Clove + Hallow Sunrise Pressed Pigment Palette | A Look & Review

Let’s play with some eyeshadow!

Clove + Hallow is a cruelty free, vegan, and clean beauty brand. I hear a lot that it is more affordable, and in the green beauty space I would agree. However, it is still rather pricey in my opinion.

The Sunrise Pressed Pigment Palette contains six shades. Two lattes and four shimmers. It retails for $36.

It also has some nourishing ingredients for the eye area. There is rosemary, rice bran, and sunflower extract to protect and soothe the eye area.

The pigments are contained in recyclable cardboard, mirror free, packaging.

There are no shade names, so I will try to do a little bit of a description.

  • Copper shimmer
  • Champagne shimmer
  • Very light champagne shimmer with more of a yellow pull.

  • A matte chocolate brown
  • A matte warm toned brown, very orange undertones.
  • A shimmery gold.

I did a super light take on a halo eye.

  • I started by applying the warm orange brown on my inner and outer corner, and blended it into my crease, and up towards my brow bone.
  • I then placed the chocolate brown over the other shadow on the inner and outer corner of my eye and lightly into the crease.
  • After that, I used that sort of coppery shimmer and placed it on the center of the lid with my finger.

  • I took the orangey brown and buffed it along my lower lash area. I wanted to keep it blown out and simple.

Over all thoughts?

I enjoy this palette. I think the pigmentation is lovely, and the formula is rather creamy. I didn’t notice much kick up, which can be a bit of a problem with more natural shadows, which isn’t an issue for me. If you are into, or just getting into using more cleaner beauty items, I recommend picking up this little palette. You can get a variety of day time and night time looks, with very little effort!

Tom Ford Traceless Matte Foundation | Review and Wear Test

I was sent this foundation by Influenster for review.

Welcome back to my foundation journey! I got lucky with this one, thanks Influenster.

Before we even get into my thoughts and the wear test. I do not, and will NEVER recommend ANYTHING from Tom Ford to you. Tom Ford is NOT a cruelty free brand. HOWEVER, not everyone who enjoys my blog is cruelty free, and I saw this as a great opportunity to give my personal opinion about a very expensive foundation.

Now, let’s begin.

The Tom Ford claims that the Traceless Soft Matte Foundation is hydrating with a silky formula. It is supposed to be medium to full coverage that lasts all day without looking cakey or dry. It has soft-focus microsphere powders that are meant to blur skin and wear extending pigments that are supposed to provide medium to full coverage. It is supposed to move like skin and feel smoother over time.

Here is the foundation look upon initial application.

I used a moisturizing primer and applied two layers of foundation with a brush. I would not say it provides full coverage as you can still clearly see the freckles on my nose and the few on my cheeks.

6 Hours later (the voice for time skips in sponge bob)

I do agree that the foundation is extremely comfortable! It wasn’t itchy, or dry, or cakey at all. There is the normal wear in my T-Zone. But other than that, everything stayed beautifully through an easy, mostly indoors day. But! This foundation is $88, why are you wearing off my T-zone like any other foundation?

Do I think the foundation is worth the $88? 100% NO! For one, it is not Cruelty free. Secondly, you can get a SIMILAR type of wear from, for example, the Too Faced Born This Way foundation.

If you are not Cruelty Free and don’t mind shelling out the money on an expensive foundation, sure; give it a try, I’m sure you’ll be happy if you like matte finishes. But personally, absolutely not. I am going to pass this on to my sister that is as fair as I am, and I’m sure she will be very happy about it.

What is the most expensive foundation you have ever tried? This is mine! Comment below!

Beauty Empties July 2020 | Reviewing the Highlights!

I have been on a roll with empties the past few months! Keep reading to see my thoughts on some of the items I finished this month.

Skin and Hair Care

Acure Resurfacing Overnight Glycolic Treatment 10mL

This was a sample size I some how came to own. It is a vegan and clean formula. I have tried a few night masks now, and this one has been my favorite! RP? Yes!!!

Sunday Riley CEO Glow Face Oil $40

Serums are hard to finish, I feel accomplished! I really enjoyed this serum, and saw a great improvement in my skin over all while using it. RP? Probably, I have a few to try out before then though.

Acure Pore Clarifying Red Clay Mask

I really enjoyed this mask. I really did help to clean out my pores, and improved their size over all. RP? Yes, once I get few some of the masks in my stash.

Evolvh Ultimate Styling Lotion 59mL $16

I used this on damp hair and it was fantastic. It made my hair less frizzy and my natural waves very pretty. The smell is light and over all enjoyable. RP? Yes! But, I have a few more similar items to use first.

