Cranberry Wing

cw

I was looking through my eye shadows when I decided that I wanted to do something I have never tried to do before, a colored wing.

I misplaced my Inglot Duraline, so I couldn’t use a regular shadow and decided to try it with a Colour Pop shadow, in this case “Porter”. This is one of Kathleen Lights shades, and it is beautiful!

  • I used it very lightly and defused on the outer third of my eye and the crease.
  • I then took the more shimmery white shadow from the Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye palette in my lid.
  • I used the Essence Super Fine Eyeliner pen to do the thicker black strip on my eye and did a small wing with it.
  • I then went in with porter again and an angled liner brush to make a bigger wing . I did go around the small black wing with it, in person due to the over lapping it created a really pretty omber effect.

I know it isn’t the best, I was just sort of messing around. I really hope to improve my skills so I can do more fun looks like this (but better).

Thanks for reading. What are your favorite colorful shadows?

Fire Ball Eyeshadow Look *Ipsy Product Review*

udfb

I got this little duo chrome shadow from Urban Decay “Fire Ball” from my June Ipsy bag, I knew if I didn’t do a look with it, it would never be used.

It came in a small pan. Like really small. It is a pink/orange duo chrome, not the best duo chrome I have used, probably one of the worst. To get the shadow to really wow me I had to apply it with fix + sprayed on to the brush. Not going to lie I expected much more. Really wish I would have gotten the shade” lounge”.

The Look:

  • I used Urban Decay Primer Potion as my base
  • I then used the more yellow shadow, ;Ludwin”from the Kat Von D shade and Light Eye palette to set it.
  • In my crease I used the entire last quad in the shade and light eye palette. Going deeper and deeper as I blended.
  • To really define my crease and outer third of my lid I mixed the red and dark brown shades. “Succubus” and “Sytry”
  • I then used “Fire Ball” all over my lid.
  • I dipped into my original Naked palette and used “Virgin” To highlight my brow bone and inner corner.
  • Under my eyes I used “Succubus” on the outer part then used “Fire Ball” in the inner part.
  • My liner is the Kat Von D Tattoo liner in “Trooper”, my mascara is the Benefit They’re real and the Essence Lash Princess.

If you are wondering what is on my lips it is the NYX Lip Suede in “Sand Storm”.

I hope you enjoyed this look, let me know what you think!  What is your favorite duochrome shadows? What type of looks do you want me to do?

*Tid Bit Posts* 10 Random Facts about me!

cropped-unnamed-file.jpg

I haven’t done a post like this in a while, so I figured I would! Here are 10 random facts about me.

  1. Every day while I get ready ( and most days a few times through out the day) I listen to scary stories on youtube. Specifically Lazy Masquerade, Corpse Husband, and Mr. Nightmare. I love scary shit. I love feeling creeped out!
  2. I hate romantic comedies. I have never seen the Note Book, I have never seen an of the Nicholas Sparks movies or read any of the books.
  3. I have 3 pet rats! 2 of which are hairless. Peaches, Tina, and Louise. They are shoulder trained and all of that. Pretty fun.
  4. I am a really introverted person.  Don’t have a ton of friends off the internet, and I am very happy with that!
  5. Have you ever watched the channel investigation discovery? I am addicted to it! It is almost all I watch.
  6. Besides The Walking Dead, Bob’s Burgers is my favorite show. It is so stupid and it makes me happy.
  7. I have my next few tattoos planned out. The next one I am getting is based off a movie. I am so frickin’ excited.
  8. My favorite movie is A Clock Work Orange. No, that is not what this next tattoo is based off of. In fact, I only started watching Grav3yard Girl, because of her “Real Horror Show” tattoo.
  9. I have a lot of bad habits, some of which stem from my OCD which causes some beauty things to be VERY hard to get right..
  10. This whole blogging thing has really saved me from myself. It is an outlet, and I love it. But, at the same time, I feel a lot of shame because I am terrible at it. It feels like a waste of internet space.

Tell me some random facts about you!!

Itty Tiny Haul DRUGSTORE!

626

When I said itty tiny I meant it. I picked up a few things that I needed and figured I would share them with you. I also got this super cute random phone case and thought it was to great not to share.

Before I talk about these hauled products I have a question. I need help deciding on a photo back ground!! I can’t seem to decide what I want. All I know is I don’t want to do the whole marble thing. Any suggestions?

Now for the haul.

Nyx Jumbo Shadow sticks “Slate” and “Peacock”:  I really like the jumbo pencils and have neither of these shades. I already made “Slate” super messy from using it, so I apologize.

NYX Eye SHadow Base “White”: I have been purchasing a lot of colorfull eye shadows, so I needed a white base to really make them pop. I decided the best decision was to go with a cult classic.

NYX Under Eye Concealer “Fair”: This is an orange toned concealer meant for the under eyes. I already know I love this product, but I hadn’t repurchased it in ages!

Wet n Wild Come Correct Celebrity Concealer: I wanted to see if I could replace my Maybelline Master Conceal with this product. More up date on that to come!

