Beauty Empties July 2020 | Reviewing the Highlights!

I have been on a roll with empties the past few months! Keep reading to see my thoughts on some of the items I finished this month.

Skin and Hair Care

Acure Resurfacing Overnight Glycolic Treatment 10mL

This was a sample size I some how came to own. It is a vegan and clean formula. I have tried a few night masks now, and this one has been my favorite! RP? Yes!!!

Sunday Riley CEO Glow Face Oil $40

Serums are hard to finish, I feel accomplished! I really enjoyed this serum, and saw a great improvement in my skin over all while using it. RP? Probably, I have a few to try out before then though.

Acure Pore Clarifying Red Clay Mask

I really enjoyed this mask. I really did help to clean out my pores, and improved their size over all. RP? Yes, once I get few some of the masks in my stash.

Evolvh Ultimate Styling Lotion 59mL $16

I used this on damp hair and it was fantastic. It made my hair less frizzy and my natural waves very pretty. The smell is light and over all enjoyable. RP? Yes! But, I have a few more similar items to use first.

Bioclarity Hydrate Skin Smoothie $14.95

I received this item in PR. I enjoyed this as a day time moisturizer, but it takes to long to sink into the skin, causing my face to have a bit of a greasy feel. RP? No, I do my morning skincare then makeup. So, this just didn’t work for me.

Pacifica Rose Water Makeup Wipes $5

I did enjoy these for makeup removal. They feel soothing and did a good job as a first cleanse. RP? No, I actually found some from Pacifica I prefer.

Dr. huang Beauty Lab Tea Tree Soothing Sheet Mask $3

This mask did its job. My face felt soothed! RP? Maybe, I currently have a literal Alex drawer full of sheet masks to go through.

Makeup

Jouer Powder Highlight “Citrine” $24

This highlight was beautiful. I have never even make a dent in a highlighter before, so that should say something RP? No actually, I have a ton of highlighters and I really don’t need more.

The Grow Gal The Instatint Tinted Brow Gel w/Microfibers $22

I had these both going at the same time, and ended up panning them both this month. It works well! I had the shade 02. RP? No, I like the Milk makeup one better.

Vasanti Kajal Waterline Eyeliner “Black” $19

I did not like this in my waterline. It actually had a problem with smudging. RP? Nope.

I used up a lot this month, not including what I reviewed. I used up $281.81 worth of product! Not too shabby at all!

What is something you used up this month? Comment below!

A full face of makeup I am panning | I let the music guide the look

I have started following a lot of panning groups on Reddit ( u/mrsmandreedus) and decided to start my own project pan.

I will not solely use these products, but for work, and when I need a quick look. These are the products I will be reaching for.

I decided it would be fun to do a full face for y’all with the products, but I decided to add a twist. I listened to the “Sad Covers” play list on Spotify, and let the music help guide the look! Let’s just say, it turned out grungy.

Base products

For my primer I am using up the last little bit of my last Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. I love this primer, I just have so many and need to use them up.

For my concealer I am scraping out the last bits of my Tarte Shape Tape in Fair. This is my favorite concealer and I will repurchase it once this one is gone.

For my foundation I am trying to finish the Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation in F1. I am not 100% on how I really feel about this foundation. Some days I love how it looks, but othersI HATE it.

The powder I am trying to pan is the Elf Tone Correcting Powder in Cool. I enjoy this powder, but it doesn’t do enough color correction for me to repurchase it. It does set well though.

Face color products

For my blush and bronzer I am using up the ELF Contouring Blush and Bronzer in Fiji Matte. I have gone through a few of these over the years. As you can see the bronzer is pretty much done for. I will probably be repurchasing this guy.

The highlighter I am trying to pan is Citrine from Jouer. I love this highlight and don’t want to see it go. But, I dropped it once and keep having to repress it. So I want to use it to get it out of the way. I probably won’t repurchase because I do have so many similar highlighters.

Brows

The pencil I am trying to use up is from Winky Luxe. I have had it so long that the packing design has rubbed away. It is a decent pencil, but nothing special.

For my brow gel, I am using up The Brow Gal Instant tinted brow gel in Brown 02. I actually really like this product. It really helps to make my brows look full and natural. I have another one to use up after this one. Then I will probably repurchase.

Eyeshadow

The primer I am trying to pan is the MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ocher. This stuff last forever. It works great, but it isn’t something I would spend the money on again.

The eyeshadow palette I am hoping to pan is the ABH Modern Renaissance palette. This is my all time favorite eyeshadow palette. If I pan a decent amount of it I will repurchase.

Eyeliner

For my water and tight line, I am trying to finish is the Covergirl Liquiline Blast in Black. I love this liner. I won’t repurchase it though, because I have so many black liners.