Bioclarity Hydrate Skin Smoothie $14.95

I received this item in PR. I enjoyed this as a day time moisturizer, but it takes to long to sink into the skin, causing my face to have a bit of a greasy feel. RP? No, I do my morning skincare then makeup. So, this just didn’t work for me.

Pacifica Rose Water Makeup Wipes $5

I did enjoy these for makeup removal. They feel soothing and did a good job as a first cleanse. RP? No, I actually found some from Pacifica I prefer.

Dr. huang Beauty Lab Tea Tree Soothing Sheet Mask $3

This mask did its job. My face felt soothed! RP? Maybe, I currently have a literal Alex drawer full of sheet masks to go through.

Makeup

Jouer Powder Highlight “Citrine” $24

This highlight was beautiful. I have never even make a dent in a highlighter before, so that should say something RP? No actually, I have a ton of highlighters and I really don’t need more.

The Grow Gal The Instatint Tinted Brow Gel w/Microfibers $22

I had these both going at the same time, and ended up panning them both this month. It works well! I had the shade 02. RP? No, I like the Milk makeup one better.

Vasanti Kajal Waterline Eyeliner “Black” $19

I did not like this in my waterline. It actually had a problem with smudging. RP? Nope.

I used up a lot this month, not including what I reviewed. I used up $281.81 worth of product! Not too shabby at all!

What is something you used up this month? Comment below!

My First Integrity Botanicals Haul | What did I get!?

Integrity Botanicals is a website that sells clean products. So no nasty ingredients! If you did not know, Integrity Botanicals also has a YouTube channel where the amazing Ashley from Green Bunny Video demos and reviews a tone of the products they sell on their site. Which is insanely helpful!

Let’s hop into my haul!

Something great about the Integrity Botanicals site, is that you can purchase sample sizes of some of the products! I took advantage of this feature to color match a few things, so let’s start there.

Hunt Beauty Duet Concealer $6 2 samples

People RAVE about this concealer, and I needed to try it. So I decided to start by sampling the sages fair and light. You get enough for a use or two. Perfect to match your shade, as well as see how you like the wear.

Lily Lolo BB Cream Sample $3

For this sample you get a foil packet. Lily Lolo is a brand I love, and I have been curious about their BB Cream, now I get to test it before I shell out the money for it!

Now for the full sized items I bought!

Lily Lolo Natural Mascara $20

This is a very popular mascara in the clean beauty space, and I have been dying to try it myself. The brush looks very fluffy and promising!

RMS Beauty “Un” Cover-up Cream Foundation $52

This is a foundation that Ashley raves about on both channels alllll the time, so I needed it for myself. I picked up shade 11. I am so excited to try this and let you all know my thoughts!

Not only can you purchase samples, but you get 3 free samples with every order. And the sample options are vast!

I picked up the Ritual De Fille Ash and Amber Eye soot in “Anima”, the Ere Perez Oat Milk Foundation in “Latte” and the Vapour Soft Focus Foundation in “100s”.

I am excited to try them all and give you some mini reviews!

What products interest you most in this haul? I would love to make some posts about them. Comment below!

Bite Beauty Change Maker Foundation & Primer | Review & Wear Test

Let’s talk about foundation for a minute. I think it is one of the most, if not the most important part of your makeup routine to really get right. A bad base can ruin everything! I am continually on the hunt for the perfect foundation, today I’m going to take you all on part of that journey.

But before foundation, I gotta prime! So let’s start off with the Bite Beauty Change Maker Skin Optimizing Primer $38.

There are two different formulas, one for normal to oily, and the one I picked up, normal to dry.

This primer really feels and acts as a moisturizer. I love how moisturizing it feels on the skin. It is meant to neutralize your skin type, while also gripping foundation.

This product also has some wonderful highlighted ingredients:

Willow Bark (Mattifying Primer): Helps mattify, control shine, and blur the look of pores without stripping skin.
– Hyaluronic Acid Complex (Hydrating Primer): A specialized blend of micronized hyaluronic particles and sodium PCA for enhanced hydration.
– Olive Oil (Hydrating Primer): Helps boost hydration.
– Maqui Berry: An antioxidant-rich ingredient that helps nurture your complexion.

Do I think it holds up to these claims? Yes and no. I really do think it neutralized my skin type. It was hydrating, nourishing, and did actually help control shine. However, I really do not think that it helped grip on to my foundation. You will see why in just a moment.

