day with a battle you win. And you will win every battle because you have us two in you.

Now they ask me questions.

T: Well what did you think of me when you first met me?

The guy in this is my Boyfriend, Coty.

Me: When I first met you you were with that jerk and panicking.

T: At Kenny and Stacy’s?

Me: Yea, I just really wanted to help you some how.

Me: The more I got to know you, we are super similar and it first it just helped me to have someone who understood what I had gone through and was going through.

K: What about good ol me?

Me: You just seemed so calm and cool with everything! You just always looked like nothing phased you!

K: I found out the hard way getting mad isn’t worth it.

Me: Well good because you really provided the stability I never had in a parent.

T: Was there a moment or did things add up to make you feel that we ARE your mommies?

Me: I felt homesick when I wasn’t with you guys and I still do. You have supported me in every decision I have made, and never tried to rub it in my face when I was wrong.

T: When did you form an opinion on the LGBTQ community?

K: Was it prior to meeting us? Have you always felt the same way.

Me: Having a gay cousin I knew what it was. I always thought just so what makes you happy. Doesn’t affect me, why should I care who you want to be with.

K: What is it like having moms? How do people react?

Me: I have never felt weird about it. But people ask a lot of questions. They aren’t offensive. It’s just so normal to be that I don’t get why it would be questioned? They always ask who the dad is.

T: We base it off who wears cologne that day.

Any parting words for my readers?

T: Pitter patter lets get at ‘er.

K: Stay true to yourself.

T: Ditto, #freeyourmind # pitterpatterletsgetater can you do hashtags?

K: #mydaughterandme

We may not have come together like a traditional family, but we are family.

Thank you so much for reading guys šŸ‘©ā€šŸ‘©ā€šŸ‘§

Ipsy Glam Bag Plus | June 2019 Un-Boxing

This only took me a week to get up. (insert eye roll emoji) But, it has been a busy week!

My moms brought my cousin up from Louisiana, THE BLUES WON THE STANLEY CUP, I went to my first Cardinals game, and my boyfriend got a promotion- which means we get to move quicker, so we had to celebrate!

Now that I finally have some down time, I am catching up on some YouTube videos and brining you all my favorite thing, an unboxing!

This months theme is “Block Party”, because Ipsy came out with a collection with Tetris, which is super cute.

** For some reason not all of my images would up load. I apologize.

Ciate London Velvet Matte Liquid Lip “Pin Up” $19

I always think it is neat to get Ciate products in these boxes, sense they are a brand sold at Sephora. I think the only other lip product I have tried of theirs was one of the glitter flips, and I gave that away.

This shade is rather pretty, and it felt comfortable to swatch, so it is looking promising.

Sunday Riley CEO Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream $65

I actually use the serum companion to this cream already and I LOVE IT. My skin is brighter and my acne scars are much less dark than they have been in the past.

I am amazed to see the CEO Cream in my Ipsy Plus. I would have bought just this for the I believe $25 that the box costs.

Tetris x Ipsy “Game on” Eyeshadow Palette $24

The palette it’s self are cute, and the shades work for a simple look for the most part.

I have yet to try the shadow on my eyes, but this is not a 6 pan palette that I would spend $24 on. For just a few more dollars you can get the Huda Beauty Obsessions palettes, and I love those.

Keep an eye out for an upcoming post using this palette, because I am hoping it proves its price to me!

Pixi By Petra Lash Lift 188 $18

I didn’t realize that Pixi had mascaras.

This mascara has a typical large brush, but also a thin long brush house with in. I am hoping that this will work for my lower lash line. I am so tired of smudging.

FARAH Brushes 5 Piece Eye Perfection Set $50

I have tried some FARAH brushes in the past. They are soft but the handle itself feels super cheap. I will definitely use the brushes, I just can’t believe that this five piece set retails for $50!

Over all, it’s a good box. I’m not wowed or super excited, but I’m not mad either.

Again, I apologize that not all of my images wanted to cooperate!

Menagerie Feral Palette | A look and review

It has been months since I have reviewed a palette!

What a better way to get back in the game than reviewing the cutest cruelty free palette ever?!

The Feral palette retails for $29. It is cruelty free, talc free and vegan!

Please note, I do have the newer version of this palette. I believe the first version had two different shades in the top row.

The Packaging

Of course the packaging is beautiful, but what else?

The palette is magnetic, I believe this is what makes the palette feel so weighted. The palette includes a mirror inside, which is great.

I would not travel with this palette, however. It did arrive to me with the shade “Wolfling” broken. No problem, it’s a pressed glitter, easy fix. But, it would be a mess if that happened during travel.

The shades

  • Harmonia- A matte robins egg blue
  • Wolfling- A rose gold pressed glitter
  • Canis Lupus- A very light matte brown. Warm undertones.
  • Alpha- A matte dark gray

  • Pack Leader- A hot pink pressed glitter
  • Allium- A matte purple
  • Mariposa-A matte orange
  • Night Eyes- A matte yellow

  • Wisteria- A matte pinky peach
  • Fenris- A matte green
  • Ivy- A darker matte green, almost a hunter green.
  • Huechera- A green pressed glitter.