For liquid liner, I am trying to pan the never ending Revolution Renaissance Flick liner in Black. I really love this liner and will be repurchasing it. Even though I have like 15 black liquid liners, but whatever.

Mascara

I always use two mascaras at a time. It’s a weird habit, but I have always done it.

The first one I am trying to use up is Maybelline The Falsies Volume Express in Black. It’s an okay mascara, but nothing I would repurchase.

The second mascara I am trying to use up is the Tarte Big Ego mascara. To be honest, I was let down by this mascara. I usually love the Mascaras from Tarte, but this one is leaving much to be desired.

Lips

I have almost panned the KVD Liquid Lip and Lip Liner in Lolita. This is my go to lip shade and I will be repurchasing.

Setting Spray

For setting spray I am almost done with my second to last Mac Fix Plus. I actually do really like this stuff. However, I have others sprays that work just as well, for a lower price. As of right now, I probably will not repurchase.

Target Beauty Box NOV. 2017| Hello Pause Button

What it is: A monthly box of drugstore beauty goodies, that IS NOT a subscription. So keep your eyes peeled for it!

Cost: $5-$10

Novembers’ Box is all about tuning out of the hustle and bustle of the world and relaxing, which is something that is very hard to do during the holiday season.

*this is not a CF Box. Any non-CF products I will be passing on.*

*The card in the box does not contain prices but, does contain a $3 off $15 beauty purchase at target coupon.*

Dove Derma 2-in-1 Ant-dandruff Shampoo and Conditioner

“All in one scalp formula effectively tackles dandruff while renewing scalp and hairs natural moisture.”

Sadly, Dove is not CF. I would have loved to try this product out. I have a really itchy scalp and would have actually gotten a lot of use out of this product. I will be passing it along to someone who will use it.

Skinfix Ultra Rich Hand Cream

“Quickly absorbing Cream is loaded with Shea butter, allantoin and natural oils to relieve dry, cracked hands.”

Now, this is a CF! I’m excited to try a Skinfix product, they have been on my radar for a bit now. As the weather gets colder, my hands get more dry and painful. I am sure this cream will come in handy..

There is no discernible scent, but it feels fantastic.

Missha Snail Hydro-Gel Mask

“Snail mucin and baobab tree extract work to hydrate, heal and soothe the skin while helping to prevent aging.”

I am actually unaware of Misshas’ CF stance, but I am going to take a wild guess and say, NO. 🐌Going to be passing this mask along to my mom.

Tom’s of Maine Coconut Bar Soap

“Triple milled soap formulated to be gentle on skin and help maintain skins natural moisture.”

Not only is this brand CF, but it is pretty clean as well. It is a brand I know and love. I also REALLY love soap, so soap is always welcome.

Maybelline Great Lash mini

“Cult classic mascara features a lash doubling formula and volume increasing brush.”

Even before I went CF, great lash was not one of my favorite mascaras. This little dude is for sure being passed on. But, can we appreciate how cute it is in tiny packaging!?

La Roche-Posay Facial Cleanser

“Hydrating Cream gently cleanses and helps restore skins natural moisture, pH and protective barrier.”

I am not 100% sure if this brand is CF. If it is, I will be trying this cleanser. It seems like it will be really Hydrating and gentle.

That is all for this months Box! Not much I can use, but for the typical non-CF consumer the bargain of the box is worth $7. Not for me though. I am probably skipping the next Target Box.

Maybelline Vivid Mattes, We meet again.

vividmattes

I have previously reviewed this product, The Maybelline Vivid Matte liquid lip colors. I can’t seem to find that post though! Influenster recently sent me two of the shades Rebel Red and Nude Flush, to review and I thought, “why not try them again?” Now, I do not purchase anything that isn’t cruelty free, so just be aware that even if I like this product I will not actually purchase it. April 2016 Beauty Empties

aprilempties

We all have this really weird fascination with seeing inside each others trash. So, being the enabler that I am, I have decided to start saving my beauty trash and doing this monthly. Let’s see the junk I used up for April. Well, it isn’t ALL junk but some of it is.

Batiste Dry Shampoo $7.99: I did like this product. The bottle is cute and it smells pretty good. But, my unpopular opinion here, I have used better. Cheaper ones have made my hair look better and added more volume. Would I repurchase? Still up in the wind, but not this specific version. I have already purchased a different dry shampoo, and plan to review it because it smells like a tropical paradise.

Almay Get Up and Grow Mascara $6.49:  This is a pretty great mascara. BUT I have decided to start doing something that prevents me from buying Almay. So I will not repurchase this, but probably try to find one a lot like it!

