Cover Girl Tru Blend Blushes and Bronzer. Are they worth it?

I found this product a few weeks ago at my local Wal-Mart, the land of impulse buys. At the time they were on an end cap, along with three new primers that I also purchased, but that is another post. I noticed today while picking up a box of hair color (anyone interested to see this new change?) that they are now in the regular makeup aisle.

ONWARD TO THE REVIEW!!!!

The Blushes

There are 3 blush colors in this line; Light rose, medium rose, and deep mauve. These blushes are amazing. I truly love each and every one. If you need to build it up or blend it out it is very easy to do. The only off thing that I noticed about them is that the pan of baked product is smaller than the space it is in, so it makes me a bit nervous that they will fall out. But, that is really the only down side I could find. They are smooth and very long wearing! I am very impressed. Continue reading “Cover Girl Tru Blend Blushes and Bronzer. Are they worth it?”

WTF Friday; a full brow kit for less that $5?!

While I was browsing amazon I came upon a product, from a company I had only heard a bit about on youtube. The brand, W7, is a UK based drugstore brand. They have a ton of products, I will link their site here.  The product I found on amazon though is the one I want to talk about today, The W7 Brow Parlor.

It comes in a really cute tin, but it is a bit bulky. If you are wondering what the Walking Dead thing is covering, it is covering a really great mirror! The kit includes a small tweezers, which actually are pretty nice and sturdy! I really liked using them for a quick pluck. It also comes with a small double ended brush. The spooly end is great, but the brush end is different. The brush itself is cut think and just didn’t work for my brows. Continue reading “WTF Friday; a full brow kit for less that $5?!”

NYX Tricks of the Trade Travel Kit Review

nyx

This little kit is an amazing idea. It is most of the NYX products used by industry professionals, all in one compact place, and for a good price. I purchased this at my local  Ulta on sale for $12.99 (originally $24.99) so move fast! This is also a nice little kit to purchase if you aren’t too familiar with NYX products. Let’s get into the review!

NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee

This gloss is a cult classic. It smells great, feels great, and last a surprisingly long time. The sheerness of the gloss is very true to the swatch. A sheer wash of nude pink on the lips.

Price: $4.99 at Ulta.com http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod5050009#

NYX Blush and Contour Duo

This is another beautiful product. Sadly, the contour is a bit too warm for my winter skin tone. But, it’ll be great this summer! This blush is great on my current light skin tone, it left a “winter wind kissed” flush. This is a very pigmented product though, so be careful! On the up side of that, not that pigmentation is a down side, both blush and contour are very smooth and very blend able.

Price: $9.00 at nyxcosmetics.com http://www.nyxcosmetics.com/cheek-contour-duo-palette/NYX_309.html?cgid=highlight-contour

Sephora ( inside JC Penny) It’s a Perfect 10 Set 2015( more like a many products mini review!)

Though this specific kit can no longer be purchased itself, the products included inside the kit can. Therefore, I decided it was worth while to review its contents and do a simple look with them and see how much lasting power they have as a whole! So, continue reading if you are interested in my take on the 10 products included in this nifty little kit!

As you can probably see from the image above there are some pretty awesome products included in this kit. BUT sense, as I stated before, this kit is no longer available (unless some lucky person can find it on Ebay) take this as a product by product review. Let’s get started.

The first product I pulled out of the kit was the Original Beauty Blender. I don’t want to spend too much time on this product, because we all know it is a tried and true way to do many steps of your makeup routine. It’s safe to say I love this product and was glad to receive it.

This perfume (Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black)  was the main reason I purchased the kit. I absolutely love it! With its notes of sandalwood, violet, and vanilla; this perfume gives off a really warm, sexy scent.

Price: Roller ball at Sephora is $22

Does the Urban Decay all nighter makeup setting spray really need another review? No, but I am doing one anyway! I love this product, I have gone through a few full sizes of this sucker and was very pleased to receive a travel size of it within this kit. Travel size setting sprays come in handy much more than you would think in a 20 year old woman’s life!

Price: Travel size: $14; Full size: $30

I was not very fond of the Makeup Forever primer that was included. It didn’t actually do much as a primer and acted more as a moisturizer, which I should have expected because of the name. There are a few other formulations of this primer ( only at Sephora) that I am willing to try, but this one just was not meant for me, which is surprising, sense my skin tends to be very dry. I would also like to mention that this sample literally had one use in it. How can you truly judge a product with only one use Sephora?!