Hope you enjoyed this baby haul. Anything specific you are interested inn hearing more about?

*Win or Waste* Essence all about NUDES palette

625

Today, or tonight should I say, I bring you a drugstore nudes palette review! It seems like everyone and their grandma is really into nudes palettes, and I know first hand that a nicely priced palette is very tempting. But, not all drugstore, or even high-end products, are worth the money it costs, no matter how much it is. This palette just happens to be $5.49!

I will be reviewing this product with my improved rating scale, to me having very organized thoughts in reviews ( coming from other people) really helps me to make a decision. So, I decided to really get my reviews down to a “science” for all of you!

Aesthetics/sizes/durability:

I am a sucker for packaging and layouts of products. I have no idea why, but it really will cause me to purchase a product, solely on that one aspect. I figure I can’t be the only one!

The packaging is clear plastic, which allows you to see the 8 pans of shadows. Which, I do appreciate it really does make it easier when in a hurry. The plastic is actually pretty thick and seems like it would do pretty well while traveling.

I enjoy the layout if the shadows. I also really like how the shadows and packaging surrounding the shadows almost make a flat surface. This is a bit messy though!

There is 0.33 oz of product, so a little bit more than the Wet n Wild 8 pan palettes to compare.

Senses:

Obviously, I am going to discuss the senses that apply to this product. In this case touch, so the texture! The shadows feel very soft, I was pretty surprised! If you saw ,my *Makup Declutter Eyeshadow* post, you read that I am not a fan of the Essence single shadows. I just assumed these shadows would feel like crap, but you know what they saw about making assumptions.

Availability:

Living in an area that is about two hours away from the nearest city it is hard to get a lot of products. I know this is the case for a lot of people. So, ladies and gentlemen I have decided this will help me rate a product. If it is available OFFLINE at more than one store I am giving it the full store, if it is only at one store it will receive .5, only online will get a 0. They reason I am making it this way is because there are a lot of people who don’t trust ordering online, and justifiably so.

Luckily, Essence is sold at most Targets and Ulta stores! I get all of mine at Target.

Application:

6252Look at those swatches! Aren’t they pretty!? When applied to the eyes unfortunately it isn’t them same. The shadows do really muddy together. Which maybe because they are SO soft, causing them to be just a little powdery. BUT, if you are someone who doesn’t have a ton of shadows, like the Naked palettes, this would work very nicely with other shadows. That is my favorite way to use it. For reviews sake though, I did a look only using the palette.

6253

I wanted to list what shadows I used where, but they just muddied so badly.

Wear:

Despite being muddy the shadows will did not move. For this look, no it wasn’t good, but for using it as a companion palette it wears nicely.

Over all:

I give this palette a 4/5 for the palette using it ONLY as palette ( the last to categories added up to one whole point). If you have a lot of shadows, skip it. Buy a Colour Pop Super Shock Shadow or something. But, if you don’t have a nude palette and want something to use with other colors or you are just starting out and want to do one or two shadow looks I would say that it is a nice little palette to try. I mention starting out, because I personally started wearing makeup daily (ish) when I was around 14, and it would have been a cold day in hell if my parents would have spent $50 on an eye shadow palette for me.

I hope you enjoyed my new review system! What are your favorite essence products? What is your favorite drugstore nudes palette?

My Favorite Summer Look *MOTD*

62316

The look I am bout to talk you through is one I have been doing quite often this summer. Though it takes quite a few products when I do it, it doesn’t have to, I just like using things that I have and didn’t want to stick to one palette.  It is super simple to execute and doesn’t take much time at all!

  • First start of with a moisturizer, preferably with an SPF. Then move on to your primer. I used the Too Faced Hangover RX. It is probably my favorite primer, I have 5 samples of it, no idea how.
  • I then went straight to foundation. I am trying to use up this L’oreal True Match foundation in W-1, it is a nice foundation and has SPF. I really wish L’oreal was CF.
  • I then used the Maybelline Master Conceal to highlight my face then used the Maybelline Better Skin to conceal. I also really wish Maybelline was CF..
  • I then set all of that with my Maybelline Fit Me Powder in Translucent.
  • I then spritzed my face with the Mario Badescue facial spray.

  • I used the Nars bronzer in “Laguna” to contour and warm up my face. I also wedged it in to my crease.
  • I used my favorite blush, Milani “Luminouso” .
  • I used the Becca pressed and liquid versions. I layered the pressed on top of the liquid. Yes, I know I should have applied the liquid before any powders, but I didn’t decide to use it until last minute.I also highlighted my brow bone and inner corner of my eye with the pressed version.

  • I used the Essence Make Me Brow and the brow pencil ( both in blonde) to lightly do my brows. I didn’t want them too heavy for this look.

  • I then took the shade “Buck” from the Urban Decay Naked palette on the outer third of my lid and pulled it into my crease.
  • I then took the lightest shade from the Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye palette in “Sage” and put it all over my lid.
  • I used the matte cream shade from the Carli Bybel palette to blend it all out.
  • I lined my lower water line with Smash Box’s “Penny Lane” always sharp pencil
  • I used to Benefit They’re Real mascara

  • I used the Nude Stix in “Mystic” on my lips.