The Look

I primed with the original Urban Decay Primed potion.

  • For my crease I started with Canis Lupus as my transition. I just used a big fluffy crease brush for this step.
  • Using a basic crease brush I placed Fenris all over my lid and blended it into my crease.
  • On my outer half of my lid I used the same brush as before and placed Ivy on that part of my lid and blended it up into my outer crease.
  • Of the inner half of my lid I placed Wolfling with a flat brush.

  • I started on my lower lash line with a pencil brush and the shade Ivy, getting it as close to my lash line as possible.
  • I then blended this out with Fenris.
  • I just took the first fluffy brush that I used and blended everything with the shade Canis Lupus.
  • For my inner corner I just popped in a random highlight, I can’t recall which one, but any light shade will work.

Over all thoughts?

I love this palette over all! The color story is beautiful and so fun. I want the packaging as a framed piece of art. Coty was even stunned with how pretty the art on the packaging is!

The formula for the matte shadows is probably one of the best, if not the best that I have ever tried. Each matte shade is pigmented and buttery. They are very easy to blend, and stay just a vibrant all day long.

Now, for the only think I dislike about this palette. The presses glitters.

I am not surprised by this.

I have yet to try any pressed glitter formula that I like. I also don’t use loose glitter. I guess glitter just isn’t my thing.

If I were to use up any of the matte shades in this palette, I would with out a doubt purchase the singles that Menagerie sells for $5 on their site.

If you have yet to try this palette, I highly recommend giving it a shot!

You can purchase it Here.

Have you tried this palette? What products from Menagerie do you love?

Thank you for reading šŸ•·

A Skin Care Favorite | Wander Beauty Lift Off Purifying and Brightening Peel Off Mask

Has I have mentioned, way too much, my motivation has been non-existent. While it is starting to come back, at least half the days out of the week brushing my hair alone feels like the hardest thing in the world.

I suffer from Bi-polar disorder, PTSD, Boarder line Personality Disorder, and Generalized Anxiety. Sometimes it is too much. I shut down. I disassociate. I lock myself away. I make myself go to work, so everything else is too daunting. It’s too much stimulation and interaction.

But, a twinge will hit me- I need to do something to help. I need to try. And my favorite simple way to at least make myself feel like I tried is peel off face masks.

You smooth it on your face and then in 30 minuets, or once try, you just peel it off.

But, there are a few reasons why the Wander Beauty Lift Off Peel Off Mask is my favorite.

Let’s just start with the most basic thing about this product. How it looks

It’s a shiny rose gold. Just looking at it makes me feel, I suppose more at peace in a sense? I am a very visual person. Which is why I love makeup SO MUCH.

Another thing I really like about the Lift Off Mask is the ingredients that it does not contain.

  • Mineral oils
  • Parabens
  • Phthalates
  • Synthetic Fragrance
  • Gluten

This Mask is also cruelty free and vegan!

But, do the claims and $34 price tag hold up?

Yes!

After use my over all complexion looks and feel better. My skin has a glow to it.

This Mask also draws acne and black heads to a head. Place and acne treatment on them after use of the mask and they clear up like that.

It is crazy to me what something so simple as a face mask can do for my over all mental health, even if it is only for a little bit.

What is your current favorite face mask?

My Recent Makeup Favorites | Cruelty Free and mostly inexpensive!

It has been ages since I have shared my current favorite makeup products.

Now seemed to be as good a time as ever!

Omitting two products, all of the products are in the drugstore price range, and all are cruelty free!

Hard Candy Sheer Envy Blur Primer $8 Here

Not only do I use this primer to improve the look of my pores, but I love using this primer all over my face.

It minimizes the look of my pores in my problem areas, but always helps to create a blank canvas on the rest of my face.

Kokie Be Bright Illuminating Concealer “Light” $8 Here.

I believe that I received this product in a past Ipsy bag, and I am glad I did!

The shade allows me to cover spots, and the illuminating properties also make it great for the under eye area, with out creasing!

Too Faced Peach Perfect Foundation “Snow” $36 Here

To be completely candid, I HATED this foundation at first. But, with recent medical and medicine changes, my skin has gotten more oily than it ever has been.

Now, I am in love. It lasts through out my work day and actually seems to control oil as it claims.

Well worth the $36 price tag!

I šŸ–¤ Revolution “Rose Gold Glow” $7 Here

I was attracted to this product at first due to the packaging. It is a pink and rose gold chocolate bar! But it really is the product that gets me.

Inside the compact you have a nice mirror, the packaging is sturdy. For $7 these highlights are fantastic! They won’t blind you from space, but they are more than subtle.

On the face, both shades work with my light complexion.

