Tid Bit Post: Millie’s 1st #Kai Krates Un-boxing!

Kai Krates is a $24.99 a month subscription box for your dog! The have boxes for small medium, and large dogs. The large dog box is also supposed to be good for dogs who are destructive, which is Millie. So I have gone with the large size dog box, and any treats I will just break up for now. She is a 4 month old German Shepard/Lab mix, so she won’t be little for long!

Kai Krates also has the option for a box that is just treats and chews. They also offer a treat sampler you can buy, which is neat! The little sampler would also make a great gift for people who are obsessed with their dogs.

The box contains 4-6 items each month, and will have a retail value well over what you paid for it.

You can sign up, here!

What is inside this months box?

I want to mention that this box contains no type of description card just the product names on the back of a slip of paper, and a treat or two may not include ingredients, I do not like this and will not feed treats to my dog that I am not sure what is in them.

  • The first thing is this little treat that reminds me of a hamburger patty. It was just in a plastic baggie, so it has no info about it on the packaging. I have no idea what is in here, so I am just going to throw this away, give it to a friend who doesn’t care what are in the treats, or throw it in with some donations to my local no kill shelter. But, I doubt they would give this to the pups their either.
  • The second this is this super cute raccoon toy from Dawgee. It is made in China, so we will have to see how high quality it is. I might do a little review of the toy if any of you pet parents are interested. This retails on amazon for $12.26
  • The third thing is the Mammoth Flossy Chews Extra. Millie loves this kind of toy. This specific one is meant for strong chewers and is supposed to help with dental hygiene. Also made in China. Retails for $6.99
  • The next thing is the Chicken Dippin’ Chewy Sticks. They have chicken on the outside and brown rice on the inside. They are supposed to be low in fat. This product is made in Vietnam. I prefer to give my dog treats from the US, just because the standards are higher. The ingredients for these don’t look so hot either, so I will probably be giving these away.
  • The last item is a Smoke House Pet Product. It is a 10.5″ slice of prime select meat. I am going to let Millie try this one out and see how it goes, she really loves chews. UPDATE: Millie stole the chew herself, so I decided to just let her have it while I supervise.

Over All Impression:

I would skip Kai Krates and go with Pet Treater or Bark Box, if you look a lot at the ingredients of the treats or where your pets toys are made. I do not think I will be renewing Kai Krates for another month, sadly.

Here is a picture of sleepy Millie for siting through this review!

Tid Bit Post: Millie’s 1st Pet Treater UN-Boxing!

How is everyone?

As some of you may have read, almost a month ago Josiah and I got a dog! She is a 3 almost 4 month old Shepard/Lab mix. My friend had a family member who had to get rid of her, she was going to go to a shelter. Instead we adopted her!

In true B&T style my new little lady had to have her very own subscription box. After a ton of research, I decided to settle on Pet Treater! For $24.95 a month you get a box packed full of goodies for your dog, and even one for yourself. If you use the code “PT bed” you can get a free bed for your pup with your first box! You can chose your dogs size; small, medium, or large. Right now we get Millie the medium box, but according to our vet this time next year she will be over 50 lbs, there fore will be moved to the large dog box.

The Free Bed:

Please ignore the mess, my best friend and I were making fall pillows and Millie had gotten into the fluff moments before this picture. Bad planning on my part.

At first I though the bed was going to be to small, but she has been curling up in it a lot so I guess it isn’t that small. The tag with the bed says it was made in America by textile workers and costs $14.99. I think that is a pretty good deal to get for free. It is really soft with strong stitching. It isn’t an eye sore either. My living room is the least decorated room in my house though, I change it up for the season and haven’t put up my fall stuff yet.

In the box:

When you open the box there is always a little note addressed to your dog, from another dog. I think this is precious. There is also a little card stating the current months theme, next months theme, and the dog of the month. This months theme is “Ain’t nothing but a hound dog”. Is that not adorable?!

The first thing I pulled out of the box was the biggest, and it is really going to come in handy where I live. It is a mat that you can freeze and heat up in the microwave to help keep your pet comfort able. I live in mid-western America, in the winter it is freezing and in the summer it is burning hot. We are going to be using this a lot. The mat is soft and just looks like fake sheeps wool.

The next thing I pulled out was a toy! It is a rope toy, Millie loves rope toys, with a rubber casing. It is meant to be really durable. In fact, as I am typing this Millie brought it in to my little beauty/rat room to play with. I am going to say this is a win for her. We have other toys by this brand and they are all really nice. Millie is currently teething and she has been chhewing of the blue part a ton, I think it feels good  on her teeth.

The next thing is this month’s “Pet Treater For Your Human”. The candle doesn’t really have a strong scent, but it is cute for an Elvis lover. I am actually thinking of giving it to my mom because my step-dad is taking her to Memphis for her 50th birthday. I do like that they make an effort to include something for the human!

I think this is hilarious. This is the last toy in this months box, it is a blue suede shoe! It feels like an actual slipper and has a squeaker in the toes.

Even the back of it is funny! For some reason Millie really loves this toy. It has been her go to ever since it came in the box. She runs around the house with it in her mouth, wants it to be thrown, wants to play tug a war with it, and snuggles it. It is pretty precious.

This one is pretty cool as well. One of the treats this month was a home made treat from emmys gourmet dog treats. ( The company name isn’t  exactly as I stated I lost the little bag.) It is in the flavor three cheese pleasers and Millie really liked it. I broke it up into three pieces and gave it to her over a few days. I am going to have to get the exact company name and order more treats!

More treats! These dog cookies are s’more flavored and man do they smell good! The smell like people cookies, even better than some I have smelt. Millie loves these little dog oreo’s. By the way, all the treats mentioned in this post are made in the USA and of all natural ingredients. I would not give her something that isn’t natural, preferably all treats shes gets are grain-free.

This is the last item in the box. This sounds so fun! It is a cheese cake you make for your puppy!! If you can see in the bottom left corner, I am very happy with its contents. I may have to do a post about this once I make it. I didn’t know this sort of thing even existed!!

I love this box and I am so happy I decided to go with it! I can not wait to get it in the months to come! It is a fantastic value and everything in it, omitting the candle is really handy or will for sure be consumed by Millie.