623162

That is the look I achieved!

What do you think? What is your go to summer look?

Small June Empties; Look in my Trash!

june empties

Today I bring you my trash. I do not have much beauty trash this month, sense I am trying so much new stuff. But, here is what I did finish up!

Equate exfoliating makeup wipes: I just use these to remove swatches. I just buy cheap makeup wipes, and these were what I happened to grab.

E.L.F Daily Face Wash: I did a review of this product ( *Win or Waste* ELF Daily Facial Cleanser) I really say all I can about this product here; so, check it out

Rating 0/5

Yes, I changed my rating scale, you will see how I have changed it, in coming up reviews!

Revlon  Color Burst Matte Balm “StandOut”: This was my go to lip product for years. From the time it came out until I decided to go cruelty free. It was my favorite thing. But, now that I do not use Revlon, I had to find a new baby. I did use my last back up this up.

Rating: 4/5 (4 because Revlon harms animals.)

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer “15” : This is a great concealer, but again not a CF brand. So I will not repurchase it. I decided to use it up, and finally did!

Rating: 4/5 (4 because Maybelline harms bunnies)

L’oreal True Match Concealer Crayon “N6-7-8”: I was using this for a while to contour and liked it. Did I love it? No. Would I recommend it? Even if it was CF, no.

Rating: 2/5

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara Mini: I already bought a full-size. If you don’t have this or haven’t tried it, you need it! It is amazing.

Rating: 5/5

Too Faced Shadow Insurance: This is my favorite shadow primer. I have a couple samples and a full size in my stash. I wanted to get through this itty baby sample, and I did.

Rating 5/5

Maybelline Baby Skin Primer: This product exaggerated my pores, so it did not do its job. The packaging is cute, but that is the only thing I like about it. I honestly didn’t even use it all up, I just couldn’t bring myself to pass it along because, I hate it that much.

Rating 1/5 (1 for packaging)

What is in your beauty trash? What do you think of these products?

June 2016 Vegan Cuts Unboxing!

jv

Came home from a trip to St.Louis and saw that my June Vegan Cuts  Box arrived. I love Vegan Cuts, so as soon as I got inside I tore into it. This Box is $22 p/m, all vegan, CF, and in my opinion way more than worth the price.I also want to clarify that the prices listed are the prices of the size received, not the full size product. Unless the product in the box is full sized.

The Contents:

Clarisea Sea Salt Solutions Rapid Detox Exfoliant: If you are wondering, yes I did get this product already in another box this month. Am I mad? Hell no. I tried this product and love it! I am pretty glad that I now have a back up of it. The sample size value is $3.

Mai Couture Oil Blotting Papers: I would have preferred something else, I have no problem using ELF’s super cheap blotting papers. But, these do have Vitamin C and E in them so maybe they will be awesome. Apparently it is $12 for 100 sheets, so they better be awesome.

Ofra Liquid Lipstick in “Laguna Beach”: I am really new to Ofra, so I am glad I get to try another product. The shade is really pretty and it smells great. If I end up liking this I will probably start to dip my toes more into the Ofra waters.vc2

Glow For a Cause Solid Perfume “Wish” : I have just recently heard of this brand, and solid perfumes in general. I am excited to try and review this product. My little card says that this is a special edition scent (which smells amazing) and is an $18 value! It has bergamont in it, along with white tea…two of my favorite scents!!

Solar Protective Moisturizer from Devita: I am all about some SPF and moisturizer, so I love getting these types of products, even if they are sample size. This product has SPF 3o and is a $5 value.

Pure Sol Konjac Facial Sponge: I have never tried this type of sponge. They have been pretty popular lately and was planning to buy one- now I don’t have to! I will let y’all know how this works for me. It is a $10 value.

Have you tried these items? What are your must have Ofra products? What are your must have vegan items?

A Cruelty Free Eye ShadowDupe for a Cult Favorite!

dupe1

As some of you may now, I am trying to convert my entire beauty collection cruelty free. While I have been able to give away and donate ( I only donated and sold un-opened items) most of my non- CF products there were some that I loved way too much to pass along with out finding a dupe.

One of these products being the cult favorite L’oreal Infallible shadow in the shade “Amber Rush”. This product also happens to be a dupe for one of the MAC pigments, I believe in the shade “Tan”. While researching replacement products I stumbled upon a post stating that Colour Pop’s “Amaze” is a good CF dupe for these products. So obviously I ordered it.

dupe2

I apologize for the shotty packaging on my “Amber Rush” lid. I am really bad about peeling the labels off things, resulting in me having to sharpie on the shade names.

Side by side in the pans they look pretty similar, “Amber Rush” may be a bit more red.

dupe3

When swatched, you can really see that “Amber Rush ” is a bit more red/orange. The consistency is not the same, but the color is pretty similar. I wouldn’t say that this is a dupe, but it is a good alternative!

What do you think?