I šŸ–¤ Revolution “Bronze and Glow” $7 Here

Have I mentioned I am obsessed with bronzer lately? Because I really am.

The packaging for this product has all the perks as the “Rose Gold Glow” duo does…

But, with the benefits of a matte bronzer! The shade of this bronzer is perfect for my skin tone, and so is the highlight!

Did I mention that this particular duo also smells faintly like chocolate?

Hard Candy Plumping Serum Volumizing Lip Gloss “Pink Cadillac” $6 Here

The shade itself is a super light pink. It does not show up on my lips, but this is what I want for how I use it! On no makeup or light makeup days, I love this gloss to give my lives a little life and plumpness.

The gloss does make my lips a bit fuller, but it doesn’t make them tingle or burn like I have found other plumping glosses to. The smell is not over powering, and it isn’t as stick has I find other glosses to be!

Black Moon Liquid Lipstick “Warrior” $18 Here

The formula is long lasting and comfortable. It’s so comfortable that it’s easy to forget that you even have lipstick on!

The shade “Warrior” itself is a pretty dusty nude, that leans pink. It looks more mauve in the tube than it applies on me. But, I think the shade that it does come out as is stunning.

Colour Pop Ultra Matte Lip “Sueno De Coco” $7 Here

This liquid lip is part of the Colour Pop and I Luv Sarahii collaboration.

It is the typical Colour Pop Ultra matte formula, which I really enjoy. In fact, I really like all over the Colour Pop liquid formulas!

The shade is a ready nude and I am obsessed with it. This is probably the lip product that I have been wearing the moss recently.

Here are the products all on my face! For my lips I went with “Warrior”. And yes, that is the lighter highlight from the “Rose Gold Glow” popping in my inner corner!

Now I want to know, what are your recent Cruelty Free favorites?

Breaking News: Wet Nā€™ Wild is no longer Logical Harmony Approved!

I had another post planned today, but in light of recent news, I thought that this update was an important piece of news to share.

It appears that beloved brand Wet N’ Wild has been selling in stores in main land China despite claiming to be cruelty free.

What does this mean? This means that by Logical Harmony standards Wet N’ Wild is NOT cruelty free.

Why? When selling in store in main land China, brands subject them selves to post market testing. Meaning, at any time the government can pull the products from shelves, with out alerting the brand, for animal testing.

For more updates and more of an explanation, please watch the latest logical harmony video on YouTube. Here!

For a complete list of Cruelty Brands please visit The official Logical Harmony website

The image above is my collection of Wet N Wild makeup. What is used I will be passing on to family and friends. What is not I will be donating to a local women’s shelter.

Other brands to try:

My First Ipsy Glam Bag Plus!

Hitting you with double Ipsy un-boxing’s to makeup for my missed months!

I finally was able to subscribe to glam bag plus!!!!

It is $25 a month and you get 5-6 full size beauty and makeup items.

First, my add ons!

I love that Ipsy does add ons now! You can find some really awesome things for much less than retail value. They have even had those mini Huda palettes for like $12!

This months I picked…

Smashbox Cover Shot Major Metals

This one was $12, again much less than retail value. I have wanted to try Smashbox Shadows for ages, but never picked any up. I decided to take the chance, while I could get one for a cheaper price. This one is all metallic, and primarily warm toned. I am excited to give it a go!

Lovecraft Beauty Bronzer Palette

Another $12 add on! I have a weird bronzer addiction lately, so I couldn’t pass up a trio in such cute packaging. Love craft beauty is also cruelty free! The formula is really soft, and with three different shades, this palette can be used all year long.

Now to the actually box…

IL Makiage Icon High Volume and Intense Curl Mascara “Black” $25

One product down and the box is already paid for!

I have heard a ton about IL Makiage as a brand, so it is exciting to see something from them in an Ipsy Box. Hopefully the Mascara lives up to its “Iconic” name.

Is this brand CF?

GlamGlow Bubble Sheet Masks 3 for $27

This Mask is meant to be deep cleaning, so I am for it. But, Glam Glow is not CF to my knowledge, so I may end up passing these a long.

Illamasqua Lip Coloring Pencil Duo “Media and Lust” $21 each

Media is a more pink shade and Lust is a more red shade.

I have been getting a lot of Illamasqua in boxes lately!

Wander Beauty Wandress Seascape Escape Palette $25

I have a few things for Wander Beauty that I really enjoy, so I am excited to try this palette. I do believe that this is a newer product for them as well.

The formula is a little strange, so I am curious to see how it wears. The color scheme definitely reminds me of the beach! There is not a true matte shade. The one that appears matte has shimmer in it.

Yensa Tone Up Primer Essential Glow $35

I am really curious about this primer. It is full of good ingredients, and missing a lot of bad ones. It is also cruelty free.

My first Glam Bag Plus’s was definitely a good one and I am excited to see what the coming months bring!

Would you like to see any of these products reviewed?!