Now, the fun part. The Change Maker Supercharged Micellar Foundation $39.50

I believe there are 32 shades. The best fit for me was the lightest shade L 10. It is described as fair light with neutral under tones.

This foundation is meant to be creamy and long wearing, with buildable medium coverage.

Here are the highlighted ingredients:

Maqui Berry: Antioxidant-rich and helps nourish your complexion; native to Patagonia, known to be one of the purest environments on earth
Micellar Technology: Inspired by skincare, it gently mimics skin texture for a smooth, non-cakey look

Here is my face after the initial application. I find that this foundation applies best with your finger tips or a brush. I noticed that a sponge soaked up a lot of the product and make application a bit spotty.

Upon initial application I thought the base looked beautiful! I definitely believe that the coverage is buildable, but I wouldn’t say it builds to full coverage.

Here is 4 hours into wearing the foundation. I was spending time with my boyfriend’s family inside and out of the heat. You can see there is some break up around my nose and cheeks, and you can see some of my weird freckles.

Here is the wear after 6 hours, coverage is essentially gone from my t zone. Please note! I did wear a mask for about 30 minutes, so that does have an affect on the foundation.

Now, these pictures were taken the second time I tried this foundation. The first time I wore it, we had gone to the mall, then a bar, and the break down from heat and wearing a mask was horrible. I did not think that was a fair testing environment.

Overall, I thought this foundation was a great match and very comfortable. However, I do not think it is the right foundation to wear in the summer in warmer climates, or if you are going to be moving around a lot. I found that it noticeably sunk into my pores, and broke up quickly.

Before I give this foundation to one of my sisters to try, I want to try it again once it cools down here.

As of right now, I am not a fan of this foundation, but you never know. The climate could change my thoughts completely! At first I loved the Huda Beauty foundation, but now I hate it and gave it away. So, we will see what the future holds for the change maker foundation and I.

Have you tried the Changemaker Primer or Foundation? What are your thoughts? What is your favorite Bite Beauty Product? Comment below!

Petit Vour Beauty Box | July 2020

The Petit Vour Beauty Box retails for $18 a month. You receive 4 sample, sometimes full sized beauty items. All items are cruelty free, vegan, and non-toxic.

Mantra Mask CBD Collagen Mask $15

This mask promotes collagen regeneration to reduce inflammation and fine lines and wrinkles. I have tried masks from this brand before and did enjoy them.

Blissoma Photonic Facial Sunscreen and Mositurizer $17.50

This moisturizer skins into the skin quickly and provides 25 SPF to the skin. I used it as a primer today, and it works very well! My skin feels moisturized, not greasy, and I have that extra layer of SPF.

Kindred Beauty La Femme Body Oil $20

Fun fact about me, I am horrible at remembering to moisturize my body. I am trying to get better about it.

This body oil absorbs quickly and has a light rose scent. It soothes the skin, while leaving behind a very subtle shimmer.

Nude by Nature Natural Illusion Eyeshadow “Sunset” $20

This shadow is pigmented and very smooth. I have a feeling I am going to love this as a one and done shadow in the fall. I will make a future post look more in-depth into this shadow, maybe even more nude by nature products!

That is everything I got in my July Petit Vour Box. I am very happy with everything I got, and I’m excited to really get into testing it all.

3-in-1 Review | W3ll People

I have a few clean beauty items I am loving that I really wanted to share with you all, and they are all from W3ll People!

This is a more accessible clean beauty brand, in my opinion, sense it can be purchased at most Targets.

Let’s get into some reviews!

W3ll People High Vibrations Cheek Trio $19.99

To kick us off we have the High Vibrations 3 piece cheek palette cream. Contained is a cream highlighter and two cream blushes.

The creams skin easily into the skin and blend with no problems. I find that they are rather long wearing, even in the heat! If you are just getting into cream products, I think this would be a lovely one to start out with.

I used the middle blush shade and the highlight today. As you can see, the blush gives a luminous rosy look to the skin and the highlight really adds to that glow.

W3ll People Nudist 1 Palette $19.99

The nudist palette is more taupe toned, and reminds me a lot of the naked one palette. You have all the neutrals you need to create an easy every day look, as well as that darker brown to really spice things up.

I find that the shades are easy to blend. There is a bit of kick back so be aware of that. I don’t find that the shades fade through out the day. I have been reaching for this palette constantly. I really enjoy using the glittery brown shade all over my lid, then blended into the crease.

W3ll People Expressionist Mascara Mini $9.99

I have tried this mascara a few times now and I love it! It gives my lashes great length, and there is no smudging or flaking through out the day.

