Fortune Cookie Soap OTM | Rydell Forever

I finally got a new phone! So hopefully my pictures won’t look like absolute trash anymore.

Anyway…

I love Fortune Cookie Soap. Every month they have themed boxes, usually movie themed which I also love, that you can subscribe to. I believe it is like $28 a month.

The products are usually limited collection previews, and the products are for the most part full sized. Super cool.

September’s box theme is “Rydell Forever”, so Grease. I LOVE musicals almost as much as scary movies. Fun fact, I did chorus/ show choir for like 4 or five years. Most of middle school and some of High School. Only quitting because we moved states and I refused to be a part of anything at my new school.

Back to the point, smell good stuff!

“You’re the one that I want” Microdermabrasion Scrub $14.99

I love microdermabrasion scrubs. I have a lot of scaring on my face. I pick any number on my skin as a nervous habit. THE WORST. So, these scrubs are my best friend.

This one is scented lightly with sandal wood and apple. It does smell nice.

“Pink Ladies” Wax Tarts $4.99

scented with chamomile, wild lily, pink jasmine, and pineapple nectar.

These hearts smell amazing! I want to save them for spring though sense they have such a lovely floral scent. I may even include them in Christmas gifts to friends.

“T-Birds” Shower Steamer $3.99

Fun fact number two for this post. I don’t have a bath tub, just a stand up shower, so shower steamers are the closest I can get to a bath bomb. Needless to say I lohove them.

This one is scented with redwood, saffron, persimmon purée, and a touch of peach. I love peach.

“Tell me about it…Stud” Dry Oil $12.99

I don’t think I have ever used a dry oil. Apparently they are like a perfumed frizz spray for hair or can be used like a spray on lotion for the body.

Scented with cranberry, mandarin, plumeria, orange and a “sexy” musk.. it does smell amazing.

“Summer Lovin'” Aloe me Whipped Cream $7.99

Instead of their original whipped body cream, they have been sending it mixed with aloe gel. I can’t even explain how nice it feels on my legs!!! I have insanely bad eczema all over my legs. It itches and burns and sucks. This formula cools them down and soothes them.

This one is scented with beach sands, lemon zests, and banana.

“Greased Lightning” Hemp Seed Leave-in Conditioner $12.99

My frizz ball hair loves leave in conditioner. I just ran out of the Fortune Cookie Soap Argon Oil hair serum thing I was using, so this came at the perfect time.

Scented with bergamot (yaaasss), clycamen, and woody undertones.

Sandra Dee” Shower Smoothie $15.99

I cannot wait to use this, it smells so so good! My mom keeps trying to weasel it away from me. Sorry Janet!

Scented with Cotton Candy ( Que the pretty blue color) white raspberry, sparkling champagne, berries, and a touch of cypress.

That is it for this months box! Way worth the price to me, I love this brand so much!! It is creative, clean, and everything smells and works great.

Jane Iredale Triple Luxe Lipsticks | Influenster Vox Box

I recently got another Influenster Vox Box, and I think this is the best yet.

I have wanted to try more Jane Iredale products, so I was super excited to be selected for this box.

I am not the biggest fan of traditional lipstick because I am to lazy to reapply through out the day- but I have been reaching for my Wet N Wild and Burt’s Bee’s ones more recently.

Jane Iredale is Vegan and Cruelty Free.

Molly

Natalie

Joanna

Above is Joana on my lips.

Natalie, Joanna, Molly.

The packaging

The packaging of these lipsticks is spectacular. They are in a weighted gold bullet, with a magnetic cap. They feel very luxurious.

The formula

The formula is very creamy and comfortable. I would say the shades are rather sheer, besides Natalie.

I wouldn’t not say they are long lasting, they definitely come off when drinking, fade through out the day, and do transfer (Sorry again Coty.) But, I did expect this.

I think these will be lovely for my quick daily looks.

The Triple Luxe Lipsticks retail for $35 and come in 15 shades. I could never see my self spending this much on a lip product, it feels unnecessary.

It hurts spending the money on Kat Von D liquid lips and those are one of my favorite lip product formulas and $15 cheaper!

However, if you want to try a comfy luxury feeling lip stick- pick it up Here!

B.H. Cosmetics Desert Oasis Palette | 2 Looks and a Review!