Clearasil Ultra Daily Moisturizer $8.00: I do like this product for fighting acne, but it isn’t that moisturizing. I plan to purchase brands that the companies are a bit more refutable than this. It goes along with the statement I made with the Almay mascara. Not going to repurchase.

EOS Lip Balm in Lemon Drop $3.29: I love this stuff. I use it every single day while prepping my skin and every night after exfoliating. I am currently using the Honey Suckle Honey Dew flavor, and I am in love with it! I do really like that the Lemon one has 15 SPF in it, so I WILL be repurchasing this.

The sponge is just a cheap one from walmart. I do like it a lot but will probably not repurchase it, I am kind of addicted to the real techniques one right now. But, I do recommend that you see if your local Wal-Mart has this if you are wanting to save some dough.

Maybelline Lash Discovery Water Proof $6.23 I love this product for the bottom lashes. It gets every single one and there is no smudging. But, as stated before, I am starting a new thing when buying products. So, I will not repurchase it but hope to find a similar product.

L’oreal Brow Stylist Definer “Brunette” $8.99: I like this product and have 2 back ups already. After I finish them I will however not be repurchasing, for the same reason as stated before.

Star Looks LUXE long Wear Eye Liner Pen “black” $19.00: I LOVE this. After I finish up a few of the liquid liners I already have I am for sure repurchasing this! It lasts forever on the eyes and it is so easy to use. Speaking of long lasting this pen lasted me since August, and I used it a lot!

The next item is germ-x. This was just a Halloween one from Bath and Body Works. I use germ-x a lot. I always have some on my vanity because I use it before moisturizing my face. Already repurchased a lot of germ-x.

Burt’s Bees Renewal Firming Day Lotion in Hibiscus and Apple $19.99: I wish this wasn’t so heavily scented. The fragrance in this product really broke me out. While I will not be repurchasing this specific product I plan on purchasing a lot of Burt’s Bees other products.

What did you use up this month? WHat is your favorite and least favorite product? Let’s talk!

Today I thought I’d be a Mermaid. Dramatic Spring/Summer Look!

42716

Today I decided to do something a little different than I am used to. I do not do many dramatic looks and I hate false lashes. But, I was looking through my collection after work today and saw a really pretty shadow that I had never used. I decided to take a risk and get a little crazy. It isn’t the best, so bare with me!

  • After moisturizing my face I used NYX shadow crayon in “milk” to prime my lids and act as a base.
  • I then reached for my Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye Palette

427164

  • I used the light gray shade above the black “Lazarus”, as my transition shade in my crease. The black shade “Shax” was used to define my crease and outter V. The white shade “Saleos” I used on my brow bone and inner corner. I then used the deeper gray shade “Liberatus” to soften my crease just a bit. I used the light orange-ish shade “Ludwin” to help blend the sharp lines closer to the inner part of my eye.

Now for the fun part!

  • I grabbed my L’oreal Infallible shadow in the shade “Endless Sea” and put it on the inner two thirds of my lid.
  • 427165

Isn’t it BEAUTIFUL!?

  • For my face I used the same products that I always do, I am really trying to just use them up so I can FINALLY use something new!
  • I did how ever get to use a new liquid liner, The Maybelline Master Precise eye pen in “black”. I also used the skinny liner in “black” to line my water line.
  • I then went back in with the L’oreal shadow to add some color under my lash line.
  • For my lips I used the Maybelline Color Sensational Matte lipstick in the shade “Daringly Nude”

427166

I love how creamy this lipstick is!

Now for the finished look!

I also put a little braid in my hair, for an extra mermaidy look!

I really hope you enjoyed my attempt! Would you like more colorful or dramatic looks? Let me know!

My Favorite: Drugstore Mattes

drugstoremattes

* Only includes items you can find at drugstores, nothing that is drugstore priced, by can only be ordered online*

It may come as a surprise to you, but I love drugstore make-up. Only kidding, it’s almost all I talk about on the safe place of Beauty and TidBits. It used to be near impossible to find matte products at the drugstore, but as the matte make-up trend has taken off, more have popped up. However, it is still a bit hard to find GOOD ones. Well, no worries I am here to help! Continue reading “My Favorite: Drugstore Mattes”

Making it Wearable: Spring Trend 2016- Blue Eye Liner

I will be the first to say that I very rarely follow trends. I sort of just do what I like, but sense I have become more aware of the fashion world around me I have been crazy interested in make-up trends. Someone decided that blue eyeliner was going to be a thing for this spring, so I decided to test it out. My goal was to make it easier to do, a bit more wearable, and provide you with a great drugstore option, because I am sorry but I am not spending close to $15+ on a blue liner.