Over all, I highly recommend all of the products mentioned. W3ll People is a brand I have been obsessed with lately, and I can’t wait to try out more from them.

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box July 2020 | Summer Skin

The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box retails for around $25 a month. You receive 4-5 full or deluxe sample sized beauty items. All items are always cruelty free and vegan! The box will have a $50+ value.

This months box supports the Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary in Deer Trail, CO.

Let’s hope into the unboxing!

Suki Skincare Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser $11.95

This cleanser is meant to gently exfoliate your skin while revealing its natural radiance. I am almost done with my current exfoliator, so I’m anxious to give this one a try

This Way Fave Sunscreen SPF 35 $15

Who doesn’t need sunscreen? I have been flying through these sample tubes I have been sent. This sunscreen is meant to adapt to your skin tone, so it doesn’t leave a white caste. Neat! The little duck on the packaging is a super cute touch.

Authentic Beauty Concept Hydrate Hair Mask $10

This mask is light weight, but still intensely moisturizes hair. It smells soooo good, and can also be used as a detangler!

Wicked Good Perfume Roller “Sugared Violets” $15.95

The scent is very sweet and floral. From the few times I’ve used it, I’ve noticed that it is very long wearing. I am absolutely in love with it.

Pacifica Underarm Deodorant Wipes $3.50

I have seen these before at Target and have been interested in how well they work. It just seems a bit wasteful to use so many wipes, when you could just use a deodorant stick or cream. I am very intrigued to see how well they work in this horrible heat though.

That is it for my July Vegan Cuts Beauty Box! I am very happy with everything, and excited to try what I haven’t, and continue to love what I have tried. My box came to a total of $56.40.

Yessss! I needed this so bad. My cuticles are always horrible, but I never use anything specifically for them. Let’s see if their “natural hydrating complex” does the job.

Byroe Bitter Essence Toner $95

$95!? This stuff better change my life! This toner contains 33 green vegetable extracts that are meant to hydrate, purify, and help smooth unwanted texture. I have to admit, it does sound very promising.

Morphe x Manny MUA Glam Palette $20

This palette is very pretty, and I enjoy that they included highlighters. I am already thinking of some great looks to do with this baby, and can’t wait to show them to y’all.

Kenia Ontiveros Beauty Set and Define Kit $42

This palette contains setting shades, bronzer, contour and a highlight. The powders feel very soft, and I have a feeling they are going to wear beautifully on the skin.

Products I have been using on the daily | Summer 2020

This summer has been sweltering. So I set out to find a low effort routine, that handles well under heat. I think I found it for myself! And it is surprisingly full of powder products.

Base

After my skin care, I start by priming. I have been loving the Pür Cosmetics 4 in 1 correcting primer $33. It is moisturizing and sinks quickly into the skin. It has a nice light scent. It really helps to calm my skin down, and I do find it helps reduce redness.

My next step is concealing. I really love the Organic Skin Co. Hide and Seek Concealer in the shade Porcelain ($18 for the refill, magnetic pod). It doesn’t crease under the eyes and does a wonderful job at covering up blemishes. I find it blends in best using your fingers to really warm up the product.

I have been loving powder foundations specifically the Lily Lolo Mineral Foundation in China Doll $22. It gives a brightened and smooth look to the skin, and does a great job at covering up any remaining discoloration.

Colored Cosmetics

For bronzer I have been in love with the W3ll People Bio Baked Bronzer in Natural Tan $24.99. It gives a lovely sun kissed tan look to the skin. I also love packing it all over my lid and buffing it into my crease and under the eye, for a super easy, sultry eye look!

The highlighter I have been obsessed with is PYT Radiant Powder Highlighter in Backstage Pass $22. It gives a very luminous look to the skin. I also pop this under my brow bone and in the inner corner of my eyes, to complete that super easy eye look.

I have found my new all time favorite blush, and I can’t stop using it! The Lily Lolo Pressed Blush in Tickled Pink $20. This blush gives my cheeks a wind flushed look, while providing luminosity.

For the lips I have constantly been reaching for the Axiology Natural Lip Crayon in the shade Valour $26. For a lip crayon, it is rather long lasting. It is also not drying on the lips at all, even though it is matte. The crayon shape to the product makes reapplication through out the day a breeze!

Please ignore my red eye, I tried the Tarte Big Ego mascara, and I don’t think my left eye is okay with it.

Look at that highlighter!!

I hope you enjoyed reading about the products I am currently loving!