Today…has been a day. But, I have found a new to me YouTuber that is awesome! Her name is Lacie and her Channel is Spooky Lips and Fat Hips. You need to check her out!

Now to the point. The Desert Oasis palette from B.H. Cosmetics.

This palette retails for $22 at Ulta, but is currently 25% off on the BH Cosmetics site for only $16.50.

Here for 25% off!

This palette has 15 shadows and 4 highlights. It is cruelty free, and lets get to the reason I actually picked it up- Tati was raving about it on her YouTube channel.

The palette itself is beautiful. There are 5 matte shades, which are really the only matte shades you need, as well a some beautiful shimmers and lovely pops of color. The highlights vary from light to darker, which is nice as well.

The Shadows

  • Moonscape- a shimmery champagne
  • Quartz- a light shimmery rose
  • Canyon- a matte warm brown
  • Sand- a matte bone shade
  • Terrain- a shimmery gold
  • Prickly Pear- a duo chrome red brown

  • Cactus- a duo chrome green brown
  • Dune- a darker matte brown
  • Nightscape- a chocolate brown
  • Turquoise- an icy blue
  • Mineral- a shimmery light pink
  • Sandstone- a matte orange pulling a bit brown. I am not sure what descriptive words I am looking for right now!
  • Heatwave- a metallic bronze red
  • Hot Spring- a metallic blue

As you can see, all of the shades are very pigmented and those mattes are amazing. But, do not let finger swatches speak for how well a shadow will perform.

The Highlights

  • Serenity- a very light pink
  • Bliss- a light gold
  • Mirage- a darker gold
  • Utopia- a bronze
  • Hideaway- a darker bronze

I am sure you can tell that the highlights have a lot of glitter in them..

Look # 1

  • I started off by priming my eyes and setting it with Sand. I think Sand is my new favorite thing to set my lids with.
  • I pulled it a lighter random transition shade to give a bit better of a gradient and blended it into my crease starting with the middle then going out.
  • I repeated this step with Sandstone
  • After that I went in with canyon the same way I did with the other shades but didn’t go as high up.
  • I went back in with Sandstone and placed in on my inner and outer lid.
  • I repeated the previous step with Nighscape a blended a bit into the crease.
  • I placed Cactus on to the center of my lid.
  • I popped Moonscape into my inner corner.

I went on my lower lash line with all the matte shades going from lightest more blown out, to the darkest right on the lash line.

I am also sure you can tell, I got tired of blending. Not that these shades don’t blend well, I was just tired and it was 6 in the morning.

The highlight I used this day was bliss, I did not spray a setting spray on before applying.

Look # 2

  • After I primed my eyes, I used Bone again to set it.
  • I started with Sandstone as my transition to really make the Look warm. I blended all all through my crease, on some of my lid and blew it out.
  • I then went in a little tighter into my crease with Canyon.
  • I used Nighscape on my outer V
  • I placed Hot Spring on my lid, leaving the inner lid open.
  • I placed Turquoise on my inner lid, inner corner, and down to my inner lower lash line.

  • I used the mattes on my lower lash line in the same order as before.

This day my highlight was Serenity and Mirage. I sprayed setting spray before and after I applied them.

Thoughts- Shadows

The mattes are pigmented and easy to work with. The shimmer and metallic shades are really pretty and don’t require a wet brush to show up boldly.

When you dip your brush into the shadows there is a lot of kick up. This isn’t too big of a deal to me, just tap your brush off.

There is quite a bit of fall out on the face during application. This isn’t an issue for me, I always do eyes first.

I am very impressed with the shadows for how inexpensive the palette is.

Is it a must purchase for the shadows? No. It isn’t exactly unique to the market now a days. But they are nice and if Desert Oasis does strike your fancy the shadows are great.

Thoughts- Highlights

I am disappointed. I was really excited for these because of how much Tati and a few other people raves about them.

I think they are chunky and a bit too glittery to me. They added some texture to my skin as well.

I DO like the shade Mirage, which is the largest pan. I am not sure why, but it isn’t as chunky as the others.

The highlights do make good shadows though.

Over all

If this Palette is already on your radar, I would try for the shadows. Especially since it is 25% off right now. Hell, you may love the highlighters as well-other people love them I just don’t.

For me this palette gets 🌵🌵🌵 out of 5 Cactuses. For me the highlights were a huge pull, and they were duds. But, they shadows are great, so they earned back some of the Cactuses.

What drugstore products should I try or Review next?

Thank you so much for reading 🌵

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box September 2018

Sad news, this will be my last Vegan Cuts Beauty Box for a while. I have had it for 2 years and I just have wayyyyy to many face creams and little toners and such to go through. I am sad to see it go, but I also don’t want all of the products I have gotten to expire.

However, I am keeping the quarterly makeup box!

Without further ado, let’s see what is in my last VC Beauty Box.

Safe Baron Vulcano Castile Soap $8

This is a little detox body wash. I do love Sade Baron products so I am always happy to try another. This is safe for face and body. It contains activated charcoal.

Manna Kadar Cosmetics Blush and Highlighter “Blossom” $21

This cute little guy is meant to be a blush and highlight. You can use all three shades together or separate.

Here are all three shades swatched separate and then that larger swatch on the side is them all blended together.

I don’t have the patience to try and hit the tiny flowers, but I do think the product looks beautiful all blended together.

Laritzy Gold Eye Pencil $18

This is my first experience with Laritzy, but I have heard good things about the brand. As I said in a previous post, I am always up for a colored liner!

Zuii Organic Flora Mascara “Granite” $29.50

This Mascara is meant to build volume and length. It is also supposed to be smudge resistant!

I will have to do an update post on this Mascara. Honestly, I haven’t had the best lunch with cleaner mascaras. Sigh.

Honestly Phresh Deodorant Stick $5

I have super sensitive under arms, I actually have very bad eczema on them. So I lean towards natural deodorant to keep me fresh, but not aggravate my under arms. I am glad to get to try a brand I have yet to.

Bogavia Exfoliating Facial Scrub $20

This Scrub is fragrance free, works for all skin types, and contains aloe Vera, sea kelp, and avocado oil.

Kind of reminds me of that one scrub, I think by Dr.Jart that everyone hyped up for so long.

That is it for my last Vegan Cuts Beauty Box!

I am very happy with it. This box has never disappointed me and I do plan to resubscribe ones I get through some of the products that I have stocked up.

What products are you curious about from this months Box?

Thank you for reading 💜

Ipsy September 2018

I want to put make up on my face so bad, but I have strep throat and don’t want to risk infecting my brushes or products. So, I am stuck with unboxing Ipsy for y’all.

By the way. I am very ready for Ipsy to come out with Glam Bag plus. I am definitely going to take advantage of it when the waiting list is opens.

But for now, the basic Ipsy is $10 a month, and contains 5 full or deluxe sample sized beauty products.

Let’s jump in.

Luxie x D.C. 110 Brush

I love Luxie brushes and this is a neat Harley Quinn one. The brush itself is a little weird, I suppose it would be good for blending out eye primer, setting it, or blending rough outer edges.

Luna By Luna Cosmetics Translucent Powder

This is a baked translucent powder…mine arrived broken. I ha w already let Ipsy know and they are sending a replacement.

The powder feels really soft and I think it will be really nice for setting the under eyes.

IBY City Limits Shadow “Fire and Ice”

I love IBY shadows. They are creamy, easy to work with, and pigmented. I did purchase the City Limits palette when it was on the Ipsy shop.

I love this palette!

Here is fire and ice swatched. Beautiful! I will be giving the single I got in my Ipsy bag to a friend, I do already have the palette after all.

Noyah Organic Peppermint Lip Balm

I really don’t need another lip balm, but at least it is organic. Honestly, I don’t like peppermint, I’ll be passing this along to a friend.

Glamour Dolls Blue Eyeliner

I am always up for a color liner. I tend to use a lot of color shadows.

Really pretty sky blue.

That is it for my Ipsy bag!

I will be honest, I’m kind of disappointed. I got a brush, which is nice, but it’s a weird one. A liner I’ll use. A balm I won’t use, a shadow I already own, and a broken powder. At least the bag itself is really cute!

What was in your Ipsy bag?

BoxyCharm September 2018 | Wild Flower

This picture has NOTING to do with this post, be here I am looking all sweaty and wrecked holding my cousins new puppy gambit! He snuggled me for hours 😍.

We do not deserve dogs.

Now for BoxyCharm things. I am currently on the waitlist for the December BoxyCharm Luxe, after I saw how great September’s was, I got sucked in.

But for now, here is the basic BoxyCharm, which is $21 a month.

Pretty Vulgar Nightingale Smoky Eye Palette $35

The packaging is super cute, but for some reason I never felt the pull to purchase any of the Pretty Vulgar palettes. Probably because of the layout inside.

I am boring and just prefer uniformity over cute packaging. I also don’t gravitate to cool tones.

Here are some of the shades swatches. They are all super pigmented and creamy, I will have to play with this some and update y’all.

Laura Geller Baked and Brighten Blush Tropic Hues $28

I have wanted to try the Baked and Brighten blushes for a while, but have not wanted to spring the money. I was really excited when I opened my BC and saw this baby.

Totally a shade I would have picked my self. I love the wind bitten cheek look.

Alamar Cosmetics Ojitos Brush Set $18

I was stoked when I saw this as a box spoiler. I was going to buy these brushes anyway.

The set comes with a smaller I guess packing brush, a blending crease brush, and a flat liner brush.

Lorac Pro Liquid Lip Sienna $19

I feel like I always get liquid lips, which is fine, I very rarely buy lip products. I did just order like 5 from Dose of Colors though.

Anyway, I have never tried a Lorac lip product. So this should be interesting.

For sure a shade that is up my alley.

Butter London Stroke of Wow Roll on Liner $19

Look! We get to try a gimmick!

I am intrigued….

Very black…and the straightest line I have ever made!!! I have a bad tremor from being on Lithium so long, liner is a struggle.

Will this help? Stay tuned for future posts to find out.

That is it for my BoxyCharm this month! I am happy with it. Got two things I wanted anyway, two I never thought about but may be nice, and one neat liner.

What was in your BoxyCharm? What so you want to see reviewed?

Laura Lee Los Angles Boss Babe | Look and Review

I wish there was a job where you never had to deal with angry people. I get so anxious over it. I am the lead supervisor over the company I work for and sometimes I just think it’s too much.

But I know being only 22 this is a accomplishment I should be very proud of. So, every now and then I treat my self for my hard work! Coty treats me too, but it’s usually with food and stuffed animals.😂

Anyway, when I swatched the Party Animal Palette I knew I needed the rest from the Laura Lee brand. So I bought them, besides Nudie Pootie, it was sold out.

Today we are focusing on the very fitting “Boss Babe” palette.

It is a small 6 pan palette. Three matte shades and three more metallic. It also has a very nice mirror. I love how sleek the packaging looks.

The palette retails for $19 HERE, but also comes in a bundle with Party Animal for $30 on the same site.

Swatches

Starting from wrist back

On the Grind: a metallic bronze/Peach the shade looks basic, but it is pretty unique.

DeadLine: a matte warm light brown

CEO: a metallic rose gold. So pretty.

Nine to Five: a matte rusty red. I LOVE this shade. And the name makes me think of the Dolly Parton song.

Hustle: a metallic gold, I don’t think I have another shade quite like it.

Clocked out: a matte dark brown.

All of the shades have awesome pigmentation! And yes, the brand is cruelty free. ☺️☺️

The Look

  • – To start I primed by eyes with the NYX Glitter Primer as usual, and set it with a random matte skin toned shade.
  • – Then I took a really fluffy crease brush and buffed DeadLine in my crease, on some of my lid, up above my crease and blended it out.
  • – I then went in with a smaller brush and did the same with 9 to 5, I just didn’t go as far out with it.
  • -With a pointed crease brush I placed Clocked Out on my outer crease and blended it into my outer crease.
  • – I placed CEO all over my lid.
  • -I decided I wanted more color, so I popped Hustler on top of that.
  • -Then I popped On the Grind into my inner corner.
  • -I repeated essentially the same steps as I did on my lid on my lower lash line, just omitting the metallic shades.
  • -Popped on some mascara, done!
  • Over All thoughts
  • I love this little palette. You can go a few different ways with it, and it is so easy to work with. The shadows blend amazingly! I am sure you could achieve the same out come with less expensive shadows, like from ColourPop.
  • I am very glad that I have gotten my hands on the Boss Babe palette, and I do recommend it!
  • Thank you so much for reading!
